Have stayed here many times since The Fitz closed. First the cons: Rooms are somewhat dated (no usb ports) shower heads are fine if you are 5ft tall (should be a foot higher) The loss of the buffet had us walking over to J resort (it was actually cheaper for 2 there than at Millies for dinner) the beds were a little lumpy this trip. The pro: Love the pool and pool area. Gaming floor is spaced well. Atmosphere is good around casino and did not have that "old" smell.
$20 to check-in 1 hr early ridiculous. &48 for resort fee ridiculous. Fromt desk agent very sour with no smile. Looked miserable at her job. Hair dryrr not eorking. Bed way too soft to the point you sink in. Coffee shop great servers and service. Ridiculous minimum bets too high. Not enough tables open.
I am not going to lie, based on other reviews I was a bit nervous to stay here but was pleasantly surprised. Like others have said, the decor is old but we liked staying here. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, location was great - loved the access to the other 2 casinos. Overall I would stay here again.
The room was nice and in good condition. We asked house keeping to more blankets 6-7 times and they brought extra pillows but we never got extra blankets. When we checked out they said house keeping said we had “maxed out” our blankets and they could not give us anymore even though we never got any in the first place.
Non-smoking room had strong odor of marijuana. Very noisy inside and outside late at night. Could not adjust the air conditioning so room was very cold. Requested blankets were never delivered. The staff was very polite but not helpful. Horrible experience!
My room — 361 if I remember rightly — looked nothing like the photo representation on Orbitz. It was 20 years old and tired and sad, replacing the mountains with crimson neon that never turns off. The hotel in general is a bit sad — it is in desperate need of renovation, including having a bit of the Reno perhaps removed — the statute of Poseidon belongs in a museum of bad taste. There is a lingering smell of cigarettes throughout. And the food — it’s hard to mess up scrambled eggs but Millies managed to do so. If there’s a cheap special running and ole time Reno is what you want, you might like it. If you want a good meal and a modern room in pleasant surroundings, with a casino on the side, there have to be better options.
Inside THE ROW is nice, clean and updated with plenty of dining choices. The river walk is a short walk down the street and is beautiful unfortunately the properties you have to pass along the way are rundown and some are closed.
beds weren't good
Clean and kind staff. Traveled with family and this is a good location to stop. Parking was not an issue and not hard to find the hotel location. Elevators are accessible with room key. This makes me feel safe during my stay. Will stay here again.
We stay at this hotel at least 5 times a year and always have a great time. Not sure what had happened this time. Our stay was extremely awful. At check-in our room type wasn’t available yet, we paid for an upgrade, went up to the 22nd floor to find out that the room that we paid extra money for was not cleaned yet. Went back to the FD again and all of a sudden the room that we had booked in the first place was available. We asked Sofia to downgrade us back to the small spa players suite and refund our money for the upgrade since we weren’t upgraded, she promised to do that( I see the charge, but no refund yet on my cc statement). We always book that room type because we like jacuzzi with jets. Well Jets in room 1500 don’t work. Not even sure why we paid for it this time. Pillows were hard as a rock, and the mattress was super soft. It’s like you are sleeping as a letter “Z”. No rest at all. We came home exhausted, after a little “ vacation “. As long as we’ve been coming there, it’s the first worst experience ever.
I must have gone down to the casino floor between a dozen and two dozen times, and could never take a direct route to where I wanted to go. Signage with directions to various parts of the property always had an incomplete list, resulting in hunting for the right sign with the right directions. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and never spent so much time trying to 'find my way'.
We were a late check in for only a one night stay. We’re only there to sleep and leave the next morning to travel to Lake Tahoe. Everything was fine except there was no hot water in the bathroom that night. I had plan to report it the next morning, but it seemed to have finely warmed up by the time we got up. Also electrical outlets for charging electronic devices were sparse. However, for a 50 year old hotel, it was pretty good.
Highly disappointing when the cafe for breakfast isn’t even open for the entire day. Overall, very poor food experience. Customer service is clearly secondary to profit. Had a power failure setting off “fire alarms” and the alarms could not be heard in our room, so safety is also a concern. Doubtful, as of today, that we will ever be interested in going back
