Booked a week or two ahead of Memorial Day weekend. Checked in that Thursday, when shown to my room I told them this was incorrect as I’d booked and paid for a King not a Queen. They only have one king on the ENTIRE property, I was told I could cancel but they’d like me to stay(I’d already driven 5 hours to get here, a queen would work for the gf and I), I said ok but I’ll need to be compensated for the difference, the employee looked puzzled, I told them to comp us dinner and we’d call it even. The on-site restaurant was good and the staff were inviting. Getting to the room, there’s a dead cricket behind the fridge so the gf is freaking out, the door to the adjoining room didn’t lock, there was no toiletries in the room(a single bar of hand soap would of been fine since we bring everything else), there was one wash cloth and two towels(one towel goes on the floor for when you get out of the shower so we’d still be short one washcloth and one towel), there was no iron or ironing board, no trash can anywhere. We informed the staff of these issues but the front desk closes about 8 so the iron trash can and bathroom items would have to wait till the next day. I bought a cheap towel n loofah from Walmart that night, we do breakfast in the morning, come back about 2, nothings been done, the staff were quick to resolve this when I let them know. The place used to be apartments and it feels like they aren’t really investing in the changeover which sucks because it has potential.
