Ballard Bunkhouse 2nd flr unit near ent. district. Parking & free level 2 chrgr
We use our experience working with scientists to deep clean after every guest. All surfaces either wiped down with bleach or a disinfectant solution. From door handles and appliance knobs to bed frames and furniture. All sanitized for your protection! 5 blocks from Swedish Ballard and all the food options Ballard has to offer.
Second floor of a duplex w/ loft and a 25' Airstream. king in loft, queen - trailer, queen sofa bed, only full bath is on-suite to the main bedroom with queen.
The space This is the second and third floor of a 1900 duplex with it's own entrance. Just 5 blocks from Market street, you'll be a perfect quiet distance from Market street and the Ballard Entertainment district. 2 blocks from 15th Ave and a D-line RapidRide stop so it's very accessible to bus-lines as well as a quick drive into downtown and blocks from all of the restaurants, nightlife and shops Ballard has to offer. Just 20 - 35 minutes to the airport by car. Large equipped kitchen with washer and dryer. Apartment is approx 500 sq feet on the first level (which is the 2nd floor of the building first floor has a separate entrance and is another listing) with another 200 square feet in the loft area (3rd floor). There is a unit below this one so while there is a lot of private sleeping options it’s not a party space.
A lot like tiny house living but spacious at the same time. Then another 200 plus square feet in the Airstream in the back yard. The large windows provide great light and give the unit a very open feel. Vented skylights keep the loft and entire space extremely comfortable during the summer. 8 can sleep here two to a bed utilizing the loft but it would be best if everyone is family or well acquainted as the only bathroom is off the bedroom, with an additional toilet in the trailer. The toilet in the Airstream is functional and at some point will have a shower and sink installed. Currently it's just the toilet partitioned from the space by a frosted glass wall.
I use high quality linens and bedding is triple sheeted or duvet covers used and laundered after every guest. Kid & pet friendly but the loft does not have a railing around it so young children would need to be watched closely, my son lived in this space until he was 3 and we haven't had a fall yet. There is not a railing around it as it's a hip roof and people negotiate the loft ladder differently and a railing feels like it would be more of a trip hazard as you're negotiating the upper space. There is just one bathroom and not a huge amount of communal space so I don't ever want to misrepresent the property and want to make sure people understand the layout so please check out the floor plan in the pictures.
Wireless internet reaches all throughout house and airstream. Smart TV’s with local channels in the living and sleeping areas. There is a key ring by the back door that has the back door and trailer key on it.
When booking this listing can you please include in your initial message that "I understand the layout". It's such a great space but only if you understand its Bohemian nuances.
Guest access This is the second and third floor (loft) of a 1900 Duplex and a 1959 Airstream trailer. The house has its own entry with no shared spaces with the first floor unit.
Other things to note This is an old home and sound travels easily. I want your stay to be pleasant and I realize you may be on holiday but I would ask that you just be respectful of the downstairs folks. There is a door at the top the stairs that insulates much of the sound when kept closed and we just ask that you be conscious that someone is living below you.

Very interesting place to stay!
Chris is very kind and helpful with renting this property. He gave us a summary of how the rooms are broken up and other house rules. Everything was very clean and well organized. It was real fun staying the night here.
Thanks Chris!

Perfect for our family of 4
My family was displaced while we were having work done in our basement. We needed a place to do online learning. My teens were able to get online with the wonderful access at the house and there was plenty of space for our 2 teens and 2 parents.

Very quiet and comfortable
We stayed one night after a long day of travel. I was traveling with my four grown sons and the house was perfect for us. We enjoyed the patio are and the living room tv. We used all the sleeping areas and loved it
Chris was great at communicating with me. He also welcomed us with goodies and his coffee and maker was amazing. I’m pretty picky about my coffee and loved his.
Overall it was a great experience.
Thanks, Chris!

Charming Property in Great Neighborhood
My husband and adult daughter and I stayed at the Ballard Bunkhouse for 3 weeks in February. We were there for my other adult daughter's surgery, and rented both upstairs and downstairs units. We love the downstairs unit with full kitchen, big windows and two bedrooms. The upstairs unit has a loft which I used often for zoom yoga classes. Both units are fully and thoughtfully stocked with coffee, filters, creamers, fluffy towels, soap and shampoo. The neighborhood is very walkable to the Ballard locks, multiple restaurants, and other Seattle neighborhoods. But perhaps best of all is the owner, Chris. He was so understanding when we had to reschedule our daughter's surgery, and even brought over a gourmet food basket the day of the surgery. We were also here for the huge snowstorm, and Chris came by to shovel snow. There is a deck outside with table and chairs and umbrellas too.

Loved the location of this place. Very walkable and near many restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and parks. Spacious place and so nice that Chris has a food and water bowl for the dog! Highly recommend this spot if you are considering Ballard!
