Can't finish the previous question. Negative My experience was not good!

Upon arrival we were given a courtesy upgrade! I was skeptical at first, but when I walked into the room I had a WOW moment! The room was spacious, very comfortable and more than I expected. Bathroom had a huge jacuzzi. Only thing missing was a kitchen. Cons: WiFi was shotty and had to go to lobby to connect. Otherwise, very happy with the accommodations and would definitely return.

We thought it was outdated with minimal furnishings. The staff was friendly. We didn't like the timeshare presentation, pushy sales people. They didn't like my husband not agreeing to their offer.

I had a great week in PV. I stayed at The Krystal because a group of us meet there every year. I would recommend hotel to friends, however, I would make sure they are well aware that while the staff is excellent, the condition of the hotel is good but not a 4 or 5 Star Hotel. It was a good value for the package deal that I was able to book. I had a very comfortable room and will request this room when I visit again in November. There are many excellent restaurants in the area. The food at the hotel is mediocre at best. I did eat breakfast at the hotel because it is relaxing and lets me start my day at the beach very relaxed. The staff is excellent and the service is top-notch. I am impressed every year when I am greeted not only by name but also with servers remembering how I like my coffee and which fruit I want!

I've stayed in all inclusive resorts in other countries before, including in Mexico, and this was TERRIBLE. The restrictions on what is all included are too numerous to list in completion but some examples are: only 4 sodas stocked in room fridge for your entire stay bar is only open from 11am-11pm there is no creamer for coffee, only milk no room service the list goes on and on. There were 2 bars serving the entire resort and one was in the lobby four blocks away from the beach and pools. You had to wait in line-with wait staff who were serving the dining areas-to get a drink and it could take upwards of 30 mins. This resort is also NOT CHILD FRIENDLY! Despite being told I could request a crib when I made my reservation, upon arrival I was told they don't have any and it was suggested by staff that I go purchase one at Walmart. All of the pools were too deep for my 42inch child, including the kids pool which was actually a previous adult pool with a swim up bar which they simply renamed. They had a total of 3 high chairs which were split between the various restaurants and we would often be halfway thru our meal before it showed up. The kids playground was dilapidated and dangerous: slides were obviously coming apart and railings were missing at 5ft drop offs. The Kamp Krystal was only open once the entire time we were there and a staff member was just hanging out and didn't speak to us when we went in. The beach was dangerous and red flags were up warning against swimming. There was ONE breakfast and lunch dining option and it was a buffet covered in flies and fruit flies and I'm quite sure much of the food was recycled from one meal to the next. The three dinner choices were the same buffet from breakfast and lunch or a reservation required Italian or Japanese restaurant. We tried both during our stay and both were equally disappointing. Why not serve traditional Mexican fare rather than failing at a cuisine you are not known for?? We didn't come to Puerto Vallarta to eat watery Italian dishes or soggy Japanese buffet. Consequently, we spent the majority of our time (and money-humorous, given we spent thousands on an all inclusive expecting to have our food and drinks covered) OFF resort eating at a variety of local restaurants all of which were delicious. The only positive thing I can say about Krystal is that it was a cheap and easy taxi ride away from downtown so getting away from the resort was not complicated at all.

Awesome place but they need more personal during check in

nice grounds, great palapa pool area with view good service with friendly staff and beautiful fountains

Everything was great. We had a blast and would come again

Great location, excellent staff very friendly area

If you are going for a college-esk spring break trip, this is a great hotel. If you are looking for something a little quieter and nicer...I would look elsewhere. Food left much to be desired as well.

I have just returned from another relaxing, fun week at the Krystal in Puerto Vallarta. While it is not a Five-Star hotel it does, without a doubt, have a 5+++ group of employees making my (and my friends) stay safe, enjoyable and comfortable. The servers and bartenders continue to be the best ambassadors that any hotel could ask for. It is impossible to list all of them by names but many of the long time employees: Carlotta, Angel, Luis, Rene, Bruno, Roberto, "Artie", Palomine, Jesus (Chewie), and bartenders, Innocensio, Angel, Moises are THE BEST!!!!! The food is average but the service makes up for the lack of quality. Drinks are very good. The hotel has added a small, cozy bar in the lobby area. Open until 11pm nightly, it was a perfect place to meet friends. The bartender, Pedro, (and Angel one evening) not only mix good drinks but also are quick to visit with patrons making everyone feel welcome. My room was very clean and well kept. Maid service was excellent leaving an extra towel and blanket when requested. My friends and I spent most of the day on the beach which was cleaned and raked every morning. And, what a pleasure to have Carlos in the towel area always greeting us with a smile. Beverage and Food service on the beach is also available with long time employee, Kiki, knowing us by name and truly wanting everyone to have a good time. Location of the Krystal is excellent; close to the airport, Marina and shopping and a quick taxis or bus ride to town. The Krystal has gone through many changes over the years. I was disappointed the last couple of years in the upkeep of the rooms but this year I found everything much improved. One item of caution: It is not a good hotel for people in wheelchairs or with walking issues. The walkways are not smooth making it difficult to push a wheelchair and more difficult trying to walk if one uses a walker or cane. (There are carts to transport a person -- but one needs to be patient if ordering a cart as there are only so many carts and so many bellhops) I am looking forward to my next trip to PV. I will be staying at the Krystal; my home away from home!

Staff not great. Couldn't beg buy or steal coffee in the morning. The swimming pools were awesome.

Its an older hotel which can have complications with keeping up with maitenance. Good overall but could invest more inmaintenance to have it top notch!

Kind of old, the Room was clean, comfort and nice. The beach is ok but in that part the water is dirty, you need to get out of the city to visit a cleaner beach. For a bussines trip it was fine.

The pool area has just 2 umbrellas, for all the guess around the pools. That's nothing for the guess to try to be under the shade after being tired of the hot sun.

~26 yr old spring breaker wannabe~ The drinks were pretty weak, unless you find a waiter who understands that the stronger the drinks received, the bigger the tip he gets. Israel is the man to order drinks from. Otherwise it's better just to get a bottle down the road and some chase/ice. The overall service was what was expected for the price. Great value overall and a great central location for clubs/activities. Xtine is basically on campus and very close to Stana and La Leche. Well worth the $$ paid.

All-inclusive left something to be desired. The food was excellent, however the drinks were practically virgin. The beds were hard and sheets were scratchy.

Overall, I liked the location of the resort and how it looks outside of the room; it's very beautiful. The rooms are kind of old looking and my shower was clogged, so that was annoying. The Wi-Fi connection was really bad in the rooms, but I truly did not require it for this vacation. I would definitely stay there again since there were lots of young people, and the staff was great!!
