We celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful time. Beautiful place, food was amazing! People were so friendly and outgoing. We will definitely be back!

This is my second stay here. It is fun, lively, and the beach and pool area are nice. A change has been made that really is horrible. No reservations at restaurants. The restaurant are decent but the problem is you cant make dinner reservations and it is a disaster. We stood in line for a hour at the steak restaurant and were third in line. Five minutes before the let us in the told us there was a wedding party of 40 and we could not come in. Management was called down but they did nothing. We advised the front desk and they told us a manager by the name of Christina would be there to talk to us, but she never showed or called us. All they had to do was tell us but no one did until a hour later. Waiting in line is a terrible waste of time and you dont know if you will make it in, they wont advise you. You need to be there a hour early and maybe you will make it in if not you might get the late seating which ends up being around 8:30...The buffet is not so great, pretty much the same food every lunch and dinner, same for breakfast. If definitely has gone down hill. I heard new management has taken over and it is not as good as last year when it came to the food.

Overall not a bad place but Need a new chefs and it's not a 4 and half stars hotel , the guys around kept u entertain and welcome u all the time and too many hostlers around the hotel

Smaller resort, drinks seem weaker than other resorts we stayed at, excellent ala carte dining however no reservation system, you line up and hope to get in at two different seating times

I have been to several all-inclusive resorts in this one was by far the best. As others have told you the staff are truly exceptional and dedicated to making sure you have a wonderful stay and I think they really mean it. The only slight complication was they had a plumbing problem in our shower drain slowly. Also I found their Chilean an Argentinian wines to be mediocre however their French champagne and Appleton rum are amazing. The food was exquisite if you like fresh farm to table healthy selections. My only complaint is that I'm trying to dispute an overage charge for a child that did not stay with us and the hotel is been kind of slow giving Orbitz the response I need to get my refund. But I want to emphasize that I truly would go back.

Gear experience! Wonderful vacation spot. We went in Feb. only problem was we were getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Hotel is definitely older and needs a complete makeover. But the staff was great very friendly and helpful. They have nightly entertainment which is cool. I wouldn't recommend for younger couples mostly an older crowd of people stay at this hotel. But definitely recommended for families and people 50+.

Good location , on beach, good night entertainment, friendly bar staff, waiter and waitresses where 50/50 on friendly. Out room was booked as a KING..2 DOUBLE BEDS SLID together is Not the same..which is what we had. 2 days to get refrig.working after repeated reminding the front desk. turn down service only happened part of the time. Very clean and continue to see the staff Always working to improve..

We spent a week at RIU Tropical. At first we were given a room which was supposed to be Ocean View but it was really close to the very noisy road. The stuff was very good about changing the room for us the next day. So that wend well. However, the very next night after we changed the rooms there was a problem with sewage at the building and all night long the smell in the room was just terrible. We complained in the morning and the stuff informed us that it was indeed a whole building issue and they are working on fixing it. The terrible smell lingered for a few more days after they fixed it and we had to vent the room every time we walked in. After a few days the smell was gone and we could finally relax. The water in all bathrooms at the facility is very slow to go down and many times it did not. Other than that... The food was very good. We mostly liked Steak House and Japanese. The Steak house was very hard to get in. you either have to be there by 6 pm or after 8 pm to get in which did not work well with our schedule. Buffett was always good. Beach and water are amazing! We really enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking which was included with the package. If we did not have room/smell issues I would have rated this hotel much higher. But unfortunately it seems like sewage issues are continuous at the hotel :-(

Stayed at RIU Tropical Palace from 1/21/17 - 1/28/17. Things could not have been better. Buffet offered excellent choices. No need for reservations at the four restaurants, just first come first served. Staff was excellent, always willing to help with a smile on their face. No Worries Mon. Would recommend it to absolutely anyone.

Beach is super awesome. Pools are relatively small. Not too many engaging activities. Mosquitoes bites were really annoying.

Had the best vacation! Andrew & Gray are he best bartenders. The beach is amazing there. Its my 4th time staying here & cant wait to go back!

We had a great time at the RIU Palace Tropical Bay All Inclusive. The check in process was quick and simple, greeted with a rum punch. We didn't like our assigned room and were quickly moved to a different building. The food was very good (for a large resort, buffet style) with many different options for tastes from all over the world. The specialty restaurants were great as well. Super friendly staff ready to help. Highly recommended.

Clean , good food and a value in November. Staff very nice and helpful. Beautiful beach and great to swim.

Very friendly hotel with great food, awesome staff. Gorgeous & calm beach, bring a raft because you can float for hours easily. Went to see crocodiles in black river, YS falls which were absolutely stunning & the Appleton rum distillery. The catamaran dreamer crew was super friendly & snorkeling was amazing, margaritaville's beach, dj, & drinks were fantastic. Rocks cafe is legendary & the jump was terrifying but exhilarating at the same time. I would absolutely go back in a heartbeat!!

Hotel was very clean and staff was friendly breakfast buffet was good but not to good for lunch or dinner definitely need to make reservations for steak house and other restraunts

This is our second time staying at Riu Palace-Negril. The first time we went in 2013 the food was excellent. This time the food was not nearly as good, I saw a roach in the buffet food area, a lot of fried food ,pasta and pizza, we did not think the money were worth it. The beach and water are the best at this resort, better than Palladium or any of the other Riu's in Jamaica, no sea weed, great sand. Some employees in the towel area and bar area had an attitude bc. we did not tip them, even though the tips are supposedly included in the price . Entertainment team is great.

one of my best all inclusive experience in the carribbean. Whatever was lacking in physical appearance the customer service supplemented. One draw back. No elevators Everything is at your finger tips. Activities and entertainment A rated

The only issue is the birds around the food. This is a health issue

Great food, accommodating staff,& nice location. The liquor...all inclusive.

The beach is awesome! The hotel is pretty standard for a Riu Palace (we've been to 5 others), but the buffet food was a bit lower than usual.
