First let me say that the staff is great. The food and drinks are also great. The view is great. Right on the ocean. The price is very reasonable. But this property is dated and in need of a remodel. We stayed here 20 years ago and not much has been done to upgrade the rooms. For example, we were on the 8th floor and the elevator was not working all the time. That's a pretty steep hike. Also, they hosted a wedding party that had a rock and roll band playing until 1:00 AM Overall, we probably won't go back.

nice clean area--a bit further out for me

Iliked that it was a smaller property. It was old and needed a lot of renervating and remodeling.

Private beach

It was nice and quiet. It needs to be updated, the bed had bed bugs.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 starts is because it’s not super nice, or new or fancy but... it felt like home, so much that we are planning on making it our yearly family vacation. The private beach with a rock ridge made it super safe for the kids, there are 2 pools that we enjoyed very much and they have the best attitude, fun activities, good food and a family atmosphere. Love it! Can’t wait to go back.

Our experience at Costa Sur was beyond fabulous!! First the staff was exceptional. They were not just friendly, they all became immediate friends that cared and were helpful in every way. Second the cleanliness was amazing. The rustic beauty is made all the more first-rate by the sparkle of the rooms and all the facilities. Third the food and drink. The chef, the kitchen, and the bar, are all experts in presentation and range of delicious options. Fourth the location. A short distance south of Old Town via a 10 peso bus ride or quick taxi, you are close to the action but far enough away to feel secluded. Plus the sunsets are sensational, the ocean cove is perfect, the pools are warm, and the patios delightful. A special shout-out to Jose Garcia and every single staff member for making our stay more, bigger, and better. We will be back!!

THE SUPERB STAFF IS EXCELLENT, MAKES YOU FEEL HOME . PRICE IS SECOND TO STAFF....

Our room was above some smokers below us and it was always smoky in our area.

Having a private beach should be a benefit, but because of the position of the building, there’s no sunlight until late afternoon & there is no food or cocktail service on the beach. The pool and pool area are way too small for the number of units in this resort. Even at 9am, ALL of the loungers by the pool were taken. Also, I tried the restaurant twice and food was terrible both times. Also, this is a “Time Share” and they’re very insistent on you attending their pitch & said, simply say Yes or No, but I said NO multiple times and felt 2 hours of my vacation was wasted. The BEST part of hotel were the massages. The Massage Mgr, however was a rude, terse, crabby woman. There is a bus stop right outside, which is convenient, but part of town in PV it drops you off isn’t convenient if you’re going to the Romantic Zone

Old , outdated hotel with sub par food and facilities in a lovely location . No beach if that’s what you are looking for but a great snorkeling rock enclosed ocean pool. Bus stop outside resort so convenient when you want to leave resort . ( which you will want to do)

Not as we remembered. Disappointed, but I know that manager will correct. But, happy to be here.

Nice location, private beach very small, pool area adaquete staff very friendly. The hotel needs to get rooms and interior more up to date.

Was alittle disappointed when we first saw are room old out dated but found out they were updating the even floored rooms unfortunately we were on 3 but after going down to pool and restaurant the staff is what really makes this place the location was also great 7 mi bus ride to town and 16 pecoes which is less than a dollar food was also great already to book another stay shout out to Claudia loved her

The hotel look was very nice. The staff were nice also. We had a few bad experiences, first with the construction work. We spent our day at the beach and upon our return to our room we opened our door to a very strong smell of gasoline. We thought it was the stove but turned out it was the air conditioning vents that were bringing in the construction workers gas powered machinery! It smelled very bad and we had to open all windows, front door and sliding door to air it out. We were told that they cant do anything about it since the staff needed to continue their construction work. We were unable to use the A/C and it was a very hot day. In addition, the food was not so great, the elevator broke during our stay and we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to lobby. Lastly, the overall crowd is older seniors. It was more like a senior center!
