This was the worst hotel experience I have ever experienced in my entire life. This place needs to be condemned. For starters do not believe any positive thing you read or see about this place online. It looks like at one point in time it may have been a nice place but as of April 2017 it's not! They offer you NOTHING but a bed and four walls. The living quarters look like a rooming house. The rooms are extremely small and tight. The furniture is old and out dated. The flat screen on the was didnt work. They freeze you to death, you can not control the temperature in your room. The elevator is a death trap, it's old dark and rusted and it breaks down often! The entire hotel smells old and mildewed. They have no refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee pot, no iron, no place to eat or drink, no vending machines, no washer or dryer, one ice machine on the main level, only two housekeepers that take all day to clean the entire facility. They have no bar or lounge, no entertainment whatsoever... if you want to eat and drink you need to go out to the local street and eat at the restaurants and bars... and you are not allowed to bring food back and eat in the lobby. DO NOT go to this place!!
I was skeptical because the beach had over 100 bad reviews, but the photos kept me flipping back to the page and considering of giving it a try and I am glad that I did. I did not get any attitude from them when I arrived at the front desk like others have mentioned, I was already aware of the deposit and other taxes, so I was not alarmed. The room was cozy since I went to celebrate my birthday by myself, the ability to leave the lobby and walk in the sand was the most incredible to me (even though it rained from March 5 until my last day of the 8th), I enjoyed it. The hotel was quiet to me, the staff were sociable and friendly, the trip was somewhat inexpensive, and I plan on coming back in April but to get a larger room, hopefully with a penthouse view. I was met by 2 guys in the lobby one shorter male wearing glasses, ( Jorge) and a heavier set guy with a beard, both alright to me. Muchos gracias primos.
My room was not ready when I arrived. There is no room service or even a atm machine at the hotel . You can't smoke a cigarette on the property so if you smoke this is not a hotel for you. The only elevator they have get stuck between floors . I checked out a day early and when to the Holton for the rest of my vacation.
I don't know which one should I start with. The only reason why we chose this hotel was the location but everywhere close to each other so you don't have to make the same mistake as like we did. We literally charged 90 dollars as a resort fee and walked upstairs and room welcomes you with disgusting smell with hairs on the bed and pillow. And then you get to see the stains piled over the window which is dusty. We tried to change te room but the staff was terrible. He was trying to fight with me instead of helping me out. They ask for 30 dollars if you wanna park your suv compact cars are 18 dollars. Basically rip off. It is a non refundable booking so you can't get your money back. I contacted with orbitz they helped me with the amount after 2 day but I haven't heard anything about my resort fee which is 93 dollars. I lost 93 dollars but I booked another place on the beach for way better price in ocean park area. It was the whole apartment with ocean view for reasonable price and it came with parking. So stay away from this place with rude staff if you don't wanna waste your time and money.
We arrived and there was no where to park yet we payed 18.00 a day for parking. Staff at desk was very rude needs to get retrained in customer service. The elevator was by far the scariest elevator I have ever been in. we entered the room and there was a nasyy stain on the white bed spread so we told front desk and they seemed irratated that we complained they did not offer to switch our room, The manager just said the pipes are old in this building its probably a water stain. the room is like a 7x10 very small.. and there was no hot water at all..We ended up checking out the very next day early because it was not livable and we lost our money. Do not rent here it is very misleading.
Not bad for an overnight stay. Its $100 cash security deposit (they don't take credit card). The rooms where clean. The elevator needs some work done on it. But for $50 a night I didn't expect more. The best part was that it was in the middle of Condado and close to Old San Juan and La Placita
Let's see if I can make this clear enough for those of you who read reviews: From check-in, where we were greeted by a very rude person with way too much attitude, to the utter shock and horror when we saw our room - this was the single worst "hotel" stay of our lives. I've stayed in much better rent-by-the-hour roadside motels. The pictured room must've been the only room they had that looked that nice and they had to have used a fish-eye lens camera to take the picture because it was only a 10'x12' box - felt much more like a jail cell than a hotel room. It was filthy, stinky and loud. Our bathroom window would not open or close - just stayed halfway. There is a restaurant/nightclub across the street that was apparently a great place to eat/party, but it makes a bunch of racket all night long. There is NO parking to speak of and what they do have is EXTRA to park there - and, it is expensive. The fine print on your paperwork will hide that little tidbit, also the CASH deposit that is required and other charges. We were stuck here overnight and really wish we could've afforded to lose the cost and just check-in at the Holiday Inn Express two blocks away - which was near the same cost and had fantastic clean rooms and many amenities. This place? Don't even expect an ice bucket with clean plastic cups. There are absolutely ZERO amenities and there is ZERO reason to stay here unless you are homeless and someone gave you a free night...even then, I would warn you.
