They told us they didn’t have a room so that they would put us on a room on the side of the hotel. We thought it would be the same hotel but they put us on a horrible and old hotel next to Solaris called GM Caribbean. We paid for a 4.5 star hotel and they put us in a 1 star hotel that didn’t have a working elevator and we had to take the stairs to floor 5 with a baby and 5 year old plus walk a mile to get to the pools. We told them that we had booked our stay at Royal Solaris months in advance and we should have a room there. They told us to return at 9am the following morning and they would have a room ready. We did that and they still didn’t have a room for us. We got furious at them as we had been getting the round around since we arrived. They ended up putting us in a 1 bed room that had construction out on the balcony. We had construction men coming through our room twice daily. Invasion of privacy and we couldn’t use the balcony. They had about 3 restaurants that needed reservations many hours ahead and we weren’t able to get in on the 4 days as the reservations were full so we only went on 2 days. On those 2 days we saw that more than half the restaurant was empty so no reason why reservations got full so quickly. We found out that if we have $100 tip to the restaurants we would be able to get in which defeats the purpose of all inclusive. Overall horrible and a waste of our money and our children’s first vacation in Cancun. We have pictures of the construction.

Amazing

We had a great time at Royal Solaris Cancun. We were able to also use the facilities at GR Caribe which is located next door. The facilities were clean, the staff always cheerful and grounds were well kept.

Excellent service, excellent entertainment, excellent facilities and extremely clean facilities and rooms. Will definitely return. Food quality not the best, but the service made up for it.

We planned our first family Christmas vacation for 7 days 12/2022. I’m going to break down my review in categories. Hotel: Rooms were pretty standard. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. No major issues except a few days of cold water only. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning the rooms. Restaurants: we found that they opened late 7-11am. There was only 1 restaurant option and the food was mainly recycled. Omelet stations were a better options however depends on the server you get. One day my eggs were not fully cooked, another the servers were rude based on what you requested. ABSOLUTELY no alcoholic beverages served before 11am anywhere on the resort. What a bummer!!! Besides this one buffet option there are several other restaurants that require reservations. They were no consistent in their rules and here are a few examples. One allowed men to wear shorts and another didn’t despite the description saying casual. One night we arrived 15 min late (hard when you have 4 kids and it’s a torrential down pour, and poor signage throughout the resort to locate the restaurant) and we were seated no problem. The very next night and at the same restaurant we were turned away stating they have a 10min grace period. Despite explaining the circumstances and the restaurant being EMPTY they still turned us away. We left to discuss with a manager. I was further disappointed as the manager didn’t seem to have any managerial authority and after an hr returned stating the same thing an

I liked the staff. The hotel and amenities were great

First off it was way too many kids at this property. They were everywhere even singing karaoke at the night entertainment shows. I went with my husband and we’ll never stay here again. Second I was told they didnt have burgers but saw people who had burgers I asked a lady walking by and she said you had to ask them and they’ll make it for me. The next day I went back and asked and the same guy said no they didnt have burgers but the guy in front of me had a burger so I confronted him and he finally gave me a burger. I felt discriminated against as the ones who had burgers were white. After I complained to the manager they started putting burgers out for everyone. We were supposed to have a king bed and a balcony but they put us in a room with two small double beds and gave us an ocean front with no balcony which defeated the whole purpose. They gave us two beers no alcohol in our rooms. The housekeepers were nicer than the bartenders. The rooms were ok as far as cleanliness and the pool and beach was nice. The gym was very outdated. The night entertainment/comedy show was horrific. I would only recommend this place if you want somewhere thats kid friendly. The kids took over the entire resort. If you want a peaceful adult experience with good food, friendly bartenders and good nightly entertainment stay away from here.

Incident report Beach was beautiful language was problem very rare they speak English. Beach area was beautiful. Incident happen with me and my young kids . When I went to paid for checkout they ask me to pay for transportation 92 American dollors and I paid for everything. I told them I need private transport and I paid for private transport when I paid for checkout me and my family including 3 years old kid and 8 years old kid were sit in the transport was booked in on reception. They said we need to pick more people on the way to airport but I said I paid for private transport which was paid on the reception they ask me to leave the van my kids were crying and driver was very angry all agency members were reacted the same . Agency guy name roger he was very angry and said to me call the police and you will miss your your flight. My kids were crying . End of the time they did not paid me back for the transport and I booked another private taxi to the airport and I was very late for my flight. This was the bad experience in my life . I paid them 75 usd tips to all staff . I will never travel again in Mexico because they were very greedy for money and all staff was watching our Orbitz purple band and they force us to paid for the vip band and ask us to pay 60000 dollors for membership for 30 years . I would love to booked future Europe holidays with Orbitz. Thanks and appreciate

Our Front desk inform us that due to your double beds request we you offered you to stay at our sister hotel GR Caribe, We regret that you have been assigned a room far from the rest of the facilities. One of our elevators is undergoing maintenance, but we have another available for the use of our guests.We are currently doing improvement works in our building, which are highly necessary for which we apologize to our guests through a communication sent to their room, we apologize if you felt that we invaded your privacy. Our restaurants reservation system assigns seats every 30 minutes. Tables that are seen to be empty are ready to be occupied in nearby seats and do not have guests waiting while they already have a reservation.Your feedback is of great importance to us, as it helps us create strategies that will help us improve each and every day the service we offer our guests.
