The Royal Sands & Spa All Inclusive

The only thing I did not like was the constant asking for out room number, name, and room card. I have been to over 10 all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and never have had to show anything but my wristband. They provided wristbands but still constantly asked for additional information.

It was good experience when you get all inclusive

Nice room. First time we have done alll inclusive here. Breakfast was good, we did the buffet. However pool side food, VERY disappointing and NOT the Royal Resort standard that we ate used to. I have been coming to the Royal Resorts in Cancun for over 20 years and the all inclusive was nothing to write home about. If you do the all inclusive be sure to make your restaurant reservations prior to arriving at the resort or upon arrival.

The staff was amazing .... the hotel was average .. the rooms were out dated... they need a renovation

plesant overall experience. limited options for food especially breakfast. very clean and in the process of updating. we had to switch rooms mid stay due to crossing end of week. normally full week timeshare, very easy to switch. first room was older room, second room was an updated room. unfortunately the new room, the mattress was rock hard. Did not sleep well the last few nights. resort has 2 pools one quiet side and one event side. we like quiet so it was great to go over there and we could relax all day with little noise issues. beach area was very nice as well. in both areas the staff was a little slow to be available. wish more things would have been explained up front (upcharge for what i consider basic alcohol, Jack.. and it was expensive $4USD for 1 drink.

Our trip was amazing. There were only two small things that could have been a little better. We arrived at 1430, the resort was given notification of this two days earlier. Yet we had to wait three hours for our room to be cleaned. The other was when leaving, we planned on grabbing breakfast then leaving. But we told by the bell-hop that our cards were turned off and we couldn't get breakfast, bummer. Apart from those two small details, the stay was amazing. The room was gorgeous with views of the ocean and the pool. It had a large balcony with a dinner table and two loungers. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. There is a small market place in the resort. We found unlike most resorts, their prices were very competitive with local prices so no need to go else were for huge discounts. The gym was clean and the staff always was attentive to our needs. The food was delicious and plentiful, hence the need to use the gym. There are numerous restaurants which are included in the all inclusive. A few you may have to walk 15 minutes to or use the free shuttle service. Drinks were easily flowing. We opted to go through a 90 minute timeshare presentation. For our time we received two gifts, a Chichen itza and a Tulum tours. They were a must see, don't miss out, on these. Take your swimming trunks to both. We rented a car, but didn't use it much. We tried to go exploring, got pulled over for speeding, even though we were in the middle of traffic. Then again on a check point

The resort was amazing ! 2 swim up bars and many different restaurants to choose from on/off the resort . The food was great as well .

Every room has a great view of the ocean and some have views of the pool and ocean. Everywhere on the resort was exceptionally clean and well kept. We enjoyed our suite which included a full kitchen, dining area and Living room. There was a good variety of quality food. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was huge and had two swim up bars. We especially enjoyed eating at Captains Cove which was part of the all inclusive package. I highly recommend this resort for couples and families. We are looking at options to take our children with us next time. Very safe and tons of fun!!

We loved everyting about the hotel. The hotel staff was polite and customer oriented. The view from the rooms is amazing. We loved the food from La Veranda and they made the best capuccino ever. We found couple of small turtles on the hotel beach and brought them back to the sea.

Wonderful experience with my family would do it again

Very relaxing vacation the staff was very informative. The food was great. Wish the bars would have stayed open longer

Beautiful hotel, very clean hotel, staff is extremely Friendly, attention to detail, hotel is beautiful. I will definitely stay there again.