The stay was horrible, staff was really rude and when you try to make suggestions they act like they don't care. Description mentioned a bar, closed the entire week I was there. They said it will reopen in December. When I came in they needed $107 in maintenance fees upfront and $100 for a deposit in cash only. Found that really odd. Had to forgit the little cash I brought. Will never return to this hotel. The view was excellent, the only plus.
El baño está todo el tiempo oliendo a orinas. y por lo general el mal olor se expapnde por toda la habitación, no tienen internet, no tienen parking hay que dejarlo en la calle.
It is a clean hotel with great location. You cannot find any hotel in Condado cheaper than this one. Yet, you cannot have high expectations. The staffs will do the basic minimum: check you in, check you out. Nothing more. The same with the room: clean but small and old. It has AC, TV, comfy bed. If you are unlucky, your sheets might have lots of piling. The walls are very thin so if your neighbors are noisy, you are out of luck for a good night sleep. They have wifi in the lobby area and it is super nice to just sit there watching the beach.
This hotel has been recently updated and appears to be nice, but, it quickly becomes obvious that money was not spent where needed. There are no a/c controls in the rooms. I was always hot or freezing. I was traveling with friends who had a room on another floor, they had the same problem. Also, noise is an issue here. You can hear everything in the hallways and adjacent rooms. It is impossible to sleep past 9. There are no amenities in this hotel, it is closer to a hostel than to a resort. That being said, it was clean and the location and views are outstanding.
Nice hotel, very clean, the only thing there is no parking you either have to pay $18 daily and if you have a mini van like I did have to pay $36 daily...there are parking lots around the area less than 5 minutes walk.
This place is a slum. Suckered us in and fee'd us to death. We did Not stay and we lost All of our money. If you go there, you have been warned. Let me put it best a's a garbage scow that has washed up on the beach and is proclaimed a hotel! 0.00 stars
The elevator is rusted and am pretty sure out code...scary to use. We found an underwear under the bed. Bed comforters had stains all over. It was obvious that rooms do not get clean throughly. They don't have room service or accommodation for guest and they ask for deposit for anything requested to the room. The only positive thing in the hotel is the ocean view.
All I can say is the reviews did it no justice. The staff members were very helpful and had suggestions on food and night life. The best part was it was GLBTQ ground zero. The local GLBTQ population live on the beach right outside. Great, Great views. Also there are two GLBTQ bars within walking distance.
The hotel is very old and not maintained at all. The rooms are very small. The elevator has a feel of a coffin. Its poorly managed and it has lot of hidden fees. I would recommend avoid staying here. There are lot of other options in the neighborhood which are lot better.
Staff and service were great, except for not letting my daughter up to shower and sleep while I went to the ATM to cover the five dollars short that I was on the Cash-Only amount due at check-in (one hundred deposit, plus resort fee plus parking, prepaid the rest online). For Five Dollars (less than 3.6 percent of the cash payment due at check-in), they left her falling asleep in the lobby with all the luggage for 40 minutes while I hunted down a working ATM (the one they suggested was broken). Who doesn't take credit card? Did they think I wouldn't pay the five out of one hundred of the room deposit? It's as if they are only used to dealing with hooligans. Also, double check the small print (all the hotels have these, not just here), there is a resort fee or something like that of twenty and a one hundred cash room deposit (and eighteen a day parking, if needed), not cancelable, and they Don't Take Credit Cards. Aside from that, if you aren't expecting to spend too much time at the hotel (except to sleep), this is a really great option. Though the facilities could use some upgrades in construction (rust, broken chair, etc.), it is clean (marble floors, no cruddy rugs like some of those other low star hotels) and it is on the beach with great views. I'd say if not for the facilities alone, it'd be a 3-star easy. They are nice and polite and they park your car. Tip: Check other fancy hotels near the check-in date. They drop price dramatically a couple of days before
Small room Hidden fees (extra charge for parking) Front desk controls Ac in room At best 2 star hotel
The hotel was directly on the beach which was great. The hotel staff treated us very nice. They were very helpful. Our room was very small and freezing.
This is a small hotel right on the beach, and located next to restaurant and shopping, however the hotel does not have a pool, the beds are twin beds not comfy if you are really tall overall, the room was clean and the price is great, elevator is a little old but it's mainly to sleep.
