My stay at Hotel Indigo downtown was perfectly refreshing. I liked the property's well-kept condition and the friendly, warm and helpful staff. The room felt beautifully renovated with a modern, comfortable design, and the nice amenities, like the quality toiletries, nice tea selection added a lovely touch of elevated comfort.

Staff assistance was very hit or miss. We were there for an extended family event and so several different parties had rooms booked. Personally my check in experience was great as James (?) was able to accommodate an early check in since we got into town at noon. But other members of the family had a very lengthy and time consuming check in progress where things seemed very uncertain. We also had members of our party that got stuck in the elevator for an extended period of time. The staff in the restaurant/bar were not very friendly and demanded that everyone remain seated rather than being able to stand to talk to each other around the bar (without a rationale or explanation being provided this was odd).

The heating/cooling system was extremely loud, difficult to sleep through. We ended up shutting off the heat to get rest. Secondly their TVs are older. No smart TVs and the cable had very limited channels. Not able to cast from phone without using your own HDMI cables. Staff informed us TVs are expected to be replaced next year. Lastly, coffee not available until 7:30.

What a wonderful place! Old, but character old, not falling down old. The place was impeccable, as was the service. Careful! There are TWO Indigo Hotels in downtown KC. This is the correct one on 11th Street, not the "other one."

This is our new go-to in Kanas City. It’s right in the heart of downtown, within walking distance from several restaurants and local spots, as well as the KC streetcar. The hotel is quiet, clean and very boutique. We commented how it was quite different (in a wonderful way!) from the busy crowded tourist-trap hotels. The hotel restaurant Dott Boss is so delicious we ate there three times. Alex and Andrew were accommodating, friendly, and made us feel like family. We will definitely be back!

Pros: clean room, updated, spacious, comfy beds, free coffee in morning was quite good, reasonable pet fee, very friendly staff Cons: the bathroom (does not have a latching/locking door, the shower does not have a door resulting in soaking floors, only 1 hook for towels, shower did not maintain consistent temperature or pressure). The rooms are not sound proof at all. Other things to note: Our original room had a defective bed (very worn out and sinking, obnoxious squeaking at the slightest of movement). The concierge switched us to a different room 2 doors down the hall, with no issue. I absolutely hate complaining to hotel staff and avoid it at all costs, but he made it very quick and painless. I thought the hotel advertised sound proof walls, but the guests in the room next to us decided to throw a party until about 1am on Friday and it was extremely loud for supposedly sound proof walls. The noise stopped abruptly, so I’m assuming someone else complained, or they all passed out drunk.
