This was a remodeled Crown Plaza. It used to be a dump, but not it's a beautiful hotel with excellent service.
Stayed here for a week while doing Thanksgiving and a family memorial service. Clean, pleasant, busy hotel was just right for our large-ish family group with only one car - folks could go out shopping or to eat by foot, and we could all meet in the different seating areas in the lobby for visiting. Reasonable pricing - through an Orbitz package deal and good amenities.
This is right on city Ave close to 76..good location .parking is free but crowded. Go around back for more spotsspecific Breakfast buffet is 15 bucks. No thanks! Are they nuts? But there is a mini Starbucks in the bistro with yogurt and stuff. Eat there . In the evening the bar/bistro is hopping and a nice place to hang out. Expensive, but you don't have to drive. WiFi worked well. Music is too f'ing loud in the lobby area . It is not a disco, turn it down! I asked, and they ignored me. TV in room just ok. Limited channel selection. Locked up once I had to reboot the pc attached to the back of the set. Ok place overall.
The Hotel could not manage a group of people around 10 persons in one room. They walked, run, sang in the hallway, during the night, incredible. They produced an incredible level of noise. We went to the front desk, made the claim, they call security but nothing happen. We claim again but took a lot of time to calm this people. During several hours during the night we could not sleep.
Nice staff and hotel. Only negative is the showers were dirty and the Bistro (room service food/drinks) were insanely expensive. The Friday's right outside the hotel is delicious if you want cheaper drinks/good food. Good stay overall.
I stayed here twice so far and I noticed that the room service crews knock on the door and awake you from sleep at 8 am Saturday morning just to ask when are you checking out! I complained to the front desk about this and they responded saying that this is the only way the room service crew know if the people have check out or not! Stupid answer! but never mind, won't bother staying at your hotel again..
The WiFi didn't work. They offered to move me on the second night, but I was only staying 2 nights and it would have been a major hassle. The vanity bowl drained slowly. A tech was called on the 2nd day to unstop. The maid did not replace the used damp wash clothes. The front desk said she may have thought I planned to reuse them because they were not on the floor but drying on the vanity. Told the front desk that I was not in the practice of reusing wash cloths due to bacteria. Someone brought eventually brought towels, but it took two trips to get the order right. Also, there was no channel guide in the room. The TV was not HD and the image barely filled the small screen. On top of that, there was a strange odor in the area by the window. I could only sleep on my left side to avoid smelling it. I had to put a pillow in the office chair by the desk. It was broken and I couldn't adjust the height. What a mess!
We stayed during a busy time (Eagles game), but the hotel staff didn't seem overworked and were quite kind and engaging. The room had little spots that might need a dab of paint, but big deal for the money. Wish the bar stayed open later!
Had no problems during overnight stay. Place was quiet and comfortable.
We just got tickets for the playoff game vs. the Saints. We were able to get reservations immediately and show up amongst the big snow piles from the previous weeks snow. Thanks for all the hospitality. Too bad the birds lost though.
Staff was very nice, but hotel and rooms were pretty rundown. Decent place, good location, decent value.
Hotel was in an ideal location. The staff was friendly and nice. Only setback I had was the leak in the ceiling. We stayed for one night and woke up to a leaking ceiling the next morning due to the heavy Rain. After the hotel staff was informed they offered us another room and late check out. Unfortunately we had to leave to be at another location. The hotel is close to Starbucks, California pizza kitchen and even target. TGI Fridays is just steps away. All in all it was a good stay minus the leaking ceiling.
An overall good stay, The elevators were down. I really enjoy the Avenue Cafe and the staff. The front desk staff is good stuff.
I was in Philadelphia for some business and the hotel was located at the perfect spot. The complimentary shuttle that takes you down town is a great perk. They are currently working on renovating the hotel, but it is still decent. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 3 nights to attend a conference. The hotel staff was friendly, available, and helpful. The room was comfortable; layout, bath, bed, temperature. I ate at the Avenue Grill, within the hotel which was quite good. The staff and service was friendly, attentive and good natured. I used the fitness facilities. The room temperature was quite high the first morning, I mentioned it to staff and it was comfortable the next morning. I would recommend staying at the hotel for the above reasons.
This was a very good experience, everyone was super friendly and they were willing to help a Student out. I had a red eye flight and arrived in Philadelphia at 630 am. I called them to see if it was possible to check in early... and guess what they did. I was able to check in at 830, which was a relief especially because i was stuck in a middle seat. Then when i had to check out, they let me keep my luggage in their safe room while I had to do some more things in Philadelphia. I would definitely go there again
Nice place to stay if you are in Philly a couple of days.
We traveled to visit two local universities but was during the U.S. Open so had to deal with high prices and crazy traffic.
Really nice area to get into Philly. Saks Fifth Ave and Target are both across the street. Rush hour traffic is like 20-25 minutes into downtown.
Although the hotel is not located close to the landmarks of Philadelphia, it offers a city shutle service every hour and coming back is easy using public transportation. The area is nice and a lot of restaurants are within walking distance.
