Nice place the buffet was smaller but you have full access to the larger one
95% of hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great view of the ocean on the 6th floor (Golden). When we arrived we were greeted with some topical drinks and quickly checked in. The bellman Carlos was very helpful showing us our room and the features of the hotel. Air conditioning in the room struggled to keep the room at a comfortable temp in the afternoon. Pools were great and they had activities in the afternoon (bingo, volleyball, etc.). You have to get up early to secure yourself a place by the pool. Housekeeping was initially below average but after talking to housekeeping and a tip things improved. Food and alcohol was hit and miss. Some items were excellent others were not good at all. Same for the 5 restaurants. Hotel maintenance was questionable as were the elevators.
We really enjoyed our experience here. The hotel was clean and updated. The staff was extremely helpful, Jose was a fabulous server. The food was good. Bed was not comfortable, but still better than nothing. Loved that the beach was so close and downtown and the airport was a short drive. Definitely would recommend to our friends and family and would stay there again.
staff, food, drinks, accomodations all around it's the place to stay.
Beds are very uncomfortable, bathrooms stink, you don't get what you reserve, very hard to communicate with staff members due to language, gym is terrible, it reminded me of my childhood neighborhood gym, oh let's not forget about the beach and the pool .. old people to down at 2am and reserve all the chairs and beds so even if you try to get down early your out of luck.. take my advise maybe spent little bit more and get way better experience.
Not a lot of restaurant choices or a lot to do. If you reserve a bed on the beach do it early like 7am, and be prepared to never relax cuz ppl walk by selling stuff ALL DAY LONG. It was nice to take advantage of the cheap massage tho and cute sun dresses but gets old fast! Pool activities they put on were fun, we had a couples massage booked but ended up being over on the kids side outdoors, no thanks! Was great for what we paid tho for 4 days!
Food and drinks were plentiful. Hotel was always being cleaned and prepared for the next event. Would recommend hotel to others and am planning a return trip for myself.
If the American discount chain Motel 6 were to build a 'resort' - The Crown Paradise would be it. The hotel facilities peaked in the early 80's about 30 years ago and have seen no updates since. The bathroom does not drain well so a stiff sewage smell abounds. The bed is comfy but only a thin blanket is provided. If you turn the A/C of you wake up in a pile of sweat. The hotel is an all inclusive - we stopped eating there the very next day. They hotel has restaurants which is simply prettied up buffet food. And oh the buffet... The food is on calibre of eating salted cardboard. They have assumed that since mostly Caucasians stay there - they must recognize anything past salt as too spicy. So to hell with the spice. Let just give them salt and sugar. In all fairness- you know that feeling you get when you purchase a room online and you have the gut feeling of "Crap - I shouldn't have done that..." I too had that feeling - but was didn't cancel the reservation. So the upside was I got to eat fantastic street food in PV instead.
This year was better than last. The hotel advertises "no spring breakers" and that is one reason we have come there many times. Last year was terrible with loud, rude spring breakers. This year better but still had some out of control kids who were drinking too much and making it miserable for we returning customers.
The staff go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. They have made improvements to the property each year the past three years that we have returned. The nightly entertainment has improved also.
Staff goes above and beyond to make you stay enjoyable. This was our third trip to this hotel. They put our name outside our room which really made us feel welcome. We received a special invitation to a returning guest dinner also. We were not able to attend but the thought was nice. They have entertainment every night and activities during the day if you want to participate. There are several restaurants to choose from and they always have the buffet if you don’t want to make dinner reservations. The entire staff is friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you are happy and have what you need. I will return again!!
All was good with the exception of a couple bumps upon check-in. Key card wouldn't open the door resulting in maintenance replacing mechanism, but then took our keys with him. Had to run keys down. Bathroom wasn't ready...wet towel on the tub, no other towels. Housekeeping staff responded immediately, cleaning the entire room again. After that, ALL was great! We like the new buffet for breakfast/lunch, the new process for dinner reservations over the phone, etc. Definately process improvements besides the cosmetic and other improvements. Wonderful weather! Husband enjoys "crazy volleyball", plenty of group exercise opportunities, i.e.: water aerobics, beach yoga, tennis.
This was our fourth return. Having previously spent 2 weeks at Crowne Paradis five years ago. The site is continually being improved.
This resort is truly one of a kind. We were immediately greeted by hotel staff upon arrival. The check in process was swift and they escorted us to our room and gave us a tour as we were on our way. The hotel and grounds were well kept. The restaurants were beautiful and had some of the most amazing food to offer. The staff was amazing, anything you needed they were swift with service.
Nice friendly staff. Beautiful location, drinks and food all day long.
Excellent except the loud noise of the music around the pool.
Staff is great from arrival to departure. No need for water shoes beach is clean and sand is nice. Hotel is older and you can see it in the rooms. Buffet is average but you can eat at al a cart resturants which I found food good. Its non smoking but not enforced very well. You have the ability to use club side as well. We found their buffet apealing with more options. The beach bar is a great place to grab a drink and watch the sunset. The pool is nice but need to get up early to reserve beds. We may return next year if the price is right.
We will go back to this resort. The staff is excellent, the rooms are great. We enjoyed the buffets. We had reservations for 10 at two of the restaurants while we were there, The Japanese restaurant and the French restaurant. My opinion is the same for both restaurants. 1. My food was barely warm. 2. I ordered a medium rare beef fillet. It was too tough to eat. I had to saw it to cut it. IT was well done and cold. 3. I ordered Shrimp and calimari yakisoba. Cold noodles with 1 shrimp and two calimari rings. I couldn't eat it. 4. French onion soup was barely warm, very thin broth with 2 or 3 pieces of onion and maybe a teaspoon of parmesan. MISO soup was cold and not recognizable as miso. I'mean not sure what it was. I couldn'the eat it. 5. The service was good, but the food was not.
Room is comfortable, clean with AC, but CNN is the only english station on the TV so off u spend a lot of time in the room (I dont) be warned. View is gorgeous, and grounds are well kept.
