Checked in to our room and was given a little tiny paper in with our room keys that told us to pardon the noise of construction from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Ok - no problem. Well upon entering our room, it was of the non-remodeled error, warm and cozy. And then it started. The EAR PIERCING, HEAD THROBBING, CANT THINK STRAIGHT jack hammering DIRECLTY above us. Call front desk and told it would be over at 5:30 - it is now 4:45 pm. I videotaped it for as long as I could stand it and went to the front desk and asked them if they really thought their guests should have to surrender to this noise. I guarantee you, the guy doing the jack hammering had ear protection - I don’t usually travel with ear protection. Needless to say, after showing the video - they changed our room to a higher floor at the opposite end of the noise. Nice, newly updated room - however housekeeping is not its best there. Apparently someone had been sick in and around the toilet area and housekeeping missed it. Just an overall totally disappointing experience. High priced cocktails at the bar and room was quite pricey as well given the experience. Certainly expect and have received better rooms and service from Marriott.

Just left this property. This is one of the premier Marriotts that needs an over haul. Maybe it should be from oManagement down. The pillows were great, the mattress is way overdue a change. The room was a little dirty3, needed chaulking around bathroom plumbing and tighten up the drips. No fridge in the room and the concierge area was pitiful compared to other provided at other facilities. Staff was nice enough but I am a Platinum member and in a half empty hotel, I would have a thought I could get a room higher than mid level. There are a lot of choices in this area, look elsewhere.

Even though the hotel was being renovated, I must say this hotel did a great job managing expectations. They notified guests upon check-in and kept to strict hours of noisy stuff so it wasn't really bothersome. This is kind of a unique area or Irving. It felt like we were in a residential neighborhood, but it wasn't. Not a lot of restaurants in walking distance (yet) but it's obvious that there is a lot under construction that will open soon. Convenient to the Convention Center, but you must cross a busy highway.

Marriott properties are known for their friendly and professional staff and the experience here found the same. The greeting I received from the front desk was bright and friendly. Because I arrived early in the afternoon and my room wasn't yet ready, she made the effort to find me an alternate room among those that had been recently renovated. I appreciated that. This is a business person's hotel and I arrived Saturday for meetings that began Sunday, the place was pretty empty. I had dinner that evening in the hotel and though I was seated in an empty restaurant, I was given courteous service from Juan, the maitre d'. He was genuinely happy to see me and, also acting as the waiter, he was solicitous and helpful. Even the manager, Drew, came over several times to be sure I was being properly taken care of. I enjoyed the whole experience.

We came here for our anniversary to attend a marriage conference in the area. We were given a king upgrade to a lakeside room with wonderful views. Watching the morning sun each day and the ducks on the lake was a great way to wake up. We ordered room service on the first morning and although the bar was officially closed - they opened it up just so we could share some mimosas to toast our celebration. That above and beyond touch made the weekend. And, of course my wife slept on their pillows vs her own and is now buying some from shop Come check this place out!

Spent 4 nights there, and was overall satisfied. The hotel is fairly old, though under renovation at the moment. Friendly staff. Two things I missed: no in-room safe and no buffet style breakfast on weekdays.

I just wanted to share my observations, Watching Dylan Franco (Front Office Manager) greet guests in the past few days that I have been here has been a joy.. Dylan takes pride in doing his work and he does it well. Dylan takes the time and greet guests as they come in and leave the hotel, he holds the doors for guest, and ask them if they need anything? This is not normal; Dylan Franco has redefined hospitality as a manager! It is a joy when I see people enjoy their occupation. As a Front Office Manager, that is probably not his job, but Dylan does it sincerely, humbly, and happily! I also wanted to commend Febby for an outstanding work. I usually catch the 5:15am flight from Chicago when coming to Dallas, and once I arrive I head straight to the office for a full day’s work. Last couple of times when I flew in to DFW I called the front desk to check in and Febby answered the phone, I asked Febby to check me in and without hesitation I was told it will be taken care of. When I got to the hotel after work, my room was ready. She probably didn't have to do that, but I am grateful for making my stay here at the Dallas Marriott Las Colinas a place where I feel right at home. After checking in on Monday evening, the next morning I saw Febby at the front desk as I was heading to work, I greeted and thanked her for taking care of my checking in. She came out in the lobby and greeted me like I was a special guest. That says a lot about an employee who goes above their scope of responsibility and does it with a smile. I am sure these traits that Dylan and Febby exercise day in and day out can become tiring if it were not done sincerely and willingly, but rest assure it impacts every guest that comes in through those doors. In my view, both Dylan and Febby are both impacting guests positively during their stay at the Dallas Marriott Las Colinas whether they know it or not, and I wanted to let you know that, both have positively impacted my stay here. Mr. Franco, I am sure your sincere hospitality demeanor has positively rubbed off on your team at the front desk, job well done! Thank you for making me feel at home! Sincerely, Saab Shamoon

This is a beautiful hotel. They are currently renovating- so the top floors were under construction. We did not hear any construction noise. The lobby area is pretty- the bar area is gorgeous. The rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was good, and the improvised concierge lounge was impressive.

I am very disappointed to have spent over $200 a night to stay at this property. I would expect that, at very minimum, a mini-fridge would be in my room but it was non-existent. The Breakfast in the concierge room was simply powdered eggs, juice, fruit, cereal or bread, really no meat? I had an issue while staying and was told that housekeeping would be right up to my room to clean up, and they never showed up. I suppose that if you are attending a concert and want to walk and spend this kind of money to do so, it is worth it. Disappointed...

The employees here could not be more accommodating. From the reservation desk to the folks at the bar and restaurant-all were welcoming and very attentive. This is a good business hotel- a bit overpriced for the environment. Rooms nice- the hotel is in the process of a renovation (definitely needed) but has very adequate workout facility and nice indoor pool. The bar is average size- and they have some decent bar appetizers available. The bar staff was attentive and friendly. The patio outside is very nice on a good day-and there is a safe and pleasant walk that one can take around the water -not sure how far, but guessing over a mile and 1/2. Rooms are comfortable-the air conditioning worked 'very well' -which is a common complaint that I have about most hotels. The in room coffee actually isn't bad, and they provide liquid creamers- perfect-another pet peeve of mine as I do not like the powdered creamers. Bed was comfortable, and room seemed clean- I had a decent view of the water. Bathroom is a good size, included a hair dryer that worked, and plenty of towels. My only complaint about my room was that there was a metal door stop bolted to the floor in front of the closet. I can only assume that at some time this stopped the doors that were there at that time from swinging completely open. Obviously the doors have been changed since then, as the stopper served no purpose that I could tell, except that I stepped/and or tripped on it during my entire stay. Hopefully removing this will be part of the renovation. Note- they actually do have free coffee/tea available in the mornings in front of the restaurant-this seems to be a fading trend in many hotels. + I was on business, and was responsible for paying for 2 of my guests. When I checked out on Wednesday morning, the female associate ( I apologize as I don't have her name) was extremely helpful to me in ensuring that I received Marriott credit for my 2 employees. I would recommend this hotel, for business or leisure-especially since the area immediately surrounding this hotel is/will be very developed over the next year, and within walking distance are many restaurants, entertainment- and retail shops planned also. It is fairly quite, and safe-as of when I stayed here, but close to a lot of activities.
