Renaissance Philadelphia Airport Hotel

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Everyone there was loud and I could hear them all night along with the emergency alarm going off at 3am due to neglegent guests. I tried to get a refund from Orbitz and Renaissance several times and they each kept referring me to the other one & I received no refund for 2 nights.

When we got into the hotel at 10:00 PM on Saturday, there were people coming and going in what looked like a major party. There was a strong smell of marijuana smoke in the hotel, guests were going floor to floor in the elevator with open alcoholic beverages, and the scene could be described as a party on most of the 10 floors. The staff seemed to be well-aware of the situation as they put us on the "conciere's floor," which appeared to actually be the "non-party floor." At 3:00 AM we are awoken by a fire alarm warning us to evacuate. We quickly dress, I check the door, open it and realize that the whole hotel smells like marijuana smoke. Most guests are unsure of whether to evacuate after the alarm stops sounding but lights continue flashing, so I call the front desk and they cannot tell me whether to evacuate or not. The alarms sounds again, so evacuate down the 10 flights of stairs. After 30 minutes outside and sitting in our car (more weed smoke in the parking lot), we go back in and have to wait 10 minutes to get up the elevator. The staff took several of us to the staff elevator, where one staff member asks if we need towels or anything. Several guests ask for towels, which I suspect they thought were free souvenirs. The next morning, the manager tells me that those partiers "don't fit their guest profile" and she is sorry. I tell her that the indoor smoking and resulting 3AM fire alarm were my concern. I would rather have slept in my car or a Motel 6.

All was as expected, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced!

Checked in around 8:30pm and room I had booked was not available. Asked staff if there are any alternatives and was told no. Decided to check in since this rate was non-refundable and I was not going to look for a new hotel in the middle of the night. Room was dusty and toilet seat still had traces of the prior guest. Please stay away from this hotel. Terrible experience and not the kind of hotel experience I was expecting at this rate. This is the first time I am leaving such a negative review about a hotel.

Beautiful hotel! Very clean and comfortable, especially when you have an unexpected lay over. Would suggest in-room movies to help us pass the time.

Desk gave no information about the complimentary breakfast. No book in the room with hotel information and dining choices etc. The room was dusty on lampstands and in the corners. The blackout drapes were torn where the rod attaches to close them, and they were stained. The on-site restaurant was WAY overpriced for the quality of the food Being in Philadelphia I thought I would get a Philly Cheesesteak and fries. It was without a doubt the worst one that I have ever had! Cold dry and flavorless! of the three elevators for 12 floors, only one was running. Everyone in the elevators was complaining about it. I am glad I was only there for one night. I definitely will avoid this hotel and this hotel chain in the future.

The parking was free and ample, the front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and the housekeepers were great. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. By contrast, the servers and cooks in the restaurant seemed totally overwhelmed: it took an unbelievably long time to be served a glass of water much less our food. Maybe it was just a particularly busy night. Dinner was meh, but the breakfast was quite good. The front desk told me that they are about to start renovating the rooms, which seems like a good idea. The pool was constantly full of kids and so unavailable to adults who weren't their parents -- maybe the hotel could institute some adult-only swim hours. Also, charging extra ($10) for wifi in the rooms seems completely outrageous. It's 2018 -- free wifi should be a given..

Staff was very friendly. Right next to the airport

The room was nowhere near the price. A hotel that still charges for internet access and gouges you to print a document and the staff seemed continually annoyed Horrible experience

Requested high floor at booking but was given a 3rd floor room at check-in and informed the hotel was fully booked. The initial room had a problem with the lock so I could not enter. Went down to reception and explained the problem, and was immediately given a new room at a higher floor from different agent. So much for being fully booked. Elevators are in desperate need of replacement. All noisy and sounding like they are ready to fall apart. Rooms are dated. Whole facility need a major overhaul. Excellent location, spacious, and amazing parking that close to the airport - and parking is free!

Booked a last minute stay at the Renaissance due to a cancelled flight. Not somewhere I would typically book but proximity to the airport made it one of the only options. I wont be staying at this location again as the rooms are in DIRE need of updating. AND cleaning! Put out my order for room service within the allotted time and they never picked it up so nothing the next morning. This is not a cheap hotel and I would expect better. C'mon Renaissance!

Television satellite services was extremely temparmental during Thursday night NFL game as well as several other popular stations. overall descent hotel for an over night stay.

Check in was less than 5 minutes, at almost midnight. Staff was friendly, and notified me that the Restaurant was still open, and I couldn't have been happier. This wasn't my first stay, and won't be my last.

From the moment we walked into hotel and 2 checking people were arguing about going home early to them not answering the phone when I called for a wake up call to their rudeness when I did talk to them about airport shuttle. I could not believe how terrible they were at every step. Beautiful hotel and room was great, but being treated like that when I'm used to hotel staff being a+ on customer service made for a bad experience. I'd never go back.

The hotel is beautiful but the security of the hotel is not nice . We have 2 kids , we stayed at hotel for 2 nights, the security came to knock the door and requested stop to make noisy , if not we must to leave hotel . We understand our little kids played too loudly but after the long day vacation , they feel happy . How the hotel security can talk like that just in the firs time ? My kids said that the people here is not nice at all

We think this hotel is a nice property, but we had a very bad experience. The room we were assigned was too hot, and we spoke to the staff about his problem before we left for a function. We were forced to be extremely uncomfortable and began perspiring heavily while we were getting dressed for our function. When we returned to the hotel, hours later, the problem was not corrected, and again we were too hot and perspiring. We went to the front desk again, and told the staff of our need to have this problem addressed immediately. We were told that the property was sold out and they could not move us to another room, so we had to wait for maintenance staff. After about 20 minutes, staff came to the room and needed to repair something internal with the thermostat. Our problem was solved, but it should not have taken so long to fix. Other than this, we think this is a nice property to stay at.

Would have been nice to have a hot tub or sauna. Pool was nice and warm-lovely. Staff was very courteous and accommodating.

Due to early morning flight we stayed overnight. Best decision we made to include the right hotel!!! Will DEFINITELY use this hotel again for future travel needs.

Hotel was in convenient location, the desk staff was pleasant and quick, the room clean and comfortable. The bar staff was bright and happy, even though I showed up for take out very close to closing time.

Very nice hotel, noise near pool atrium was too much and we moved rooms.
