It was a nice hotel however there is no microwaves anywhere on the premises which makes eating at the restaurant or any other place for that matter hard simply because you can’t warm up any leftovers so your stuck wasting a lot of food. The pool at night after a certain hour has 0 lights so your chilling poolside in the dark. If you need to call the front desk it’s useless because the line is always busy. Other than that the rooms are very nice, very nice shower, basic cable (nothing to watch) rooftop pool is nice, and you can’t beat the location.

Check in was easy. Everyone was friendly. Roof top pool gets a little crowded but the atmosphere is good. Maxine's has wonderful food, however we did wait over an hour. Manager was very accomidating. I will say thw other reviews I read made me a bit uneasy about staying there. Only two concerns - It was very loud. Walls are paper thin and it took about 15 minutes everyday to get the water for a shower to get warm. Other then that I would say it was amazing and would stay there again.

Location of hotel was ideal. Service and staff was good. The only really negative thing was everytime we took a shower there was a damp disgusting smell from the bathroom. This smell was pretty much unbearable. The bathroom did not have a fan to help dry out the bathroom. There is a great chance there is massive amount of mold growing in that bathroom. Because of this we referred to our room as stink room throughout our stay.

The room itself was decent considering the price, location, and it being a last minute booking. Roberto, at check-in was great.....everyone else not so much. Valet for $40/day was more of an inconvenience than a help, due to the fact that myself (out of towner) wasn't notified that any parade in town would delay our car delivery each day. Housekeeping was great, and very nice. They ensured we had everything and that the rooms were up to par.

Front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful. Also just 1 minute away from the beach, food available 24/7. Great restaurant at the hotel. Great atmosphere to relax and enjoy. Pools were very clean and well kept.

Ok so this place was cute! We stayed here for 5 days during our trip to Florida. I can't say enough about how fun Miami is. This hotel was really chic and you literally crossed the street to get to the beach. The concierge was really nice and I loved our room! There were guides to help you decide what activities you wanted to do. The only con is that a bar tender got really upset over someone not tipping him and told the customer "do you think I only survive on hourly wages". Management staff wasn't around and my husband and I opted to go to another bar from drinks because we felt embarrassed for the customer but also for everyone else there that had to listen. Still, a wonderful stay it was.

I travel back and forth from SOBE 4-5 times a year. I choose to stay at the Catalina when availability allows me to. I always get top notch service from the from desk, Tanisha is amazing and Bryant always go out of the way to accommodate us. Ana over at Kung fu also very nice. The rooms are always immaculate, I’ve only ever had one in room problem with the AC. I was moved right away. The pools, restaurants and bars are always nice to visit and enjoy adult beverages. The resort fee is what it is, yet I do enjoy not ever having to worry about beach towel umbrellas or chairs to carry back and forth. The WiFi is always fast, and the happy hour is a bonus. I have been coming here for years and if things remain the same I will continue to. My little chats with management on duty have always been pleased as well and they are always concerned with the happiness of my stay. Till next time....

We stayed during a busy spring break time and there were two sex workers in rooms on our floor and it was very loud on the first floor with drunken people at the pool at all hours. Our room was in the north building and it was run down. The service desk is in another building and the staff hadn’t been helpful explaining any of the amenities. We walked to the beach to utilize the chair rental but the desk forgot to give us the slip and towels so we walked back. Then they failed to get us on the shuttle to the airport even though we reserved the time spot.

My husband and I stayed at the Catalina before a cruise in March. There was a music fest going on near the port so South Beach was the best option for hotels. We arrived at the hotel with a lobby with blaring music which made check in a challenge. Our room was not ready so we checked our luggage with the valet ( who tagged it and then left it in the lobby where any one could have grabbed it). We came back and went to our room. We were in the main building, 2nd floor all the way in the back- which I was grateful for because we could not hear all the music. We went to the lobby to get towels for the beach and were told they did not have any and to go to the pool. We went next door to the pool- no towels, went to the roof top pool and found them. Arrived at the beach and this nice man asked us for a voucher from the hotel so we did not have to pay for chairs. We were not given one, not told anything about this. The man explained the protocol to us, told us not to worry about it and gave us chairs. We stayed there a bit and then went to the pool. That evening we went to the Red Bar for the " complementary drinks" we asked the bartender and she said they were not doing it and she did not know why. So we paid for our drinks. At night the hotel is very lively- the people watching is rather entertaining and it is very LOUD!!! The room itself is very small ( way smaller then the pictures show). We had 2 suitcases with us and there was nowhere to put them on the floor to open them. The curtain's near the window had a weird stain on it and the duvet had nail polish or something red on it. The bed is memory foam but felt very hard. The bathroom is very small but it was at least clean. The one positive of this hotel is the location. I would not stay here again though. The Shelbourne across the street is way nicer ( but they did not have rooms available )

This hotel is NOT FAMILY friendly . Room was not ready at checkin they posted me checkin at 2:58 didn’t get to a clean room with no towels till after 4pm. Waited in the pool area in their sister hotel next door. No clean towels in the room at all, asked for clean towels none at all , and the run all 3 hotels side by side. NO SLEEP... yelling all night long in the hallway. One guy even asked us if we had drugs. We were scared to come out of our room. No security!!
