This is an interesting hotel. The decor is cool if you like that exposed-pipe, bare floor, intentional-patina look. On the other hand, the practical consideration of walking across concrete instead of carpet to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night is a thing. The rooftop pool is lovely. The first day I stayed they had a DJ up there and it was a pretty great party for a Monday afternoon. Wonderful view of the city. The staff is pleasant and helpful. They let me get away with a few things. I appreciate a no-harm no-foul attitude about my behavior, considering I am a guest. Example, the manager caught me sneaking a cigarette in an isolated corner of the roof, but he just walked away without chastising me. They have a mask policy in the lobby but I walked through there without one a few times and didn't get hassled over it. These things count with me. The shower was fantastic. Roomy, great water pressure, and hot. I would rate this hotel as Excellent except for the elevator. Every elevator ride is an adventure. It's a room card-activated elevator, but the card-reader is a bit wonky. Sometimes you can get where you're going with no problem, other times you have to scan your card multiple times, other times you have to literally step off the elevator and hit the Call button again in order to reset the card-reader. Definitely a hassle, and only one working elevator out of two.

Loved our stay here. Staff was very kind and helpful particularly Abraham. We had an incident during our last night stay where the people in the room next to us had a screaming session off and on for about two hours. It was not fun. The woman at the front desk did send the security guard one time and then she went to their door a second time. It was kind of a bummer as we were hoping to get a good night's sleep since we were facing a very early morning flight. It would not prevent us from staying again....we love the artsy funky feeling of this place and the art work is fabulous.

The room was huge, the bed was ridiculously comfortable & the hotel itself was really cool looking.

THE VIEW FROM THE BAR WAS GREAT BUT MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE LEFT MY CARD W THE HOTEL BAR AND MY CARD WAS CHARGED FOR SOMEONE ELSES BILL. GIRLFRIEND AND I BOTH GOT SICK SO WE LEFT THE BAR EARLY. WE THREW UP ALL MORNING AND WE LEFT BEFORE CHECKOUT BECAUSE YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING IN THE FROM PEOPLE TALKING TO TOILETS FLUSHING. FELT LIKE I WAS SLEEPING IN A JANITORS CLOSET

Staff was friendly and attentive - great view from the rooftop bar/pool. Perfect quick getaway.

Hotel is all about art. Great rooftop bar and pool. View was incredible. Staff were so nice.

I liked that it wasnt the standard drywall and paint look.

Canvas has very cool, chic industrial decor and artwork displays. Studio style rooms are unique, spacious and comfortable. It's different from anyplace I've ever stayed. Good food, drinks and ambiance. The rooftop is incredible! I really appreciated the front desk staff's hospitality. I've read others complain about the bed, linens and pillows, but I thought that they were quite comfortable and slept like a baby. My room did have exposed concrete floors but was not a problem for me. I realize that may not suite everyone's taste, but I found that to be part of the charm. I'd like to return to Dallas just to visit Canvas again!

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, but the breakfast service left a lot to be desired which was a pain considering there aren’t any other options in the area.. Also, I was there for business and had to print something out and one of the two computers wasn’t working while the other couldn’t connect to the internet.

Very modern hotel in an old sears warehouse building. Right when you walk in you can tell you are in for an experience. All of the staff that we came into contact with were amazing. The rooms are awesome and the bed....very comfortable. The food was great. The best part of it all is the rooftop bar and pool. You grab a drink a little bite to eat and relax in the infinity pool overlooking downtown Dallas with an amazing sunset!

Great stay. My first NYLO stay was at the Las Colinas location in June and I was hooked. I stayed 2 more times in NYLO Dallas Southside in July!:). Great hotel, service is A1. Can’t wait to return!:)

Ambiance was great. Bathroom smelled of mold or stale moisture. Pool was very small but cool.

Beautiful stay, great room and staff was fantastic

Loved the location right by Deep Ellum. Great rooftop bar with good appetizers. Rooms were big and inviting and the staff was very friendly

Very young crowd. Milleenials should love this. Boomers not so much.
