Well first of all the door had to be unlocked by a staff member each time I went out of the room because the key maker was broken. Then the air conditioner dripped but all the facilities came said we will keep an eye on it .. had to put a bucket under the drip and empty it every day . That whole place needs attention!!! Went out of town for a few days and nobody cleaned the room because I forgot to take the Do not disturb sign off the door before I left. So got back few days later everything still all not cleaned. This is totally unexplainable !!!!

We love the staff, they treat us like family. Always in need of some upgrades, but it is clean and functional.

Good area, close to beach. Needs some updating and maintenance.

The property is falling apart, many issues including broken concrete stairs, rebar sticking out on patio from missing finials. empty planter boxes on patios. sheets with rust stains, pillow cases stained, water faucets that done even work. Missing art work in the room, towels bars missing and left with only partial parts, a cut out in the wall in bathroom you could see daylight. Broken chaise lounges on decks. Staff service was excellent and very accommodating

Low water pressure or no water pressure if hotel was highly booked. Missing trim work in room and throughout the hotel. Holes in walls. The elevator didn't go to the sixth floor consistantly.

One of the worst hotel experiences I've encountered. Anyone thinking of staying at this resort should look elsewhere. They took us up to the room and first we thought wow this will be great, it had a great view of the beach and ocean. Then we went inside. It was big with 2 bedrooms and a full living room. The guy went into the bedrooms and turned the AC on but ignored the one in the living room and just said to wait until the evening to get some ocean breezes. Needless to say it didn't work. He left and we started to look around. The furniture was literally disintegrating. Then we went to go to the balcony and noticed that all the locks were broken so the doors could just be opened. The balcony opens onto the common area where the pool and bars are. There were no towels and no toilet paper anywhere in the room. There was also no phone in the room so we had to go down to the front desk to ask for them. We went to the front desk to ask if they can fix the locks since anyone can just walk in. Their response was "shh don't tell anyone." We asked to be moved try said no they couldn't give us another room. At this point we went to look for another hotel. We found one we could go to the next day but figured to ask one more time. Asked the front desk again if they could move is the next day once some people checked out, they said they weren't sure and couldn't guaranty they could. We booked the other hotel. We then had to fight with them during the rest of trip to get unused nights.

I don't mean this in a bad way but... You get what you pay for. Beautiful ocean view room but the place is not fancy at all which works fine for me.

Great location. Hotel needs work. Facets in bathroom were loose in wall and hard to adjust. Rundown property that needs to clean halls and put money into building.

No hot water in the shower. What was even worse was the lack of water pressure once they "fixed" the water temp. Absolutely abysmal. The water from the shower head was not even enough to qualify as a trickle. The constant thumping of the music from their beach club across was even louder in the room than on the street. The food at their restaurant was terrible. We tried it for breakfast once and were served a COLD omelette and scrambled eggs. I don't know how anyone can mess that up. On top of that, they served soupy, cold mashed potatoes in stead of hash browns as listed on the menu, which were obviously left over from last night or before. Don't make the mistake of staying at Blue Chairs.Go to Mantamar on the next block. For just a little bit more $, you'll at least be comfortable.

This hotel is terrible. The rooms smell horrible. The elevator is a hot box that moves at a snail's pace. The pools are sad. I was there a week and thee wasn't a single person in any of the three pools. The beach restaurant and beach are also terrible. The beach chairs and umbrella's are about a single foot apart. It's crowded and uncomfortable. The food was awful. We only ate there once. The staff had better looking food.

The view was amazing . Can see the beach and got a big room and feet away from water

It’s so nice to have the same staff year after year and for them to recognize me and remember my preferences from prior stays!!

I have stayed here in the past and was willing to give it another try. I got a Junior suite and was not very impressed. The pictures on the internet are much nicer than in person. The rooms are not horrible, but they could be a lot better. It’s little things such as there not being any type of shelf in the shower to put our toiletries, not leaving enough towels, dirty floors. With all that said, the location is prime and the views from the rooms are absolutely gorgeous. The staff was also very nice.

Room was clean and everything worked. The main pool area was a mess. The staff were friendly. Jair the masseuse was excellent. Had a ocean front room with beautiful of ocean. Can't complain overall.

It's hard to believe that a big hotel like Blue Chairs doesn't have the required staff and management. It has the best location of Playas de Los Muertos, but other than that it needs a lot of work/upgrades. Since I recall it's been years of construction already - not good.

I called 3 days Prior to arriving to make sure my reservation was ready with all the amenities requested. We get there late, and our room was not ready. They upgraded us to a master suite, god the most horrible room. It stunk very bad. I immediately ask for a different room, so they set us up in a regular room while our jr suite was ready. We walk to our room and what a surprise, there were guest in the Room. It was the most embarrassing situation. The next day, yes they did give us a master suite for the inconvenience. But not worth it. Everything was out dated and the bed sheets had stains. The elevator is in very very bad shape. I will never stay in this hotel. Horrible!!! I had the chance to talk to other guest who felt the same. I hope my review helps others make a better selection when booking. The pictures of the hotel on their website is bs.

We were treated so well by the entire staff and they really made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is older than it looks in the pictures and don't expect too much from a hotel that was a 5 star back in the 90's. However, the staff really made up for it. So helpful and accommodating. The beds were really comfortable and the views were really pretty good. Go for the ocean views and higher floors, its work the extra. Don't look at this as somewhere peaceful and quite, look at it as somewhere central and right on the beach. Not a family place.....no children. The breakfast at the beach café is good and cheap

This is the 3rd stay for me and I loved it, AGAIN! Great location, super friendly staff. Price is great to treat yourself to a big suite. Can't say enough! ¡Gracias, Blu Chairs!
