I LOVED staying at the Fairwind Hotel! Beautiful property, very modern, chic, hip. The staff were in contact with me before I arrived to check on me. Check in process was quick & easy. They showed me to my room. I stayed in the garden area, a beautiful area & rooms. I asked to be moved to the garden area and they accommodate me with no hassle and I’m so grateful they did. I came to Miami alone for my birthday. So staying in that garden area, I felt very safe. It had quick access to the street and a lot of staff is in this area because of the restaurant. This made me feel at ease to walk out and see a friendly face near by. Staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. Cute restaurant area that had a few events going on during my stay. One was a fashion show! Adding something fun to my itinerary that I could enjoy right where I was staying. The hotel itself is in the perfect location. I was able to walk to restaurants & clubs. I walked to the beach multiple times a day. I even walked there wearing just a thong bikini because it was about a 5 minute walk. I went to the pool one day. A nice chill pool for relaxing. Not too many kids splashing around or playing. Deep enough to be safe and enjoyable. The air did go out my last night there. They offered to move me but I declined since I was leaving. The hotel staff continued to check on me during my stay and made sure my stay was enjoyable. Great customer service! The Fairwind Hotel made my 30th Birthday one to remember. Thanks

The women at the front desk was gorgeous and nice.

Ice machine on in office no microwave not what the picture say

The Fairwind is in a great location in the heart of South Beach. Wonderful hang out areas, nice outside and rooftop bar. Room was modern, clean, and comfy. Rooftop pool is one of the best features of this location. Only slightly bad thing I can say is the elevator is extremely slow.

I asked for a king room and received two double beds. It was just me traveling They have a beautiful outdoor bar and restaurant by the fountain which gets extremely loud from about 8 pm u til after midnight. Forget the disco nap before going out late Room decor was very outdated and poorly designed. Definitely needs an update. However, the bathroom was newly remodeled and exquisite. I needed transportation to Wynwood Murals. The receptionist called a taxi who quoted $35 one way. I took an u er for $9. Talk about price gouging! This property DESPERATELY needs a room to store luggage. The entire front desk area was full of luggage when I arrived and when I left. Either get a room or change the lobby configuration to store luggage.

The upstairs was great however a lot of heat snuck through the door seal and made the room humid. Had to keep blowing cold air on me all night

We liked the beautiful court garden and the hotel location on Collins St. Enjoyed the coffee cafe and bar/lounge area for breakfast and snacks. We were hoping for a room with a balcony on a higher floor level over the garden court, but ended up on the first floor to the side of the bar area which was great.

Roof top pool with a great view. Walking distance to beach and night life.

Room was very small but adequate Staff was nice Being told ahead of time that there would be a resort fee woulda have been nice... Not sure how that motel qualifies as a resort

My stay was very Pleasent the hotel staff were very nice the rooms are super clean super close to the beat nice quiet area

Pros: location (close to beach, shops, restaurant); Hotel staff was friendly and tried to accommodate Cons: Restaurant - server was argumentative, rude and clueless (tried to push lemonade on me when I asked for iced tea, delivered incorrect order); Valet service - not always available when needed to drop off car; Housekeeping (didn't replenish supplies, tissues, clock on radio was not set); bathroom sink was awkward; Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable; my room was right above the pool/bar which had loud music playing until 11:00 pm; room was not noise proof - I could hear loud banging in the hallways and above me in the middle of the night; the AC was very loud, turning on and off; staff inappropriately and unnecessarily opened a small box I had left with them to hold at the front desk with my luggage on departure date (female staff member knew there was a croissant in it - that was creepy!)

GREAT GREAT Hotel!!!!! but the cleaning service was just OK! Hotel is super nice, great price, great location , pool is nice! but lacked in taking care of refreshing the rooms.. BUT would recommend this hotel and will stay there again....

Hotel was ok. Great location to shops and food beach not far. Staff was awesome, Mary was great! . When you walk in to the lobby area they have a strong scent smell was so nasty wanted to vomit. Rooms were ok real small not much places to hang things like little hooks on the walls. Semi clean, need to work on that the ceiling fan in the bathroom had alot of dust. Overall ok dont think id stay again.

Nice clean hotel close to the beach and friendly staff

The hotel and staff were really nice. The rooftop pool is a great feature, we liked the music they played. Music played at night but it wasn’t too loud. I suggest an ice machine on at least every other floor instead of only in the main lobby area.

Thank you your review. We appreciate your kind words about our bar La Sombra. Now I apologize that the lack of luggage space is what affected the score of this review. We do have a luggage room but when it is at max capacity, we do store at the front desk under our watch. All luggage is safely secured there due to our staff and cameras and we cannot change the lobby layout due to historical designation but thanks for the suggestion. I apologize that you did not like our decor. I agree that it is not all flashy and bright colored like other south beach hotel but that is what makes us different. Our hotel is not even a year old so the decor is not outdated. In regards to the taxi to Wynwood, those are set prices that taxis offer here in Miami. We as a hotel do not handle pricing. A ride sharing service is always the best bet. We thank you for your review.

Thank you so much for your review. There is a separate a/c unit in the staircase to combat the heat from coming in. We will take a look into the room you were in. Besides that, we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us here at the Fairwind!

Thank you so much for your review. We love that you enjoyed our breakfast cafe and our bar at La Sombra. We think we have the best ambiance here on the beach. I apologize that our balcony rooms were not available for an upgrade but our garden rooms are just as beautiful and i am glad you enjoyed your stay.
