The hotel itself is beautiful, restful and the staff were very helpful and nice. The food was good in all of the places we ate. I did find it ridiculous to see all of the daily add on charges on top of over five hundred dollars a night. Not sure we will return but we enjoyed it this one time to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

You're basically paying for the views and the gorgeous lobby. The room we received left a lot to be desired, especially for the price. Thin towels and linens and a small, dark bathroom with a tiny vanity and no place to hang towels. You have to pay to use the spa in order to access the best pool on the property. The other pool/sports facility is woefully outdated. Many parts of the hotel look like they haven't been updated since the 1970s. The main (old) part of the hotel is beautiful, but the rest of the property just seems like a dated add on (which it is). The staff is very nice and attentive.

love the updated resort rooms. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Views are are amazing.

The room was not $186 as your web site said. The Inn tacked on $15 for parking, $25 hospitality and the room was small, only one chair. The bathroom had small area between the sink and tub because of the ancient plumbing. Could not dry my hair because there was no "room in the inn." No views, only of the roof of the new extension. Will NEVER stay there again nor recommend it.

It was nice in the main areas but our room seemed old and outdated. The pool was small and the sports complex in general wasn’t as nice as I’d hoped. our room was smaller than expected, the carpeting in the hallways, stairs, and rooms could be updated as well as the bathroom tiles. It felt like I was staying in a small motel until we got out to the main nice area. The staff was nice though. And the main lobby area and outside area were nice. Also, it would have been nice if they put a couple of water bottles in our room daily.

Everyone is so nice and made us feel special Enjoyed the gingerbread displays Lots of things to do

Beautiful place to visit. Staff is wonderful. Only thing that could make it better would have been to not run out of gingerbread guides.

Great resort with really nice views. Hotel has old and new area. Avoid staying on the top floor of the old side if you are chrostophobic since rooms barely has any windows.

Went for honeymoon over July 4th week. We have stayed there before and love it, great hotel with amazing restaurants on site. The spa is incredible!

My husband and I stayed at the GPI for our babymoon. The view of the mountains is absolutely stunning and the spa was excellent. It was very relaxing. The rooms are pretty outdated and the service at the restaurants were pretty slow but overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay.

We loved our stay, but next time will book directly through the hotel. We had to change the number of nights, and it was difficult going through Orbitz. We got a guy from India who did not sprak English clearly, and it was hard to communicate!

Family vacation. Drove to Bristol TN (only about an hour from Asheville). Breathtaking views thru the mountains.

Service at the buffet on our second morning was horrible . Our waitress never brought us coffee. I had to get up , find her and ask for it. (She never came back to the table after she asked for our drink order. Then after the first time she never came back to refill our coffee. See how the food was or being our bill . I had to find her again to request the check. She was always “hanging “ out in the waiter station .

Grove Park Inn is a gorgeous historic property with a lot of unique features. Aside from a couple of minor issues with front hall bar service and Edison bar service the staff was fantastic. I was, however, deeply disappointed to find that the underground pool is only available to those with a spa appointment. Seeing pictures of that pool are what sealed the deal for me to book a room. It was not made clear that access to that pool is not open to hotel guests. I thought I'd read carefully and found that guests have access to the pools, but apparently not the really amazing one! There are lots of additional expenses associated with staying at the inn besides the room itself and even if I'd known a spa appointment was required I do not think I could afford the additional costs involved. This was my honeymoon and we spent a lot of money for a very special occasion. I would have booked a different nearby hotel and saved some money if I'd known we couldn't use one of the most amazing parts of the property.
