OK, maybe 2.5 stars - room was comfortable and clean. BUT - NOTHING WORKS. Room #1 - toilet won't flush, sink didn't drain. Tried to call front desk - phone didn't work. Went down to front desk and told I had to vacate room IMMEDIATELY to another, because Room #1 had been booked for someone else; claimed they tried to call me (on nonworking room phone? ). Room #2 - by the pool, extremely noisy, reeked of air freshener / cleanser so badly we developed sore throats and had to leave window open despite noise. Also tub didn't drain, coffee maker was clogged (fixed it myself), and worst, NO INTERNET - a HUGE deal breaker Front desk treated me like an idiot when I brought them my laptop - but they couldn't get internet connected either. They blew me off with a hotline # to call - hotline told me they weren't "authorized" to help with WiFi connection. Hotel had a single public computer that was a 1990's DIALUP - incredibly slow, in a way too public place, powered by a hamster wheel probably, and unusable. Also, NO ELEVATOR. If you are handicapped or have heavy luggage, forget it. In fact, forget this place entirely, it's way overpriced for the quality.
We just needed a place for one night while attending an event in Portland. It lived up to our expectations, nothing more or less. It took a bit longer than expected to get checked in, as the front desk attendant also had to do other work (ie. checking the laundry room). But once we got into our room, it was clean and quiet. The location is pretty average, along a busy street surrounded by fast food restaurants. But it worked for a night.
I spent one night here. Check- in went smoothly. My friend and I were given 2nd floor corner end rooms in the main building which was a nice and quiet location away from the pool noise. The bed appeared clean and was comfortable. The room however wreaked of some kind of room deodorizer chemical smell when I first entered. I assumed the smell would dissipate after I left for an evening out as housekeeping just finished cleaning the room.. On my late return, the room still wreaked even after I had left the air conditioner on. I had a miserable sleep because of the smell. Also the ( clean?) cloth tub mat had someone's shaven hairs underneath it. (gross). The bathroom sink and bathtub drains backed up while in use. I later found out when I complained to the front desk clerk the next morning that all the hotel rooms were pet friendly (which I did not know) I was told that I could not be compensated for my inconvenience as my friend booked the rooms thru a third party booking agent. I will not stay there again .
It is a 2 star hotel for a reason but for what it is it exceeded my expectations. As other have said the rooms are the size of a suite at most hotels. I had one with a full kitchen on the ground floor. There was a bit of noise but I judge it by the star rating again. This was the closest hotel to an event I was going to and it served the need. I would say the bed was newer as it was very comfortable. Grocery store Fred Meyer) and multiple restaurants from fast food to sit down within easy walking distance. Special thanks to Danielle at the front desk who provided excellent service.
This was the first time we had stayed here. Our room was by the jacuzzi, right out the sliding glass door. The biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in. The full size kitchen was a happy surprise. Lots of free parking and most rooms have balconies or patios. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks.
This is an older hotel that provides amenities at a good price. Stayed here for 1 night in between trips to Portland and Seattle. Front desk service was friendly and they allowed me to check in early. Carpet is old and could use a renovation. Kitchen was standard but no plateware/dish soap provided, but available upon request. Hot, complimentary breakfast served.
Located in Salmon Creek close to both freeways. Breakfast was good consisting of make-your-own waffles, juice, toast, cereal and milk, and coffee. Has pool. Excellent amenities in room including full length mirror, hair dryer, iron and board. I have already booked a repeat stay later this year.
Our room was large and the bed was great. We needed three rooms for a weekend of teenage boys' soccer games, so the price was right. Front desk staff was helpful, and the free continental breakfast was basic, but just fine before hitting the road.
Stayed for 3 nights during Veterans weekend. Rates reasonable for a holiday weekend. very close to 5 freeway, clean. Check in fast. 10 minute drive to downtown Vancouver. It was about 20-25 minutes from Portland Airport. Variety of choices to choose from for breakfast. However, warm food wasn't very warm (sausage, scrambled eggs). It was just me and my 8 year old. Many fast food nearby; no warm sit down dinners. Day of check-out, woke up to closing statement under door. That made it convenient since I woke up at 5:00am to leave to the airport. As other reviews stated, there was a small odor in the hotel and room. I think the smell is due to the constant presence of moisture in the weather. Smell wasn't a big issue. I would stay again.
Hot breakfast was included with the price. Staff (front desk and housekeeping) were friendly and nice. The kitchen area: spacious, had utensils, cooking ware, plates, cups, and table / chairs for two people. The beds were clean and comfortable to my liking.
