I've been staying at the Omni Cancun for vacations since the 1980s and have seen a slow decline in the quality of the hotel. It used to be top shelf and comparable with the other finer resorts in the hotel zone. But with changes made in the rooms such as taking out the tubs and only having showers, some of the elegance is lost. Our shower had cold water for the first five minutes and the new setup causes the bathroom floor to flood. Also the phone did not work and our beds were full rather than Queen. It was difficult to fit three folks comfortably for sleeping so we had to ask for a rollaway bed. Altogether that took up more room than two Queen-sized beds. It was difficult to adjust the air conditioning controls so the room would stay cool rather than freezing. Now for the good things... all of the staff is amazing and well trained - from the groundskeeper to the chambermaids to the waitstaff and front desk people. They truly are the reason I keep going back to the Omni. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. The hotel works very hard to present theme dinners and stage musical events as well. It does get pretty loud so I would caution anyone with kids to book a room on the lagoon side. The Omni Cancun is still a fine resort but I would suggest investing in queen size beds for better comfort and making all the restaurants available without reservations to the guests.

Good service. Would be back in the future. Staff was nice, spoke English and Spanish. Welcomed us and was very attentive.

It was a nice stay and very beautiful. Unfortunately they require reservations for all the restaurants except the buffet for dinner which you should try to get the day you arrive. The restaurant menus are very simple but pretty good. The buffet seemed to serve the exact same things every day but you could get breakfast and lunch at one of the other restaurants without a reservation. The staff is very attentive and consistently offers food and drink. It was very beautiful and I don’t know that I’d go back there again but I’d recommend someone else to go for the first time.

Beds are hard as a rock and only allowed 2 beers in the mini fridge. But overall it’s a nice hotel with a really great staff!! Convenience store across the street for anything you might need. Dinner reservations can become hard to get so I would recommend booking them as soon as you arrive because the food at the restaurants with reservations is amazing.

Great location nice beach and friendly activities staff

This was my first experience with an all inclusive hotel and it did not disappoint! Dining: The Paloma (buffet style dining) was perfect for grabbing food inbetween daily activities. Each day there was a different theme to dinner but breakfast was my absolute favorite meal. For lunch, nothing could beat beachside service at the Pina Colada. Dinner at each restaurants requires a reservation which unfortunately my boyfriend and I were unable to secure as DaVinci (the fancy Italian restaurant) was booked up. However, on Saturday night we thought we'd try out luck and we walked in to find they were able to accommodate the two of us for dinner! At each restaurant the portions aren't outrageous so you can sample a few dishes without feeling like you've overdone it. Everything was delicious! Drinking: My favorite place was KuKu's pool bar right on the beach. The pina coladas were amazing and when I got tired of those the bartender was quick to whip me up another fruity specialty. My boyfriend and I would get there when it opened and had no trouble getting a seat in the pool, however by 1-2pm it would become quite crowded. Definitely the place to be for socializing and listening to great music. Lounge was great for late night drinks. Room: We had a lagoon view with private balcony. Minibar in the room had two beers, two sodas, and two waters restocked each day. Room service was also fantastic for the nights we wanted to stay in a recover after a day of drinking and sunbathing.

The staff was super friendly and attentive. Arturo at the pool bar was great. The food was delicious! We had a wonderful stay. The only suggestion is they need more lounge chairs around the main pool. We loved the music and the activities around the pool but it was hard to get a chair.

Excellent services. Wonderful stay and delicious foods.

We had such an amazing time at the Omni. The room was amazing (recommend ocean view) the food was great staff was friendly and we had a blast all around. Highly recommended.

Continually staff wanting you to take the 90 minutes of your time for the buy in. Couldn’t walk through the lobby without getting ask. Food was not as good as we have had at other places, not much variety

The hotel is a bit smaller than most in the area. but a nice hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The food overall was disappointing, except for the Asian restaurant and the little place right on the water's edge that offered seafood selections. Water volleyball only lasts an hour and they immediately take the net down. Beach volleyball only lasts an hour....so be there right on time is you want to play. This hotel is more for people wanting a little less noise and activity. The staff was very nice. I enjoyed my stay but would try somewhere a little more active next time.

This was my first time in Cancun and it was a blast! The beach was fantastic (minus some spots with pesky seaweed) and there were always comfy lounge chairs available. There are copious bars with a great selection of drinks. The staff is WONDERFUL. They always had a smile on their face. Even though our check in person mentioned the hotel was at 96% capacity, we never felt as if it was "crowded". Never waited more than 2 minutes for a drink or a table. If you are night owl, then this place probably isn't for you, everything shuts down after 9 more or less

Great location and Friendly services. Convenient food access and selections.

We all enjoyed the stay in this hotel for this trip

Had a great stay at the Omni Cancun hotel! My partner and I chose the oceanview room and it was amazing!!! The hotel was clean and the staff was very attentive! I have no complaints.

Fantastic...the first couple of days we had cool water only, it was very uncomfortable to take a shower but for some reason day 3 we had hot water. Other than that it was really good

the hotel nice clean , the food good, nice location. the staff very friendly

Check-out is 12 noon sharp, no exception unless you are willing to pay extra fees. Enjoy the pool, beach, food and drink before noon because once you check-out you are expected to just sit in the lobby and await your cab to depart. You lose a few hours of all inclusive as you likely arrived after 3pm on arrival day and are forced to check out at 12 noon on departure day. Once you check out those wristbands will be removed and that is it for enjoying this establishment. Makes for a sour ending to an otherwise enjoyable stay. Especially if your flight isn't until late afternoon, enjoy the lobby decor.

This was our first all inclusive. We were greeted right away by super friendly, inviting people. Checking in is a breeze. Our room was lovely..with one snafu..we booked a king bed and were given a room with 2 queen beds. I will be sure to pay attention to that upon my next check in. (they offered a switch but we were already set in and the room we got was really nice). It had a marvelous lagoon view. Sunsets were majestic! The restaurant staff, as well as all other staff were so kind, yet professional. We did not eat anywhere but the buffet. Enjoyed every experience from the meals to our servers. Wonderful! We were asked to sit through the "join our club" presentation by Poncho. He was informative without being pushy. I never felt the need to avoid him, which is the common theme in other similar situations. He simply presented the option and left us alone to choose. And, we were offered a free gift to sit through it. I chose Parasailing......Do It people. BTW, they have some really cool villas. Wowsers! While enjoying our stay on the beach, the servers were so attentive. Vacation made easy. I felt so pampered. Memo, the activities man was spectacular. He made games inclusive and exciting. His personality and wit is the perfect fit. I loved it. Words do not describe the absolute beauty and serenity of our experience. Thank you Omni, Cancun and Staff. We will be seeing you again

No reservations available (at anytime )for our 4 day stay at any of the better restaurants on site. No king size bed available either, so don't go for your honeymoon. Lots of stairs throughout. Taxi fare very high in Cancun.
