Great room, clean and well maintained. Close to the beach and pool. The check in staff were not friendly and did not provide a lot of information about the hotel and/or any special amenities. On another note, we had several maintainace issues that were quickly addressed and corrected. Maid service was excellent!!!! Beautiful ocean view from our oversized balcony.

This is our 2nd year at this resort. (12th in Cancun) By far our best experience. We have even stayed at higher rated resort. The best part is the food and service. Outstanding! The only little downfall is getting a palapa on the beach. You have to be on the beach by 6 am. But, there are plenty of lounge chairs around the 2 pools. 5 star

Always clean and the food was pretty good in each of the restaurants we tried. Overall we had a good experience but unfortunately we were moved from our room after our first night. They didn't notify us at check in so I unpacked, then found out we were going to be moved the next day, had repack to be moved & unpack again.

Royal Sands is a great getaway location in Cancun! Pros: - Clean place, Nice staff - Big pool - Nice beach access - Good buffet at Veranda restaurant Cons: - Not many places on resort to hang out after 10pm; only the sports bar/sushi place. But keep in mind this is a kid friendly place so maybe you don't want a lot of people hang out late. - Limited room service menu especially after 1030pm - Could use more beach chairs and umbrellas as they fill up quick Overall, I enjoyed my stay with my wife and we would definitely consider going there again!

I enjoyed the restuarant el conquistador. The free shuttle from one royal hotel to another is a great perk of staying at this hotel.

First impression says a lot, we were tired, hungry from delayed flight and the first we had in your hotel was concierge persuading us to present at the hotel presentation right the next morning and buy tours... Careless, selfish and unprofessional! Hotel staff tried to get what they want, nobody cared what we needed, we were even not given proper information, bus schedules to restaurants and etc.The presentation that eventually we agreed to take was even more awful, We were promised it would take 90 min and our kid will be given an iPad to be entertained while we are there. But of course nobody gave a device to the kid and it took more than 2 hours, the people were too pushy, sticky and unprofessional too. We are not coming to your hotel again and will review it as much as possible on other websites like Google, TripAdvisor etc... I consider staying in your hotel like a waste of money. Try working for people not just for yourself!

We jad take a shuttle when we go to the dimner and everytime have to make a reservation it’s unconvinced

We had the best experience at the Royal Sands and spa resort. The rooms were outstanding and the service couldn’t be any better. The people were so nice and the cleanliness of the rooms was incredible.

My family and I enjoyed our time there. It is a great hotel, very well organized, very family friendly place (we are a family of four). The staff is quick, friendly and ready to assist you with everything. Food is good quality and delicious. We had a variety of drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) to choose from. We enjoyed our “all inclusive” package. We could go to several different restaurants (some of them are not at the resort but free bus transportation is provided) and enjoy their food which were included in our package. (If you are not sure if the food or restaurant is included, just ask). I definitely recommend The Royal Sands Resort to families.

This is my second time staying at Royal Sands. They keep the beach closed at all times. Hotels on both sides of RS are always open, but never the beach at Royal Sands. It was like this the first time I went. They are obviously concerned with liability so claim the water is always to rough to swim. The food is pretty good but very limited. I am a vegetarian and basically had veggie fajitas for 8 days twice a day. The menu was scaled way back from my visit 6 months ago. Maid service showed daily, however they would come to clean the room after 3-4pm... who wants to vacate the room at that time of day. So I went 8 days with no cleaning service. There are open bars, but good luck getting a drink and when you do don't expect any alcohol in it. I'm pretty sure the booze was about 50-75% water. There is a silly policy of charging your credit card $300 when you check in for any incidentals? I've never experienced this any where in the world. Another huge issue is check out is 11 am but you can not check in til 4pm? Everything in this hotel is designed to get maximum dollars from you and giving as little as possible in return. They've obviously arranged with the shuttle service to pick you up 4 hours before your flight to get you out of the hotel (all inclusive) to the airport where a slice of pizza is $9 and a drink $5.50... Mexico is some where I've traveled 20 + times at least, but I think I've had enough. It was very slow tourist wise and I think there are many reasons.

Beautiful resort! My family unanimously enjoyed our stay. We appreciated the cleanliness (witnessed sand swept from the steps between the beach and pool areas, loose rocks brushed into appropriate garden areas, outside guardrails disinfected etc. on a daily basis, above and beyond our room service), the hospitality (every employee was friendly, conversational, accommodating), the feeling of safety, the menu selection (only one place for breakfast, but wasn't too crowded, and we didn't repeat location or types of food too many times), excursion opportunities easy to book. The only drawback in our opinion was the lack of something to do in the evening/after dinner. It would have been nice to watch a movie poolside, or s'mores by an open fire, bingo, etc. More games around the complex would be nice, too: shuffleboard, more corn hole games, beach/poolside ping pong table, large chess sets, bocce ball, etc. and more pool tables in a location other than the bar where teenage children were allowed to play.

Good stay, facilities are pretty new, in a quiet area with beautiful beaches and views! Hope to have more information about the activities organized by the hotel and resort! If provide transportation to and from hotel to airport would be even better.

We have stayed at the Royal Sands before and loved it. I was concerned somewhat after reading reviews that the food was different and terrible and the room service hours were cut. I did not find this at all. Although there is renovation going on in the restaurant, the food options on the buffet are large, breakfast buffet is great. If you do not care for the food on the buffet, you can order off the menu as well at every meal. Pool service was wonderful. Silverio always made sure I had what i needed. We had one of the updated rooms and I liked the decor, also, I was happy with the firmer bed. We were informed that construction was going on in our area but never heard any of it, must have happened while we were at the pool....Nightlife does not exist at this resort. This is a great place to vacation as a family.

staff is very friendly, room serive is wonderful ,the ocean view is beautiful,

Room. Food, Staff was very nice. We rate this Resort with excellent

This is my 4th time staying at Royal Sands. There was a definite decline in the food at The Veranda. I like the setup before the renovation. Don't take any type medical advice/purchases from cashiers.. The maid never kept enough water in our refrigerator. We could have cared less about the beer/soda, only water. Between breakfast and the pool bars opening we never figured out where we could get bottled water.

I followed rating of 4.3 out 5 prior booking a trip to choose Royal Sands. Definitely I could say rating should even higher. Great amenities, excellent selection of food and drinks. very friendly staff, even timeshare sales people very reasonable in their efforts. Probably I could ask only one thing to add night entertainment program.

Beach is amazing! Hotel is very nice. Miguel Chavez is the best server you will find in all of Cancun! Having to sign for your meals is a little annoying when other resorts don't have you sign anything. Highly recommend for family vacations. Very safe.

There was always a smile around every corner from the staff and they were always ready to help you in any way possible. This was our first trip to Cancun, Royal Sands, but it certainly will not be our last! Thank you so much for an awesome vacation!

We had to change rooms a day after we arrived due to timeshare arrivals. Concierge was not good at all. They tried to convince us to attend a timeshare presentation. Very annoying.
