I was transferred to 2 different rooms due to nonworking appliances; the hotel desk clerk was unfriendly; my experience was not what I expected from a Best Western.

Property is located in an area with many vagrants. It is unsafe

Poor service. Thin walls. Hot water shows up when it wants. Bad area.

Shuttle to airport times were to short..soending $25 to get back to the hotel from airport was not in my budget Cut it close leaving hotel at 7am. Flight at 8.30am Breakfast great..quiet sleeping..

Room was clean, check in fast, breakfast good with eggs and sausage and potatoes too. Area around hotel was kind of ehhh, but there is a fence around which gives it a safer feel. I needed something close to the airport ( within 10 minutes) and reasonably priced with breakfast and this fit the bill. Remodeling was being done to some rooms but not noisy while I was there.

The property is on the river which was nice. Good Mexican restaurant next door. The room smelled terribly of old cigarette smoke even though it was a nonsmoking room and TV didn’t work. Very loud outside.

I ordered a smoking room and when I got there the had changed the whole hotel to nonsmoking. Also said they had a shuttle to the airport but it didn’t start till 7 am which was too late for me. Will not book here again

The staff was great. Breakfast as expected, great hotel for the money.

Area not too good but the hotel was trying hard to make it nice. Lots of fencing, which helped keep the homeless at bay

The reception clerk when we checked out was not pleasant. It seems like she was really bored with her job. Not once did she smile nor looked at me. The food attendant was very nice but they were missing food items such as yogurt, bacon and plain scrambled eggs. The bed is very comfy but the sofa bed was dusty when we pulled it out. The air conditioner is old and can not handle the hot weather outside. It took awhile to cool down the room.

No lobby, room was smelly, found a Roach in morning left it on floor and was still there in evening.

Upon arrival I checked into a room not a front desk, it was barricaded with green fencing with no explanation. I'm the morning staff was outside smoking and talking with there clipboards three of them. At night I could hear the conversations of the people above me and for over three hours it sounded like elephants were up there. I called the front desk several times and nothing changes I woke up to what sounds like someone hacking up a lung. The walls were so thin, Also I was asked for my card for incidentals when I got to my room I wondered what incidentals were they talking about because there were none. Parking was terrible. They were rated almost a four which looked pretty good on the web but the photos did not match what I saw.

Was really happy with the staff and willness to help out if anything was needed.

We stated one night at this hotel and were billed $493. The manager refused to explain the charges. Billing dispute is still in progress.

This is my second stay at the Sandman. I really enjoyed the cleanliness of the room and the bed was super comfortable! Amenities for those on a budget: microwave, fridge, iron, hair dryer. (The microwave needs a longer cord; I had to move it to reach the outlet). There's a lovely river walk behind the motel; recommended to go with someone just to be safe. Only complaint was about other dog owners whose dogs yapped and one who let her dog off leash and did not retrieve him immediately. My dog was very distracted. I'll stay there next year!
