I booked back in Oct. We picked this Hotel due to the distance to other family members. In Dec I stumbled upon reviews stating it was not open yet. I contacted both Orbitz and Wyndham and received an email stating that it would be open in Jan for my arrival. Upon arrival I find a note on the door stating the Hotel is not open yet. I was then relocated 20 minutes away to a lesser quality Hotel. The only thing offered was 50% off on my next stay …like that will happen. 2800 miles round trip to get half off. Whoopee. Both Orbitz and Wyndham need to step up to the plate. Very disappointed by both.

I booked through EXPEDIA with this hotel since August, obviously with EXPEDIA points the offer was covered with points, and also the location was perfect for my scheduled vacation. I wrote to the property asking for responses given other reviews of the building not being completed, they wrote back saying for my stay in January 2019, the hotel would be completed. I even called the property by phone, and they said it was only on minor renovations but active. Then a few days prior to the reservation, they wrote saying the hotel was not ready BUT they solved my issue by sending me to a hotel that was in another part of the city, same quality. I even tried to play along, and when i arrived with my family to the Bayport hotel, there was no way i would stay there with my family, aside from the fact that i was scheduled for parks on a different part of town. I simply returned the key and called another hotel for a room, which i had to pay, but there was NO WAY i would stay at the Bayport hotel. Total scam, i regret having booked this property, i regret having done it through EXPEDIA (i will battle for my points to be credited back, but hold no hopes as they have never taken any responsibility on any issue). Final result: DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

As the previous reviews before me state, I too booked this hotel months in advance for the weekend of Nov. 2, when we arrived we noticed it was still under construction!!! There were no signs posted or any contact information. Luckily a CONSTRUCTION WORKER informed us that our reservations had been changed to Baymont in which was about 30 minutes away from this location. I was furious to say the least at the fact that we were NEVER contacted by anyone from the hotel or hotels.com (where the reservation was booked) not to mention the inconvenience of having to drive totally out of the way. No one at the Baymont hotel could offer me an explanation as to why I was not informed of the change. We are just thankful for running into the construction worker otherwise we would have lost our money AND would have been scrambling to find a place to stay for the night.

I made a non-refundable reservation in October for a December stay. Wingate by Wyndham did not tell me until Decemeber that the hotel is not open. After talking to the many hotel reps, they could not do anything, but cancel the reservation, and offered a cheaper hotel, Baymont by Wyndham, which is 15 miles away. Even though there were other Wyndham hotels closer and available, the hotel rep. refused to say why she could not make the accommodation. After talking to Wingate by Wyndham "Customer Care", each hotel is independently operated, so when there are problems, guests will have to work out the problems with the local owner. The call to the corporate "Customer Care" was a total waste of time. This reservation was my first and last w/ Wingate by Wyndham.

We booked in Sept! Chose this establishment for the location and promise of a newly renovated hotel. I was contacted while driving to Florida with little more than 24hrs before I could cancel without penalty, told my reservation was moved over 10 miles away, which with traffic could easily take 30 minutes, to a sister location I would not have chosen. Once I researched, read some reviews I had to cancel and lost money. Very bad customer service.

I was contacted a week before my stay to be told the hotel would not be open and that I was being moved to a hotel a half hour away in an area that I did not want to stay in. Luckily, I was able to find another hotel (Radisson Lake Buena Vista) still available for pretty much the same price in the area that I wanted to be in. The worst part is that they are still advertising on Booking.com as having rooms available for my date!

Was not open when we arrived to check in and we were moved to a nearby hotel. No prior notification. No one on site when I tried to get an invoice (the other hotel balance was zero since Wingate paid them). Corporate (I guess) finally emailed an invoice to me after I asked them. The hotel should have contacted us prior to check in and given us the alternate hotel information, and should have automatically emailed us the invoice. Not typical of Wingate.

Expedia has been made aware that the hotel was not open, yet still taking reservations. I did some research and found it was not open as of late Oct. 2018. I had reservations for 11/1-11/4. I called customer service at wyndham and they had no record of reservations in system even with a confirmation number from expedia. I called Expedia, twice and was put on hold while they tried to contact hotel with no luck. Finally got a call back, Expedia rep had gotten through to Baymont(sister property.) Apparently Baymont was to be taking calls for Wingate prior to its opening. NO ONE at Wingate, Baymont or Expedia was able to give me a time line for opening, confirm that I would have a room. Expedia offered to "cancel" my reservation and not charge me(I had a refundable reservation anyway.) Seemed like a moot point since they Hotel is still not open and Expedia did not do me a favor by canceling a reservation that should not have been able to be booked. They continued to take reservations even after knowing the hotel is not open. Thankfully I called prior and was able to get another reservation elsewhere.

After a long day at one of the Disney parks, I drove to this hotel only to see that it was closed and under construction! There was a handwritten note on the door saying to contact Baymont Inn, a sister hotel 20 minutes away. Not only was I exhausted, I was furious! I never received an email from the hotel or Expedia.com. I booked this hotel 2 months ago! In this day and age how does this happen?! Shame on Wyndham and Expedia!
