This is our second stay and last. Hotel stuff was terrible had to call for everything 3 times. Sink was clogged shampoo dispenser broken, fridge broken and one of the days we did not have water so had to call maintenance for that as well. We had premium access to bar were expensive bottles of alcohol that were emptied were refilled with who knows what as we marked one of the bottles and saw it full the next day. Our room keys did not work after couple of days so had to get that fixed as well. Overall not worth the price.

My wife and I just got back from our fourth stay in ten years at Barceló Vallarta and have always enjoyed our time there. The staff regardless of their position are excellent, always say hello with a smile and ready to help you with whatever you need. Plenty of things to do, snorkeling, jet skiing and fishing right in the bay with the zoo a short walk through the village and tour pickups right from the beach. if you want to go downtown there are plenty of taxis or catch the bus right out front for a few peso's. The only negative I have is from past experience the food in the buffet seems to have gone downhill a little. Other than that great place for couples or family.

Excelente ubicación excelente servicio y sobretodo excelente playa Estaría muy bien que tuviera una disco o antro tipo el de la Riviera

This is by far the best experience I've had in Mexico! The staff at the Pccidental goes above and beyond to make sure that you're well taken care of! Definitely stay in the Royal Level. The fine dining restaurant up stairs is unbeatable and the private pool and beach make it even better. We will be making the Occidental our yearly trip from now on!

When we arrived at the hotel the front desk staff was very rude and unwelcoming. No tour of the property... had to figure out where everything was located. Cabs expensive. Food was below average, bland... Sheets on my bed were wet in the beginning, had to call to get it replaced. Towels were ruff and stiff. My room had a scent of moth and mold. Refrigerator did not work everything was warm. Even the staff at the excursion desk unwelcoming and not giving of any information. Micheal Jackson show was good!

This hotel is just ok. It's far from town which I knew and there's nothing near by unless you take a taxi somewhere. We got a regular room with two twin beds ever though we were told it was one king bed. We didn't care too much since the view was nice though. The maids cleaned daily but the floors were not clean. Our mini bar was not stocked daily but we just went downstairs too the bar. I was really disappointed in the food. The buffet was just okay. Some things were good. Others were not. Don Quixote was very good. Los Arcos for dinner was ok. Our steaks were overcooked but had good flavor. Kyoto is a miss. Sushi had no flavor and it took a long time to greet our food. We got food poison the last day not sure what we ate? I felt queasy all day but my husband had it worse. He spent all night in the bathroom. Service overall around the resort is hit or miss. Service in the buffett was good but around the snack bar and cantina you have to save them down or get it yourself.

You get what you pay for... And that's what we got. Valet and main dinning staff were great.

The hotel is very nice and food/drinks are great. The hotel is adjacent to a local market and amenities which allow for much cheaper excursions than paying through the hotel. Spa services outside the hotel are significantly better and less expensive as well. This is a great resort for both kids and their parents.

Hope you brought crackers with you. Food was just not good. Bland and lacking seasoning. Minimal choices of restaurants and booze unless you want to pay EXTRA for the premium package.

Have stayed at Barcelo 3 previous times and loved it. Would love to have written A+ review. But we were told had to leave Barcelo and go to their sister Resort in Nuevo Vallarta due to a company booking out the whole complex after we had already made our reservations to all high school students. Makes me very gun shy about ever going here again. May have to go back to Hyatt Ziva, formally Dreams which is just down the road from Barcelo.

This hotel was rated 4 1/2 stars. Sorry, we give it a 3 star. The hotel is very small, the beach was disappointing and was basically a dock for the boats. It was open to the locals and it was quite crowded. We chose not to use the beach. The gym was probably the worst thing I could say for the hotel. Broken equipment and missing weights, but it was clean. The food was just ok, and we chose to eat at the specialty restaurants to get better food. Again those were just okay as well.

We loved the distance from town but also the local community right across the street and next door. The staff were very knowledgable, friendly, and didn't just push us toward experiences that cost money. The front desk staff, Ricardo, was the most helpful and fun to deal with. Oh, and the food is amazing. Definitely try the Japanese restaurant. We highly recommend!

We have been to other Barcelo resorts before, but this one falls a little bit short. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are decent sized but the bed and pillows are not particularly comfortable. The staff was polite and gave very good service. The food and drink quality were a little disappointing. Although there were plenty of choices, the quality was pretty mediocre. Other Barcelos were better. Concierge service was difficult to come by. She was always on the phone, and not always available. She wasn't particularly helpful. A good concierge should bend over backwards to accomadate thier guests. If you choose this hotel, you won't be disappointed, but you probably won't be wowed either.

First visit to this hotel and had a great time. Rooms are very clean and staff is very good. Food was good too.

Wonderful experience all around. Good food, beach accesd

We love Barcelo. The whole experience is fun and comfortable. The staff is the best. They are always trying to please you and smile, and they always dress professionally and treat you like you are special. The staff expresses their gratitude for your choice to stay at Barcelo. The restaurants have a nice variety of foods, and you can eat as healthy as you want to. Always fresh fruits and freshly squeezed juices. Omelette bar is great and one of my favorites are the soups offered, even at breakfast. Thanks for a fun and enjoyable week.

Is fantastic and the grounds and amenities are pretty good. The staff is friendly and works really really hard. The events and activities for ferret best. The food was mediocre and the fancy restaurants were hard to get into. The regular and reservation restaurants are also very best. The biggest disappointment was that my entire family had food poisoning has did everyone we met. We all violently threw up and missed very expensive excursions that we had paid for. They also had Extremely Loud Music going into the early morning which made it very difficult to sleep especially when sick. Overall this is a really nice place and they try hard however they need to fix their food issue and they need to turn down the music which is really quite annoying. The people that we meant we're great and the beach is quite nice too. We did see a lot of people with bug bites however we were okay and didn't get any. My entire family did get severe rash all over the entire body from the food poisoning which still has not gone away now that we are home. Apparently this is quite common. Also as others have mentioned, do not book it excursions inside the hotel or get cash as they devalue the dollar when they apply their own exchange rate.

Nice hotel but it didn't meet all my expectations. It's smaller and the buffet isn't the best, 101 ways to cook telopia if you are looking for seafood. Pools are good, beach not so much. It's small and not comfortable to lay on due to the sloop. Evening entertainment is better than other all inclusive we've stayed at. Massage place recommended by Suzy on the beach is the best.

Wonderful, great staff. Very friendly, and they understood English.

special thanks to humberto, making our stay fantastic every night there was a show activities every day. our second trip back within a year just because of the service and amazing staff many thanks
