This resort was really relaxing. We were in the new section of the resort and on the Pent House level. The room was amazing. All rooms are ocean view so not a bad view to be had. The food was ok. Everthing was order off a menu except a couple nights were buffet. The breakfast in the morning had a buffet in one location but it was not as fresh as the made to order. The one thing that was disappointing was after every meal, all inclusive or not, you had to sign off on the items you received. The down fall to that was it took forever most times for the waiter to bring the bill. The waiters around the pool did an amazing job. You really never had to order they just kept bringing you refills. Food around the pool was really good too. There were no pool activities except black jack or water aerobics. I always liked water volleyball and other fun pool activities at the other resorts. Gave you something fun to watch even if you didn't participate. Over all this resort was relaxing however definitely no nightlife here. The shows were very mundane.

The food at the property is the main reason why this resort we get three stars for me. I am very disappointed with the food at this resort because it lacked flavor and the options are limited. Other than this, everything thing else was great for the most part.

While my family and I enjoyed our time at Sunset Plaza, there is still something left to be desired. This resort gave a sense of a “locals” weekend retreat and not the normal on vacation vibes you expect at an all inclusive. The resort is immaculate and everyone is welcoming and friendly. There are renovations going on and they are building an additional wing, but that wasn’t an Issue for us. There was absolutely nothing to do during the day for activities. We were traveling with friends and we had our kid with us. The kids area was closed the entire time we were there. Most resorts offer daily activities for all to enjoy, but this particular one didn’t. Also, the dining options are very limited. While I can appreciate the “no buffet” approach, the limited dining options made this a disaster for our kids. Like all all inclusive resorts, there’s time throughout the day when the restaurants are closed, but there is always somewhere to grab a quick bite. This was not the case for Sunset. Sadly, this resulted in us having to venture out and find local dining options, which turned out to be fantastic choices! :) Overall, we enjoyed the experience at Sunset, but we would not return when we revisit Puerto Vallarta.

We have traveled to many all inclusive resorts. This resort while on the smaller side was very intimate. The staff was exceptional…Victor, Cesar, Gabriel and Jorge just to name a few. They treated us like royalty! The food was delicious as well and everyone was so inviting and helpful. We also enjoyed an hour long massage overlooking the beach that was so relaxing and well worth every cent! You will not be disappointed, the rooms were really nice and we were extremely happy with every aspect of our anniversary trip! Thank you again for a great first trip experience to beautiful Puerto Vallarta…we will definitely return!
