I really had a nice vacation at the Bahia Principe runaway bay. I was looking toenj9y my trip, but I had a wonderful time. From the nice Oceanview room to the hospitality and services from one of the butlers, Ashdaine and Jessica the housekeeper. These hardworking and sweet individuals deserve a bonus. So if the manager is reading this I hope you take my words in consideration.
This is my 2nd stay at this property and I truly love it my husband is a die heart cruiser, so I asked him what he was missing that he got on the cruise, and he said nothing.
Long but honest-I rarely leave harsh reviews. Paid 8k for 2 rooms for a week. Requested two beds in the room when booked and “none were available” upon arrival. Spent 8k for a grown adult to have to sleep on an uncomfortable cot. Completely unacceptable. Couldn’t even get a cot until day 3 so they slept on an hard sofa and no desire from anyone to fix the issue. I heard another complaining of same issue. Zero concern for our problem. Will not return for this reason alone. Pros- nice pools, clean rooms and comfy bed (for those that got one). Good wifi if needed. Cons- HOT restaurants. There was no useful a/c in the restaurants (with exception of The Knife). Buffets had mobile cooling machines but not very adequate. Had hibachi one night and everyone had soaked shirts from sweat after. If you’re sensitive to a/c, this may not be the place for you (room a/c was good though). Most spaces lacked a/c outside of the room. Having to dress nice to eat in hot restaurants was not pleasant. Positive-Staff was friendly at the bars and with our room staff. Always helpful.
Had a group of 14 hanging out and it was terrific. If you ever needed anything or had any issues, you could let them know and they took care of it.
I liked the pool, beach and entertainment. Most staff did not smile or even say hello. Bartenders unfriendly. Didn’t know we needed reservations to eat at a sit down restaurant and could not get it. Very disappointed to eat at buffets most of the week. Staff at front were unhelpful with helping us with reservations and later found out from other guests- if you slip them a $20- they make it happen. Never knew about the village and other beach at other end of property until the last day. No one told us. Housekeeper asked me to sneak her some food because she was hungry. If you sit in the lobby bar- staff approaches you trying to sell excursions. Best part was upon check out- no one asked how our stay was and made us walk all the way back to our room to get pool towels for return. Will not go back
Beautiful property, didn't like the fact that the type of room i requested wasn't provided and the attitude of the workers was like oh well. Nothing was done to show any compassion for the inconvenience.
Staff was amazing
The staff was extra attentive. They kept activities for us to get involved in.
I love the view from our room. The enormous pool area was amazing with its swim up bar and shady cabanas. There was never a shortage of delicious food and the staff was friendly and efficient.
The place was excellent. The service was exceptional and the food was wonderful as well. I would definitely return!
Too much walking for me as I have a bad knee. College students on Lux side acting like children at all hours of the night yelling in front of our room. Others agreed with me, it happened to them also
Large fun resort. Regular visitor. Staff friendly. Lots of choices for activities. Beautiful environment. Paradise. Numerous food options.
Did not like front desk staff…all other staff was great
