This is a great, modern looking hotel. We were able to check in a little earlier than 3 PM which was great especially with a baby. We had just gotten off the plane and were super exhausted. The bed was so heavenly and clean! The shower was relaxing! Next time we're in Dallas, we'll definitely return!
This is now the third time I've complained about this hotel. The first two times, out of respect I wrote only to the GM of the location but clearly it has fallen on deaf ears. I am a VERY loyal SPG member as I travel for work about 2 weeks per months and I even used to work for Starwood for three years while in graduate school. Last night after a LONG flight, I came into a hotel room to find the beds unkept as if someone had laid on them before. The room smelled like it used to be a smoking floor even after massive renovations. I was tired so I overlooked these first few details; however when I went into the bathroom, I couldnt look past the DISGUSTING details: PUBIC HAIR and MOLD in the toilet, an unclean shower and DIRT in the corner of the floor. Given that I had already unpacked and changed into pajamas, I called the front desk asking to have someone come up with a cart and keys to a new room but after 10 minutes, I walked myself downstairs to get my key since I had to get up early and simply couldn't wait any longer. The smug night manager apologized for the "unfortunate conditions" yet never apologized nor offered any types of amenities as a token of gratitude for my understanding. Unfortunately I have to stay at this property again tonight but all I can say is thank GOD there is another Westin in the area and a Marriot which can convert my points. What a poor representation of the Westin brand...shame on this property.
I travel frequently for business and have been to many Westin properties-- this one is, by far, my favorite in terms of staff and going the extra mile. Everyone from the valet to front desk to bar staff is incredible. I was fortunate enough to meet Melinda, one of the staff at Bar 1856 -- not only was she attentive, but friendly and so personable! In addition, the bar staff (Jeff and crew) and food was top of the line as well. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the Dallas area, and highly recommend to visitors and locals alike.
This Westin is probably around the average for Westin chains. Not too fancy but clean enough. This review is really for the hotel restaurant Urban South Dine. I usually avoid hotel restaurants since they are pricey and average. However it was late so we settled for the hotel restaurant. It was surprisingly delicious! The prices were reasonable and the portions were pretty generous. Koray really took care of us during dinner. It's a shame there wasn't a lot of diners at dinner, this place is a hidden gem! Definitely better choice than the neighboring Benihana. Kudos to chef Kenan. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts were delicious. Try it out if you find yourself in the area!
Front-desk: I arrived travel weary and had had my corporate card highjacked during my trip to LA the previous week. As Nina was checking me in she quickly ascertained that things had been a little rough (I flew the day before the big Nor'easter that shutdown all East Coast airports, enough said) and as she was handing me my room keys asked, "Do you need a hug?". I did, I really did...but I looked behind me and saw the other folks waiting to check-in so I politely declined. I did, however, seek out Nina a couple nights later and she greeted me with open arms! Lobby/Bar 1856: great service and excellent food (was surprised for a lobby bar) located in the open space in the lobby. Bonus for business travelers: the family style tables offer electrical outlets. Free shuttle service: this was a great perk and the drivers were super friendly. Give them about 10-15 notice if you're on a schedule. Room: great corner room, lots of space, very clean. I'll be back in Dallas in May and will absolutely stay here again.
I was on a business trip with my team and the Hotel treated us like royalty. The rooms were large, very clean, and beautiful. The food was AMAZING and the staff went above and beyond to cater to our needs. I couldn't have asked for a better stay.
Our room was 725. The room was great & large. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet, even with several wedding receptions and soccer teams there. We had a good view of the outdoor pool. Valet parking is $27 per day and self park is $17 per day (Note: Benihana restaurant has large parking lot 1/2 block away for free) Room wasn't ready so receptionist took my phone # to call when room was ready. Sat at the bar, bartender snobby and drinks very pricey. After 3:30, we checked back with receptionist and room was ready (No phone call?) Otherwise very quiet restful stay.
