Staff was excellent and very attentive! Stairs were a bummer with luggage ,and the bed mattress really needed to be retired. Can’t say enough about the staff though, they were superb!

I cannot say enough how absolutely AMAZING the El Colonial and ALL the employees were! We were there for my son's wedding and treated like Queens. Thank you all for being so awesome!!!!!
I loved staying at El Colonial! As a single woman, I loved being in the center of OSJ, appreciated feeling safe, and liked knowing that the staff was always available, 24/7 - as was the bar, heyooo. The rooms are plain, but functional, and it's easy and fun to meet people in the lobby. I had a great time talking with other travelers. The rooftop tubs are neat substitutes for a pool (not the same, but pleasant to cool off in). Thanks a lot to Hector, Giancarlo, and Christian for being so great! They are just three representatives of the amazing staff. A hint: use Uber to get to the hotel (it's a better deal than taxis), and back to the airport (leave from the nearby Plaza).

Amazing staff and service. They go above and beyond every single time. If you have trouble with going up and down steps that is the only reason you shouldn’t stay. Open bar and the friendliest people. Will definitely stay next time again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at el colonial. The staff was very friendly and always ready to help and serve us. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants/stores, plazas, and historic sites. The rooftop area and bar/ lobby areas were very nice as well. Our room was quite small, but it did the job for the 3 days we were there.
A hidden gem in the heart of Old San Juan. Hotel staff is incredible! Highly recommend this property.
