The food was horrible! It was fried garbage and what was edible was cold. The front desk staff was absolutely incompetent. No one spoke or understood English. They are constantly pushing their timeshares. The beds are so hard and uncomfortable. My back still hurts from sleeping on that bed. The Grand Park Royal so much better. Stay far away from Park Royal.

The hotel is outdated. They had no selection on food. The beds were uncomfortable. I reserved VIP I never not VIP service at all . I will never go back . The only good thing that this hotel had is the service staff . But the reception staff are rude .

THe hotel is located in a great location across from the mall (la isla) and not far from the downtown scene. The hotel is old and outdated. There are only 2 places to eat on the resort and all nightly activities are geared towards kids.

State of the art facility, great beach (though heavy undertow). Great staff once you get past initial solicitations for tours etc. Gym/sauna cost $6 per day and the Italian restaurant is for 12 years old and older. These last 2 items are not transparent on website and we felt duped especially since we were attracted to Park Royal because it was kid friendly. Apon arrival we realized we were limited by our young kids to the buffet for 9 days. There are snacks/hamburgers and hot dogs available which were good. My big problem is the buffet. The breads, chicken, pork, fish, juices, and salads were good. The carbs were soaked in margarine. Rice, potatoes, pastas all soaked in it! Italian and Asian nights were laughable. Has the cook ever eaten these foods? Worst of all was 50% of food was cold!! Rows of beautiful pancakes and French toast all cold. Any hot food might be stone cold. Coffee too-often cold. Bacon, cappuccino, espresso, and toast exist but must be asked for. And no ice cream!! Desserts were just ok. After a week we learned what to look for and what to avoid. Disappointed much of the time.

Staff was amazing, especially in the buffet. Hostesses, waiters all very pleasing. Great hotel for the price!

There is a children water slide. The swimming pools are not big, and bit cold. The rooms are clean and big, but not sound proof. You can hear the people next room or corridor speaking very clearly. The food is good, but only one restaurant. The other one is for adults only.

in general all good.... even though not every personnel was pleasant, must would go the extra mile. the main pool (with the swimming bar) is remodeling and that was a total NEGATIVE for me. I heard of leaking ceilings on my floor (5) but did not witness them. Cheap tequila so headache first morning

Hotel is within walking distance to the outdoor shopping mall with the aquarium for small children to see and interact with dolphins (ticket needed). Very convenient location for people who don't want extensive excursion. We booked this hotel because they have a little playground for kids but too bad, it was under construction so the kids had to swim in the adult pool....

Great staff, great location but it's too family friendly not a party place. And it only has 2 outlets in the room and bad lighting. Lamps only in the room. Other than that nice cozy hotel! Th staff was super nice! Overall nice family hotel

Everyone was really helpful and nice but I think they need more restaurants in the hotel beside a buffet and one Italian restaurant .

We have been to Cancun 8 times, staying in large and small resorts. The Park Royal by far, had the friendliest staff that we have ever encountered. They were always so warm and helpful, going out of their way to be gracious. Hostess Fernanda and Bartender Arturo were exceptional, simply a delight to be around - they were the icing on the cake. The Food was excellent, with a wide variety of tastes, covering numerous cultures and offering new experiences for the pallet. Service was quick and accurate in a spotless atmosphere. We hope they will consider Ice Cream for dessert. The Entertainment covered the usual sporting events from croquet to water polo, with everyone participating, from young to senior. Everyone was welcome and enjoyed the variety of play. I do wish they would add Evening Shows, which we have seen at other motels. A wonderful, relaxing. adventurous and friendly environment, Kudos to the staff.

Stayed here for my sisters bachelorette and it was small, dirty and not worth the money. Staff and security were unreasonable and strict. Not a good experience and would never stay at a royal park hotel again.

Overall resort was nice, however the food was terrible

My husband and I stayed here for a week and it was really relaxing. At arrival the timeshare staff did I approach us but I was honest right off the bat on how we were Not interested and we were never bothered again. The buffet food was great! Every night was a different ethnic food. The rooms are super clean! Staff is super friendly! My husband and I did several daytime activities so we were back at the hotel for dinner or some drinks at the pool. The WiFi is slow. This is the only downfall we had.

From the beginning to the end, their customer service was wonderful. Every staff member was very helpful, accommodating, and smiled. Their are seven of us that traveled, and the only complaint was that the beds are hard.

Very poor variety of food at the buffet. Location and staff, excellent.

This hotel is worth it! The staff is very friendly, everyone in this area generally is. We stayed in a suite with a kitchen and living room! It was clean. The food is buffet style and pretty good. I personally did not get a chance to eat at the restaurant so make sure you make reservations with time!! The saying, you get what you pay for does not truly apply to this place because it is so cheap and the experience is not.

the hotel meets our expectations and we will come back again

Great staff..Enjoyable stay & location Every one is Friendly & helpful with all your needs...Small but comforable. Good beach & location...

This resort actually can cater to a family of five! The room was very spacious and a separate sleeping area. Great for quiet time away from kids at the end of a long day! The only thing I wish for is that they have more things going on at night. There is minimal entertainment each night happening. However, we were pretty tired by then anyway, so it wasnt a huge deal!
