Beaches/pools : 5/5 Not much to say, just amazing! One super plus was kids water park that has legit kids pool with several slides. As well as an indoor park that is big with plenty for kids to do. Onsite activities: 4/5 Always something fun going on, seems like they book truly talented acts, plan fun games, and extremely well produced. Staff/customer service: 3.5/5 For the most part, staff are super friendly and helpful. Not consistent though. Other staff were pretty bland or sometimes friendly but would say they would do something and then just not do it. Room: 4/5 The room we booked was clean, very spacious, comfortable stay. Felt like our bed still had some sand on it after we left, and the floor felt sandy at times too after they cleaned. Food: 3/5 Food was pretty inconsistent. Certain dishes such as the jerk chicken, hasbrowns, or ice cream were always a win. But other dishes would be pretty bland . Kind of a hit or miss.

Overall the property remains a plus for me. I ate only at the buffet which had a lot of variety. However, I thought the Jamaican cuisine was not always as tasty as I know it could be. Staff was attentive and fr the place was clean

Upon check in we were asked to pay $606.96 USD for my 10 year old son. Whereas while booking through Expedia (Canada) we had clearly added my 10 year old and paid for it upon booking. We showed our booking confirmation to the receptionist but she refused to help! After a long exhausting flight when you just want to get into your room and relax, we were pressed to pay the charges. We opened the case with Expedia and they have been trying to the reach the hotel for clarification on that particular charge but the hotel refuses to respond or reply back to Expedia (email proof available from Expedia)

The property is big and beautiful. The staff were friendly, professional and polite. The entertainment was good too! The food was good, I will say my expectations were a bit higher because Jamaica has such amazing food. The food had flavour but lacked any kind of spice which I guess was intentional to suit all guests spice tolerance. The drinks were excellent. The pools and beach were lovely. Overall it was an amazing stay and I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Great entertainment package. Staff were friendly, clean rooms. There were a lot of flies in the buffet areas and no top shelf liquor in bars.

This was my second time at RIU Ocho Rios, and I already know it won’t be my last. The staff truly makes you feel at home, and by day two, everyone knows your name, which adds such a warm, personal touch to the stay. The pools were beautiful and well-maintained, and my room was clean and comfortable. Overall, I was very happy with the experience. My only real issue was with dinner reservations. I did get into the Italian restaurant, but it took a lot of persistence and multiple attempts to secure a reservation, which was a bit frustrating, only for it to be able to fit in my small party, but they could have accommodated x3 One thing worth noting: during checkout, I accidentally forgot to turn in my room key and towel card. I wanted to mention it here just in case, as it was an honest oversight. As a suggestion, I’d love to see a movie or game room for adults, as well as a teen club in the future. Overall, it’s a great resort, and I can’t wait to book my next trip back.
