Wonderful property with friendly staff

I want to start by saying I have been an Orbitz member for years and never had any problems at any of my stays. Me and my children decide to start our summer vacation in Orlando this summer. After traveling for hours in a terrible storm we arrived to The Grand Orlando Resort at Celebration. The property was beautiful and very eye pleasing. Upon entering the lobby it was extreme busy and the line to check in was long but it did move very quickly. Once I began the process of checking it was pretty smooth until getting to our room that’s when issues began to happen. I also want to state that it’s the problems that happened why I’m displeased. It’s the lack of solving the problems in a timely matter! I’m guest on vacation I shouldn’t have to deal with the problems that occurred and the lack of empathy! Okay so now me and my children get to the room and we are unable to enter the room due to the fact the latch being on the door from the inside which was VERY STRANGE because we just got there and never entered the room. I call front desk and spoke with Garen(may have misspelled her name) called around 7:31pm. I expressed to them please come quickly because I have a baby with me and we had just been on the road for hours!!!!! Also had to call a second time just to get and idea how long they would be. Maintenance didn’t arrive until 7:53pm after I explained I have a baby with me. Finally getting settled in the room, wanting to just shower and lay down. I go to the bathroom to see

The room was nice. The bed was very comfortable. Room 4706 was a great room to see the fireworks from a couple of different parks!! The refrigerator was huge. Water in the showers was nice and hot!

The property was on the strip.....the bar tender was pushy....the sheets on both of the beds were not changed, hair, tissue, and lent was on the sheets. The remote for the tv was not working. Whenever you cur the tv off you had to call maintenance to fix it.

We asked for an additional pillow and they did not have any. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We were only provided 1 face cloth in our room. The pool area was great and the food from the pool bar was good. Had to pay 2.00 for an empty cup from the pool bar.

This is the third time I’ve stayed. Can’t say anything negative. Staying again soon.

Nice property but need more parking by the 2000 bldg

From the time arrived until I left it wasn't as nice as my other visits. Had to change room and even the new room wasn't up to the standers I can only guess the place has run down in last two years being no one was staying in it.

The pool area and the lobby area were as they appear in the pictures. The staff was nice. However the build AND my room smelled like dirty laundry. The door to the restroom was sort of rotted out at the bottom. The hot water in the shower was actually LUKEWARM. The receptacle (power outlet) was missing the cover. HUGE SAFETY/FIRE VIOLATION in a building that services the public...or rather the paying public. It seems as if they painted, put up a few pictures, changed some faucets, got some new lamps, and thought it was good enough. I shall NOT be staying there again...ill take my chances with Motel 6. The location was good though, right near I-4. So the staff was good and the proximity to the free way was good. Everything else was trash.

Hot tub was dirty The pool Hot tub Shouldn't stay open later than 10 PM least tell 12 because after going to ther going to the museum parks do you want to set in the hot tub or swim the phone didn't work in our room the water was always cold in the shower And Paying for parking is ridiculous They don't make enough money off the people who stay at their hotel I probably would not recommend it

It’s an older hotel that needs some remodeling. The rooms are clean and hotel staff are very friendly. Super close to Disneyworld.

Location is good but the property is not well maintained.

My room was clean and fine, compared to other reviews. My disappointment was with the crazy billing practices which make no sense, including adding deposits into resort fees which causes guests confusion on what they are actually being billed. Silly to charge a parking fee too to essentially park in a parking lot. Restaurant was closed but they did have food items ordered from bar that were very good. Strawberry daiquiri costs $15, same price as a sandwich. (This isn’t a 4 star hotel where you expect that price). Was unable to order food all day though as power mysteriously went out for a portion of the hotel. No real breakfast area or breakfast served, except for a Starbucks with a couple of options to order a breakfast sandwich. Disappointed with that. Pool temps changed drastically every night. One felt 90 degrees, the other felt too cold to swim so kids were unable to use slide. Layout of the resort was east to navigate though and had a nice gym, although was unable to use that more than one night as the rubber floor fumes gave me a headache. I still had a decent stay despite these issues.

Our room was very dirty, I even took pictures! I was very disappointed. The outside area where our building door was located was dirty as well there was a lot of trash around the sitting area close to the parking lot. The hotel room looked like no one has cleaned it in weeks, just changed the sheets and vacuumed. The headboards had finger prints, mirrors, walls were dirty, there was so much dust everywhere. Bathroom bathtub was definitely not cleaned well! Than I checked out by text message and left my card keys in the room never for a receipt for my stay there. Called 2 days later the receptionist said she will email it and never received it. Definitely not staying at this hotel again!!