On our latest trip to Dallas, the hotels that we normally stay at were all full. So it was Recommended to us to stay at The Westin Park Central in Dallas. Let's start with the many great things with this hotel. They just completed a better than 42 million dollar renovation in October. The pool is incredible, they have a great exercise room and the lobby is fabulous. They spared no expenses with real greenery in the lobby and its own filtration system, which basically means it waters itself. The staff was great. Arrived really late and they were very accommodating. The valet guy even helped to bring our bags up although that's not his job. I'm normal Westin style the beds were comfortable and bathrooms were great. You even have a safe in your room if you need it. Let's talk restaurant. Great food, staff and service, but for a family it was out of the budget for breakfast. At about 20 bucks a head that bill could be pretty hefty. No doubt that the food is good and made to order omelets. I give the restaurant credit in that they do have a kids menu. It's still a little pricey for a larger family. The bar is first class and I love the idea of a juice bar. Valet is 27 dollars a day but there is an option to park in a garage around the corner for 16. Free parking is available, but it's in an open lot down the street. If you do Park valet they have an awesome texting system to get your car. You send a text with the assigned number and thy let you know when to come and get your car in the front. Some things to get ready for if you stay at the Westin. There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room. Heating up food for you or the kids late at night won't be possible. If you have a larger family you will have to get two rooms. They did an awesome job on the suites, but not affordable. The hold on your credit card will be about 50 dollars, which is pretty typical. That may not include the room and tax that they hold. We couldn't get a late check out at 12:30, which is what we try to get. Also the housekeepers started knocking on my sister in laws door at 845 am and did so every 20 min. Cant complain about the rate too much. You can get the pre paid option and save some money. Overall this Westin was what I expected. Always nice and great service. Plenty of restaurants around the area and it's close to a pharmacy. I do suggest more to do for kids to make families stay better. And at least a fridge especially if you have infants. No where to put milk or heat up food. That can be a challenge. It may be a little More pricey for a family but is definitely a great hotel. Especially for a couples get away.
We often visit Dallas for a quick getaway. we always look into this one but ended up turning away due to its dated facility and so so review. Our usual spot was fully booked and we had to make this short notice trip and seeing some conflicted review of this hotel so we decided to give it a try. We were upgraded to a junior suite- yeah. and the room is fully renovated. the westin smell is there as soon as you walk into the lobby. the amenity is westin specific type. the quality is much closer to a westin should be so we much enjoyed the stay than our expectation. we decided to turn this hotel to be our go to after this visit. few things to call outs- self parking $16 valet parking $27 - quite standard compared to others we stayed. even though we stayed in executive level with renovated room, it is still quite noisy. you hear sounds easily when people walked by and in conversation. we were exhausted so we managed to keep on sleeping when it occured. club lounge - does not have a consistent hours which i am not sure why.. for some reason water is not available throughout the day. i wish we can go in to get water as needed.
This hotel is awesome! The scent they kept going in that big space is so dreamy, we were amazed by that! Very beautiful hotel! From start to finish Anthony was our guy. We met him at the beginning of check in just about to do a shift change the first day. He was very attentive to us and very personable to talk to. He was so sweet he upgraded our stay which we are so thankful for. The room was great, cool and soft bed sheets, heavyweight down comforter, very comfortable! The bed was a little hard to get used to, but most are. Had a setting for running a fan since we forgot to bring our floor fan due to us being addicted to white noise for sleep, this was great to have. The rain shower head and wand was wonderful, makes us want to upgrade our bath at home,😜The breakfast buffet was wonderfully delicious, the spread and choices were full of options and loved the fresh fruit. A little more pricy than others that offer the same spread but still yummy! Loved that they had a Benihana Restaurant right next door. Also loved the roof top pool. We had thoughts of trying it one evening but the day got away from us and we were to sore from walking all day at the Zoo. All in all our opinion, this is definitely a come back, loved it! Thank you Anthony! 🤗🤗
