Phoenix Studio Queen Economy
Summary: This listing is for our exterior entry studio queen bed economy apartments. These units will have carpet and dated furniture, please see our deluxe units for upgraded apartments. PLEASE be sure to read the entire description. We have a no questions asked refund policy. If you are unhappy about anything during your check in or stay, we will refund you 100% of any unused nights.
These units have a large studio apartment and full size kitchen and a Queen size bed. The studios can sleep 2-4 max, we only allow a max of 4 guests. These units are generally booked by long term guests and have had a lot of turnover. The furniture is less than 5 years old but starting to show its age. Our most common complaints are noise and smells from neighbors, neighborhood off the freeway, occasional pests like ants during the summer months and the locks needing battery changes. The carpet is showing its age and may have varying levels of staining. We are changing over to hard flooring over time but your assigned unit will most likely have carpet. Guests have generally been pretty hard on these units and there may be varying levels of deferred maintenance. The pics are generally representative of the apartment but please do not expect a perfectly renovated hotel style luxury unit. Do expect a comfortable and safe apartment in a central location with everything you will need for your long term stay. We are very responsive and if you have any issues during your stay, we will be here to help. We have an office, full time security and maintenance staff onsite to handle any issues.
Welcome to Metro Phoenix. We specialize in all inclusive living. NO pets are allowed with this listing, please find our pets allowed units for guests with pets. These studios are exterior entry with close proximity to parking, swimming pool, gym and all of our amenities.
We are an apartment community that has been remodeled with features such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, commercial grade carpet and designer furnishings. Our pool is heated year round, set at 86 degrees. Additionally, all of our kitchens are fully stocked and the living room couch folds into a queen size bed. You will enjoy Cox cable with a premium package and broadband internet speeds of 10-200MB + with no downtime (Cox 1GB Fiber with $35k Ruckus industrial system). We now offer the fastest and most reliable internet! As of April 2021, our pool is heated year round to 80 degrees+.
All windows are fitted with black out coverings. All bathrooms have modern granite and showerheads are high pressure. ADA labeled units have full bathroom and kitchen ADA access. We are happy to assign you an ADA accessible unit pending availability, just let us know. You may get a king or queen bed, upstairs or downstairs. If you have a strict preference, we can usually accommodate, just let us know.
Amenities: Our grounds and amenities are unmatched and feature a sparkling pool, built in BBQ with outdoor tables, sports court, gym, business centers (small and large gatherings). We can host just about anything you throw at us. Please note that we are located right off the freeway in an Urban city location.
Location: We are about as central as you can be in Phoenix. Right off the 17 freeway, you will be 15 minutes from everything including the airport, camelback corridor, downtown, Tempe, and Scottsdale. Please keep in mind that there may be freeway noise on the grounds so if you are very sensitive then you may want to consider another option. You may see homeless people at the freeway exit, this is part of our reality in Phoenix with the current housing crisis. Marijuana is legal in Arizona now and some people abuse the privileges Although we have a strictly no smoking policy, you may smell Marijuana smoke from guests that are breaking our policy. We do our very best to enforce the sitewide no smoking policy. We have full time security onsite as well as a 50 camera CCTV security system for guest piece of mind.
Please note that we are not a hotel and do not provide daily maid service, towel or linen service. We will not provide refills of toilet paper, dishwasher soap or any other supplies buy you will have initial supplies enough for a short term stay. Please expect to make a Walmart run during the first week of your stay if staying longer than the weekend.
Fine Print: We accept one pet maximum 30 lb weight limit. Second pet allowable under most circumstances if pet is mature and trained. We do not provide daily maid or linen service after check in. Your room is cleaned before you check in and after you check out only. We do not provide shampoo, toothpaste, etc. We are focused on longer term stays of 5 days + but we do host for 2 day stays. Shorter term reservations can only be made within the same week of travel. Our internet speeds vary. We subscribe to Cox 1GB but there are many factors in the speed our guests will receive at any time. We provide no guarantees and do not reimburse for down internet time.
Our complex is clean, secure and 99% of our guests have a fantastic stay. When we do get negative feedback, it is usually from a guest that stayed 3 days or less, larger families or mismatched expectations. We would like to set expectations and be very forthright. Here is our best attempt at full disclosure:
1. Pictures of the complex were taken in June 2021 and are recent BUT our photographer is great and some guests have said the pics look better than reality.
2. Phoenix is in the middle of homeless/housing crisis. You will see homeless at many of our iconic locations including 101/Frank LLoyd in Scottsdale, 101/Warner in Tempe, etc. We are not immune and our location is certainly not A+. You may see homeless people at the exit to our complex, on Frontage Rd, etc. We do everything in our power to control this including security on site but this is a fact of life in Phoenix. We have had out of state guests that did not appreciate this site.
3. This is a 168 unit complex and we are generally always booked up. We screen our guests and tenants and have a no smoking, drug, public alcohol policy that we strictly enforce. Unfortunately, people do not always follow the rules. We have had to cancel reservations due to smoking on the property and this happens.
4. Our 1bd and 2bd units are in interior corridor space. This means that you may hear noise from the upstairs neighbor, domestic abuse situations, guests leaving trash in hallway, etc. We have strict rules and process for keeping everything clean and civil but things can happen.
The bottom line is if you are expecting a quiet, off the beaten path bungalow B&B, this is not it. We are clean, modern, affordable with fantastic amenities. Our units are professionally cleaned/sanitized and we have an on staff office and maintenance to address all guest needs. We care about our guests and the guest experience and have overwhelming positive feedback.
The Space: MetroPHX caters to longer term stays of 5+ days. We will host shorter stays if booked within the same week. We do not offer daily maid or linen service and toiletries are not provided. We try to keep our grounds meticulous and we have a fully staffed office here to help.
Guest Access: We are a 100% automated check in solution. If you want to see us during your stay, come visit in the office otherwise your in and out with ease. You will get a unique code sent to you in advance and use that code to enter your unit.
The Neighborhood: Our complex is clean, secure and 99% of our guests have a fantastic stay. Easy
The room was perfect for what I needed. The listing was very upfront about details. Pictures were slightly deceiving but I didn’t need anything crazy nice so I was not disappointed. Coming front out of state never having been to Arizona I honestly should have done more research on the location but it was a quick trip where I wasn’t at my room much anyway. But worked perfectly for what I needed.

Works for what it is, could use some work.
full honesty,
highlights: good ac, decent shower, comfy big bed, big tv (had to use hdmi to use it), fast responding host, clean fridge/kitchen, super easy check in
lowlights: cable tv did not work, pull out bed super uncomfortable, did not have extra bedding, needed more towels for 3 days 3 ppl, felt unsafe in the general area, very little kitchen utensils, feet and socks were black after walking bare on tile.

Horrendous
We didn’t stay there. I was there for 5 minutes, did a walkthrough and became more and more discussed as I did. The bed looked like someone had just slept in and barely made the bed. The shower, which didn’t have a curtain, still had hairs in the tub. The smell was foul and noticeable as soon as we opened the door. The neighborhood looked so shady I was afraid to leave my car parked there. The fridge made a noises and smelled horrid. It didn’t look anything like the pictures. It’s a shame that VRBO allows this kind of listing. I wouldn’t stay here for $10/night