PROS: Beautiful beach. Property is immaculate. CONS: 1) We booked an "ocean view" room only to find out that due to the U shape of the hotel, all rooms are technically ocean view. We were given a room on the second floor, facing the pool, right above the tiki bar, too loud. You could technically see the ocean if you looked to your right but it did not meet expectations. Compliments to the staff, they moved us to a room on a higher floor that was actually facing the ocean, although it was farther back from the beach. 2) All Inclusive - We went to the Hacienda Mexican restaurant, and ordered guacamole, only to be told that will cost extra. Bottle of Corona or CAN of TECATE, CAN OF COKE? Extra. The worst part is that they will stock your fridge or send room service with the same beverages as a part of the all-inclusive, but in restaurants and bars it's not included. Next night we went to the steak house, and same deal. Half of the menu items had surcharges. Unlimited Room service? 8" pizza is included but 10" pies are not. I complained to management and was told that we had the "Refine" plan, and we should have upgraded to the premium plan to avoid surcharges. For the record, this was never an option while booking on orbitz. To sum up: this was a poor job of managing expectations. The Orbitz description says "certain exclusions apply" in fine print. If we'd been told that we'd have to pay extra for any food or beverage we'd have stayed elsewhere.

I will definitely go back again. The resort is beautiful, the food is amazing (plenty of vegetarian and vegan options), and the staff is wonderful and professional.

Nice staff excellence food and device will recommended for family and friends

Royal sands resort was beautiful it was our second time staying there rooms were clean just disappointed they didn't give us a free upgrade since we were there for our 25th Anniversary other than that everything was great they need to work with their breakfast menus always the same food the guys at the pool bar were amazing Raul was always helping and lidia from cleaning ladies resort is always clean and employees are very respectful and always asking if you need anything would strongly recommend to stay you won't regret it even though it's a timeshare resort they never came to us to bother us with buying anything

Food boring, pillows case smell, not much activity for kids, WiFi lack signal, call front desk they said they send some one to check but no one show up. House keeping didn't fill shampoo, conditioner called front desk, but they did bring them ,talked to hotel manager ,but he not taken action happen again, i will not come back this hotel.

We loved our stay at Royal Sands. We came with two kids, 2-year-old and 8 year-old. Both our kids and we had a lot of fun. The weather was not perfect, there was a storm and rain a few times and waves were huge. My little one was scared of the waves. In spite of this, we enjoyed every day there. My kids loved the pools there. We mostly ate at Veranda Restaurant as it served the buffet style most of the time and it was very convenient for us, plus the food was excellent and there was a huge variety. We also bought two trips to Xelha (all of us went there) and Xplor ( only my husband and my 8-year-old went there) and we had a blast there. We also ventured to downtown Cancun to see the local market and it was fun, too. Overall, great vacation!

my best experience in a hotel at cancun really nice staff rooms really clean and nice andclose to town

I stayed at the all-inclusive hotel in June 2017 on a girls trip...the grounds are beautiful and the staff was very friendly. We stayed in a beach front room which offered the most beautiful ocean views. The second day of our stay we did have to change rooms but, we didn't mind much since they put us in another beach front room. I loved laying out on the beach (never had trouble finding a chair), hanging out by the pool (waiters took food & drink orders on the beach/pool), and chilling out at the swim up bar (made so many new friends). Its a timeshare resort but I liked that people seemed to take better care of the grounds/property. The food was really good...we really only ate at the buffet for breakfast. Then for lunch we would order food by the pool/beach which surprisingly everything was really good. Dinner we typically made reservations at the offsite locations...we ate at 3 different restaurants Mexican, Seafood, and Italian which a shuttle is provided to these locations. Also loved the 24hr room service!! Tips: Take the public bus its $1 US each way we ended up saving a lot of money by riding the bus it was safe and even fun with locals playing instruments during the ride.

i don’t really have a single complaint

Everyone

We are a family of 6 and reserved a 2-bedroom suite on the 8th floor. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Our view was breathtaking. There was a full kitchen, which we barely used because we didn’t go @off campus” to buy food and the little general store on the first floor was not exactly s grocery store. It was easiest eating at La Veranda, and the kids loved it. The staff spoke English well and were helpful and hospitable. If I had to say something negative, it would be that the beach and pool chairs went fast - people put their towels down and “disappeared” making it challenging to get decent chairs at times. We also didn’t live that the hotel required an $800 deposit in check in “to cover expenses charged to the room” - then they required you charge certain things to the room, such as laundry and general store. Over all though, we thought the hotel was great and would definitely go back.
