Room was clean. Amenities good. My only complaint is that when I made the booking, I didn’t realize all the little extras that were going to add up. I do appreciate this hotel in downtown Tacoma, but $26 a day plus tax for parking is excessive and it would be nice if that was either included in the cost or just more upfront about the cost. You have to go digging for this.l information- and I didn’t know I was going to have to pay for parking until I got there. No free breakfast and wifi for a fee. With the fancy lobby, all these extras just makes it feel cheap. All these extras feels like nickel and diming and the cost goes up. I am an IHG member so I got free wifi- but to compare, I am now on a work trip at a Staybridge, which is also an IHG hotel. Free (and delicious) breakfast, free wifi, free (and good) dinners Monday-Friday with a complimentary alcoholic beverage. Good coffee maker in the room that makes a full pot. Yet the Staybridge feels less “fancy” than this Marriott- but their attention to detail and makes the stay so much better. So this is a nice Marriott- my main complaint is about all the extra costs that seem a little hidden.
