First, the pictures and descriptions on the web sites were deceiving. We were shocked by the condition of the room, hallway, stairs and elevator. The "upgraded/remodel" was done terribly. The room floors were not wood and installed over old flooring so the door was hard to open and scratches up the "vinyl" flooring which was peeling up in spots. The floor was sticky and after walking across it, with bare feet, the bottoms of my feet were black. I used a towel to scoot around the room. The bathroom tiling was sloppy and the finish work was horrible as was the paint job ( no sanding just paint right over the existing worn out trim and walls). There was hair in the shower so we didn't use it and no towel bars. No mini frig, microwave or coffee maker just a very small frig set on the ground filled with items you could purchase. The closet was a joke and there was no safe to use. The hall carpet was stained and anything metal was painted over in gold (right over the rust, lumps and scratches). The elevator was old and run down but worked. The only positives were the bed and pillows, the bamboo pool, it was only one block from the beach and the two restaurants on site (had good food). The staff was great but the owner needs to stay here and experience the terrible workmanship of their updated work. Would not stay here again.

Great hotel and close to the fun!

Shower faucet was broke closet was mildew door was broke

Great location. Right in the heart of south beach Miami. No parking. Had no choice but to pay 42.00 for valet parking.

Been coming here for years. Love the location and both pools but it’s really the customer service that keeps me coming back! Really love the staff!

Loud music from the bar which is the entrance to get the the rooms and room next to the Bar and nextdoor room I reserved room at Catalina hotel and they gave me the room at Max‘s hotel Room has no toilet paper no trash bin nor Hair blower

If you are a hotel snob DO NOT stay here. The property is in need of a facelift so most of the amenity spaces are unusable. Rooms are exactly as pictured. Pros: Close to everything (food, shopping, entertainment) Staff is helpful and the chef in the restaurant is fantastic. Never had a bad meal. Cons: This property is noisy. The doors slam so you are likely to be awakened when sleep. The bathroom is beyond tiny. You can hear conversations in the hallway and through the walls. Overall, I would stay here again if the amenities were fixed and I could choose a larger floor plan.

Terrible customer service

I liked that the room did look like the pictures on the website. I disliked having to walk to another building for any needs or concerns. The bed was hard, the floor was dirty and there was only 1 roll of toilet paper in my room. I parked my car with valet and was told to call 30 minutes in advance for my car but no one answered the phone or the phone was off the hook. The main lobby was dirty andespecially the bathroom

I checked into the Catalina. It took a while I was waiting in the lobby for check in and I was suggested to do and while I was doing so, ppl ere checking in before me. When I realized this, I go up and a resident came angry because new residents opened her door and entered her room. This was an accident on the staffs part but it delayed my check in even more. When I finally checked in, I went to rest, I heard some noise on the ceiling and as I look up there were two giant roaches coming out of the skylight. I got back for the front and ask for another room. I was sent to a suite at the cordozo next door. It was an upgrade however the cleanliness was the same as the previous room. The headboard was full of dirt for some reason. Overall, they need to focus on cleaning around the headboards and do repairs around the hotel in general.

There’s a infestation in the building I had cockroaches in my room. The toilet handle was broke. There was hair in the shower walls, on the drain and on the bed. The bedroom walls were dirty as well.

I took my wife there for her birthday. This hotel offered a free happy hour from 6-7. The bartender Kat was amazing

when I checked in to my room there was people in the room who had checked out.

We appreciate your great rating Tamara! We are in the best location close to the beach, Lincoln Road Mall, The Fillmore, Espanola Way and more. We do not have parking at the hotel. Parking in Miami Beach can be difficult due to the popularity of the area. We offer valet service via a third party for $40 per day, plus taxes. There is also a public parking garage located nearby. We hope to host you again for a future stay.
