Our stay at Hampton Inn Charlotte Uptown from Nov 26 to Nov 29 was unsafe and unacceptable. We were first placed in Room 1003 with extremely hard, unusable beds and lumpy pillows. My children and I slept in pain. When I reported it on Thanksgiving, staff dismissed the issue and said all beds were the same. After a second night of severe back and neck pain, we were finally moved to Room 303, which immediately proved the earlier room had defective bedding. We suffered two nights for no reason. When heat was used in Room 303, the room filled with a strong rotten egg smell for about ten minutes. Staff acted exasperated when I reported it. The most serious issue happened Saturday at 745am. A kitchen fire triggered evacuation but there was NO fire alarm or flashing alert inside Room 303. We were only warned because someone from our group ran to our door. Had that not happened, my two children and I would have slept through an active fire. The front desk response was nonchalant and dismissive. The fire alarm went off again at 958am, with burning smells and another evacuation. We also faced excessive 45 dollar nightly parking and had to walk in cold weather with a sick child. This stay involved physical injury, safety failures, and negligent staff response.

Property was close to our event. Parking was great, did not have to be in the rain when unpacking. Shower/bathtube had a very slow drain (maybe clogged).

We like the hotel stuff, they are kind and helpful! Especially my kids liked the waffles at breakfast time. The ladies in the kitchen are so nice! The room was clean and the hotel is 15-20 min walk to the city centre!
