This location has bedbugs so bad my sister is covered in bites on her whole body and my arms are covered in bites
Took 45 minutes to wait in line in the lobby to check in. Only 1 staff member checking in guests, answering phones and directing foot traffic in the lobby. The lobby was blocked off to the dining area that once was used. Old coffee on floor and table that had been there until it was now dry. Receptionist spent too much time with guests trying to be all knowing rather than just answering the question and moving the process forward.
I was very wary about the surrounding area and afraid our cars would be broken into. Fortunately the parking area was room key required and the parking garage seemed pretty secure. The only downside was in the morning after our first night, they were cleaning and spraying the area out. It left a very bad odor that was a mix of trash and sewage. Not exactly the first thing I’d like to encounter early in the morning. When I arrived the elevator had a very weird smell in it as well, body odor and urine mixed together. Another issue we also had here was the in-room coffee utensils were molded. The stick was molded and the napkin as well. Pretty off putting. It was a decent stay overall, but next time I will pay the extra $40-60/night to stay at a nicer hotel. This was a last minute booking, so I guess you get what you pay for.
What I didn’t like about the hotel I couldn’t control the heat in the room. If we turned it up, it stayed the same temperature. The shower was luke warm which was disappointing as I was really looking forward to a hot shower after a long day at work. The water spigot was very hard to turn on and then sprayed all over once it turned on The breakfast was good but not convenient for staying in a hotel when you are in a hurry. The staff was new. I couldn’t order our meal until the front desk person gave us our voucher each morning. I waited at the front desk for a few minutes and kept ringing the bell. No one came out. Another customer came by and pointed outside where the front desk person sat with her back to the window smoking a cigarette. I went out and asked her to please come in and get my vouchers which she pleasantly did. Why on earth would she have put her back to the window I wondered. The first morning there was coffee in the lobby. Next morning it was cold, prolly from the day before. 3rd morning there was none at all.
Worst ever. Stood in line for 5 hours waiting to check in. Had to finally leave so we didn’t miss the concert we came to see. Chose to drive home (5 hour drive) after the concert rather than trying to check back in at the hotel. This place was totally unprepared for any event of any kind. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
This hotel has great location next to Tacoma Dome so great for concerts. Check in took almost 2 hours, line wrapping around lobby. Only two people working at counter, and one seemed to be putting out fires rather than checking people in. Free breakfast but not buffet as most, set menu. Waited over an hour for pancakes and scrambled eggs. I have a feeling the issue is that they are extremely under staffed. For the amount of money I spent on the room coupled with the poor experience, I will not be staying here again.
When we got in the room, the room was hot. They had not turned on the AC. The AC never cooled the room. Remote to the TV did not work properly. Toilet seat was broken. I will not stay here again.
This was a truly awful hotel. The front desk manager ran all over trying to solve problems, but this property should be destroyed. Toilet, tub, room and lobby AC, elevators all didn't work well. People from our group found old melted candy bars in the closet. Check-in took an hour and half for us and some people in our party did not have a clean room available until 9pm (check-in was 3pm and we had a reservation). The biggest problem was perhaps the stairs which we had to take because the elevators didn't work consistently. The stairs are only accessible via 2 conference rooms. For obvious reasons, the hotel does not want people walking through the conference rooms when they exit the stairs, so they lock the doors to these conference rooms from the stairs (on the lobby level). This forces guests to go down to the garage level, and then take the poor elevators up one level or to go out the garage door and walk outdoors to the lobby. This would be a deadly situation in case of fire. In addition, we were up for 2 hours in the middle of the night because the guests across the hall were having a huge fight with the man yelling and the woman crying. Someone went in and out the room every 10-20min allowing the door to slam closed. When the fighting continued in the morning, I notified the front desk manager who immediately resolved the situation.
Don’t expect warm water in the shower and pillows are the size of a tic tac, breakfast is understaff making it difficult to have. Stay away.
Alway a friendly experience.
Negatives: front desk gave out a key to someone else by mistake so if it hadn't been for me securing the door, we would have had a stranger walk in. also, the smoke alarm was beeping nonstop throughout our stay, also, you have a leak from the ceiling in that room and lastly...you can't call the front desk because the phone doesn't work. would we stay again? most likely. this is the only hotel that close to the venue which makes it a plus. :)
I booked my room in October for a concert that was coming to the Tacoma Dome next door...my room was about 80 dollars..when i showed up. I was told that they did not have my reservation. Everyone else that was checking in were paying 225 dollars for their room! I was told my management that i can go sit in one of the common areas to call Orbitz...thats where i found two other people that ALSO had their reservation canceled..and all 3 of us had booked at the considerably lower rate. I showed the manager my reservation, Orbitz confirmation number, Comfort Inns, confirmation number and my receipt showing the room WAS booked and paid for. All other hotels in the area were completely booked. I ended up having to go back to the airport..and that is where i spent the night.
We liked that the dome was walking distance to the Tacoma dome. Very nice when attending a concert. However, for the price the property charges, rooms weren’t and didn’t feel clean at all. Disappointed
Perfect location for TacomaDome events. Property is very old and dated.
The service at front desk was awesome that’s it, she went on & beyond to give us the service we need it.
