Location was good. We were in an adjacent tower, rooms were old, light remodel was done. Toilet did not flush, we were only there 1 night but called twice once we noticed the issue (new years eve) and no one ever came. Beds were a bit firm. Check in was smooth especially for the large volume of people checking in. Valet service was efficient at check out.
Excellent downtown hotel. Located right by city hall, the rooms were spotless with super comfortable beds.
Great location in center city. Reading Terminal Market and Independence Hall are just a few steps away.
Great location but the lobby didn't really have much. Rooms were okay sizes.
Check in was very easy, but the entry and elevators were dated. The room was fine, but a little small. There are some nice amenities in the hotel lobby (gift shop, bar, jewelry store, FexEx Office, Starbucks), but nothing spectacular.
Had a great time. Everything was in walking distance. You could even rent a bicycle. Food was amazing. I suggest if your with a couple of friends to get one item and share it at many eateries. Try all the different types of food. Horse and buggy tour was excellent. All the free stuff to see was amazing also.
The room was standard but you're only paying for the location.
Only problem was a major convention going on and thy had to put me in the Tower which was a bit of a bother.
Room in the Annex building. Conveniently above terminal market. Nice clean room and quiet. Check out at 12pm..enough time to get breakfast able walk around!
The hotel location is great and the staff is very friendly. Recommended for families.
The room wasn't the biggest, but was plenty for our needs. The important parts were the super easy check in, incredible cleanliness of the entire building, and the friendly staff. Highly recommended, especially at the rate I got for a weekend in downtown Philly.
Good location, walkable to many attractions and restaurants.
Great stay at hotel. Clean and very convenient location.
The hotel was very nice. Service was good. Location was great. All in all it was a very pleasant stay.
Loved my stay here. Everything was amazing. Staff was friendly. Room was spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend to friends.
I would definitely stay here again. This is an urban downtown hotel. There were some shady characters (1 homeless guy actually seeking cash) in the extremely large lobby. I wasn't sure everyone in the hotel elevator was really staying in the hotel. But maybe this is just my paranoia. IE Just because a young person has a hoodie on doesn't make them a thief. With all that said this is really a nice hotel. The room was really nice. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is centrally located and in a perfect location.
Hotel was okay. Housekeeping slow and not great. No Starbucks!
Overall experience very good. Parking can be a bit difficult when lots are full This is my go to hotel when in Philadelphia.
Hi, I came to Philadelphia to visit two universities in University City. I didn't expect for the Marriot to be closely connected to everything that I needed during my stay. For example, a bank was right across the street, a grocery store was a block way and the subway is about two minutes from the hotel. For what I needed it for it was well worth it!
The best thing about this hotel is the location, right next to the Reading Terminal Market. We ate there often. Such a fun place! The location is also convenient to trains and buses and attractions. The room was fine, beds comfy, staff friendly and helpful, etc. The in-room safe was a useful addition. Another chair and maybe a small table would have been useful, but there wasn't enough space for that. Downsides: The biggest downer was not having free wifi in the room. The daily cost to add it was nearly 10% of the room rate. So we tried using the free lobby wifi, as did quite a few other guests, but it was slow and unreliable. Also, the lobby was very, very noisy with after-work party-ers. For this rate, we would have expected a complimentary breakfast. In this case, though, we didn't miss it, and really enjoyed the food at the Market (which was much better than hotel breakfasts tend to be).
