I only spent a weekend my partner n I n it was jus ok.... the a.c. in my room hardly work, I reported it n after they told me it has been dealt with it was the same. Their was no cable until the day when we were to leave. We had to watch movie from our phone jus to occupy our time bcoz their was no entertainment. The food was ok.
You really need to consider this lovely little spot. There are plenty of luxurious "all-inclusive" resorts which we have really enjoyed. We really like returning home with a smile on our faces, lots of photos on our phones and money still populating our bank accounts. So we often choose Cardiff. Runaway Bay is just a little further away from all of the tourists in Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. "Ochie" with Dunns River Falls is just 20 minutes away if you want the crowds. Cardiff Hotel is barely one kilometer from it's own supervised beach. We strolled down hill to the beach. The desk will arrange transportation if you need it. The grounds at Cardiff Hotel are really quite lovely with gently manicured local trees and gardens. We were in the pool almost every day. There is a nice view of the beach from the terraced common area. The bar and outdoor eating area are very comfortable and the reggae plays every day. There are two indoor gathering areas for your event in case there is a quick rainfall. One of the pair of rooms has a beautiful sea view. It is more than adequate for a meeting or a party. You do have a better than average chance at a delightful experience in your room. There are two wings. The oldest wing is the nicest. It is classier and quieter. The new wing is adequate, but is right on the uphill thoroughfare and so there will be a flow of motorized vehicles late at night that slows but seldom completely stops. Dining at the Cardiff is really wonderful! You will not go hungry or thirsty with sumptuous meals, snacks or beverage service 24 hours a day. We always felt safe on the compound with charming and very present security personnel. The Cardiff is more affordable because the staff is largely comprised of students from The Heart Institute who are learning their craft for professional certification. This means they are capable, polite and eager to serve. We made friends with many of them. They are quite charming! So save some money and enjoy the Cardiff Hotel.
We stayed here for 3-nights with our families and totally enjoyed the excellent and authentic meals, i.e. the buffet and the extra service. I wanted some Jamaican sorrel and black cake and was provided with this, excellent ackee and saltfish and the fried dumplings are delightful. All the meals were excellent. High Mountain coffee is excellent. No complaints with any of the meals. Check in staff in Jamaica were polite, dealing with them from abroad was not very good and I believe front desk service needs to be improved. Great pool, staff go out of their way to help, shuttles to a private beach. Hotel is undergoing renovation and so some rooms are showing their age and/or do not have up to date modern safes.
My last experience was really bad, but having stayed there so many times before I felt compelled to stay there again in hopes that the issues of last year was rectified. I was pleasantly surprised... I am happy to report that the service and staff has improved 💯. I was there last week for six nights and was sad when it was time to leave. Thanks Cardiff for restoring my faith in you and made me happily update my last review.
A quaint, picturesque estate in the cool hills of St Ann! Went there this past weekend for a Retreat and I loved it! The entire property has this unspoilt beauty, truly tranquil...Had breakfast and lunch there and let me just say,the Food was delicious! We had some glitches with the service so I would say the Customer Service could be way better! But the property itself is so gorgeous! The view from the rooms, omygosh! This place is just perfect for a mini- vacay and the prices are really affordable! Like i said, the service itself could be better but I I would definitely go back!
If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle then this is the place to go. The atmosphere is peaceful plus its a green globe hotel... The spa has one of the best masseur in Jamaica! The meal is alacarte so its no mass production..
We visited this hotel for my daughter's 18th birthday. We enjoyed the stay, the young staff members are very hardworking and eager to please. The food and our room was satisfactory. We have come to appreciate the contributions to nation building in the form of the skill training taught and developed here and will continue to support Cardiff hotel as the need present itself. Big up to Petrinea Malcolm-Sleight, really a welcoming and warm individual.
It was a wonderful experience for our first there....the food was lovely, the pool was wonderful and the staff were amazing. ..I will definitely be going back...the prices were just right. ..This place is definitely the place for you and yours if u needing a quiet get-away...
It's important to note that Cardiff Hotel & Spa (aka Heart Hotel) is a training hotel, and you have to expect that when you book. Given that there are not many choices of hotels (go with guest villas for larger groups) Cardiff/ Heart is one of the few options. The younger staff are amazing and trying so hard to learn and please - this is the one saving grace. But the staff at the front desk treat guests with disdain and indifference from the beginning. We arrived and had made our reservations via email with a manager who responded in email saying "your reservation is confirmed for the dates you requested." The manager wasn't present when we arrived and the front desk staff actually chastised us, said there was no reservation because we had not obtained a reservation number (a copy of the manager's confirmation email is not enough), and they made a big deal about finding us a room. Any subsequent request at the front desk, was met with such disdain that the message was clear: they did not want to be bothered. 3 people were at the desk always shuffling papers, and none of them wanted to help guests with simple requests. For example, they have wifi, but only in the dining area and the front desk staff say they have to call technicians to check for wifi in the rooms. Don't stay here, but book a guest villa somewhere on Runaway Bay.
not bad , clean room, good AC, good breakfast. water pressure really low, the training hotel has an uncomfortable staff hovering in the dining areas, I guess the want to ensure your okay, but it feels uncomfortable sometimes. Dinner was terrible like frozen Walmart food. But overall worth the money.
