Terrible experience with Matt the manager. We were not able to check in until 6 pm after arriving at 10:00 am and asking for early check in but being told our room would be available at 3:00 pm. His excuse was sorry people check out late and we don't have enough staff. Very very rude
On the Second day of our stay, we returned to our room at 9pm to find a strangers doggie bag with a warm steak in it from a nearby steakhouse on the floor of our room. There was a mans wallet on the dresser and other random trash that had not been there when we left our room that morning. $40 dollars in cash was stolen from the table. We called security and the manager of the hotel to report these findings. We were told that a hotel employee had provided an unauthorized person a key to our room. we were outraged that someone clearly had access to our room without our permission! The manager apologized, then stated "you have to understand, you are at the W, people get extremely intoxicated and things happen." That was the only explanation given. This is a very dangerous situation and judging by the manager's nonchalant attitude, one that has happened in the past and will continue to happen. A police report of the events was made even though the manager told us that wasn't necessary.
The room was not cleaned properly it had a bad stale odor and it was dusty. I advised the staff they immediately moved me rooms
Hotel was awesome. Within walking distance to many sites. Staff was very helpful any friendly.
Love being able to walk to amazing restaurants and shopping.. The also shuttle you. Just the smell of the hotel makes u relax. Def. a club like experience in the bar and lobby at night.. But great people watching!
This was a fun hotel -- the décor was trendy and the staff customer service was outstanding. Anything we asked for we were able to get. The location is great -- within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. We would definitely stay here again!
For the price the rooms are a little on the small side, however they are very nice. A little noisy too at some points through out the stay, but I did notice a sign in the lobby that said they could move guests if their room was too loud (New Years) Overall great stay.
I would not recommend this hotel at all unless you want to stay in a closet. The rooms are a joke and so small. There are much nicer hotels with larger rooms for the same price. I honestly can't believe anybody would walk into these rooms and be happy.
We stayed for a quick night away, just the two of us and had a great time. Pool is a big party on a Saturday and the hotel is in the perfect spot and walking distance to clubs if you want to go to one. Sushi Roku was great, we had reservations and did not have to wait at all.
This hotel has the tiniest rooms that I have ever seen, It is in a great area of town but you will be sleeping in a closet with a bathroom that only has a curtain.
I was agreat place to stay, you get what you pay for.
Wasn't what I expected from a W Hotel. Watch out for the 2nd floor room, you might get a view of the walkway like me, or should I say, What View. Wasn't worth the price I paid for the room.
Great spot for getting away for quick weekend. Right next to great nightlife and rooftop pool outstanding during the day and night
Incredible location in the heart of Old Town. Great pool and nice rooms. Little surprised that on a Sunday night it was $300 for the night.
Amazing! The hotel staff was great. One of the concierge seen us booking at the spa and gave us a 10% discount coupon.
The W is gorgeous! And has of fun things to do the night life is glamorous! I suggest you gol! Now the bad the drinks are watered Down BAD!!!! And the check in took forever! It's nice but not worth 400 a night!!!
Awesome hotel.. will definately stay there again
We were traveling with 10 women looking for a relaxing getaway in first class accommodations. We had several options that were of the same star rating or higher for lower price but went with the W b/c we know they are known for their style, service and accommodations. We also heard that their pool was THE place to be in Scottsdale. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED. There are so many things to comment on that I will just list them here: THE BAD: 1) our friends called TWICE to confirm that there would be 2 double beds in their room. When checking in, they were given a king and repeatedly told that there were no doubles available in the whole hotel. After discussing with the check-in staff for 15min., they were suddenly able to find a room with two doubles. 2) We found Dorito chips and a clothing tag on the floor when we lifted up the comforter on our bed. We didn't eat Doritos on the entire trip. 3) Practically all of us had a bad experience with almost slipping in the shower. My roommate did fall and had to fill out an incident report b/c her bruises were very large 4) Room service took 45min. to an hour and when it arrived, it was cold. 5) You have to pay $50 for a late check out after noon and then $75 for any time between 3 and 6pm. 6) We witnessed a poor senior couple, STAYING AT THE HOTEL, booted from the chairs they had put their stuff down on at the pool b/c the chairs are reserved for $25. The poor gentleman had a cane and they were asked to move! 7) We are in the process of investigating errors on the bill right now. 8) After a long night out, my friends were trying to sleep in and got a call at 8am telling them their breakfast was on it's way. THEY DID NOT ORDER BREAKFAST. 9) We all called for late checkout and were told we had to pay a fee. My one friend called, agreed to pay, and then got a call later telling her she did not have to pay. 10) We wanted to spend time with friends at the end of the night and had a security guard with headset on, moving us along in to our rooms as though we were teenagers with a curfew. We are all mid-30s and early 40s! I understand the need to control noise, but being ushered to our rooms and followed by security was a bit excessive. 11) There is only one restaurant in the hotel and it is a higher end sushi restaurant. We were hoping there were less expensive options to get snacks or lunch or something at the hotel, other than at the pool. 12) Our room was not cleaned for two days. We did have our "do not disturb" up in the a.m. but took it down when we headed out to the pool before noon. No on came back to clean the room at any point in the day. 13) Apparently we are charged a small fee for the paper each day. We never saw the paper. This must be b/c our room was never cleaned. I will admit, some of the gripes are personal preference on things but overall, the hotel was very disappointing. It is not like the W Hotels we have stayed at in other cities. GOOD STUFF: There were three standouts at the hotel - Carlos and the set of twins that work at the front desk. They did their jobs very well had extremely pleasant attitudes throughout our stay there.
If you never been to spring break and that's what your looking for this is your place. This hotel ruined my whole trip. They don't tell you stuff like you have to res. a place at the pool and it for only so long. There only 65 seats at the pool and there are over 200 rooms plus, outside guest can use the pool if they pay a fee. So if you think you're going to hang by the pool all day your not. Also, that at night the hotel turns in to a big night club and to have a seat any were you have to pay at least $250. This hotel does not care about their guess they care about the VIPs night clubbers that come there. Beware all girls traveling alone at night the halls ways and Zen garden can become very dangers!!!! But, again why would they care about the guest safety. It all about looking cool!!! I could go on for hours abut how bad this place is. The women at the front desk told me that a manager would call me, I'm still waiting for that phone call.
