I LOVED my stay at RUI Ocho Rios. There were plenty of fun activities for all ages during the day and night. I felt a warm and friendly reception from the staff and guests. The food was delicious and of excellent quality at every meal. My only concern was the check-in. After completing the check-in on line I expected the process to be smooth and easy. However, we waited over 1hr and half during which time we were informed that the room wasn't ready. Finally I asked to speak to a manager and they gave us a Beautiful, centrally located room. However they put my daughter and her 3 daughters in a room for 3 although I paid for a room with 4 adults. They were never able to fix that. Other that I Loved my stay and would go again!

The toilet over flowed one night so I had to use the towels to stop the water from going all over the room, I called the front deck to have maintenance to clogged the toilet and clean the room this was at 8pm. Maintenance came and unclogged the toilet but housekeeping never come to the room to remove the the wet soiled towels until the following day at 10am, and I did call three time after the toilet was unclogged to have the wet towels removed and bathroom clean but I think one one cared. Some of the people that work there was not at all friendly nor helpful I will never go back to this hotel very bad experience here.

This was our first time staying at a RIU resort so we didn’t quite know what to expect. We were very happy with our stay. We had an ocean view room with great views. The room was very spacious. The food was very good. There were a lot of options. We really liked trying the different Jamaican options. We recommend this resort!

Room air conditioning did not work and the outside temperatures were in the upper 80’s all week. 5 floors of rooms and only 1 ice machine worked. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. You are very isolated and unless you pay outrageous cab prices or pay for an excursion you are stuck with the only store on the property who charge $30 for sun block because they can. Have no desire to return.

The beach area was beautiful and kept nice. Unfortunately, people throw trash and cigarette butts on the ground. The room was average. I asked for an ocean view and had a giant palm tree covering our balcony. The servers at the Italian & Steak dinners were very friendly and nice. However, the people in the towel rooms at the pool and the bartenders at the pool were not as friendly. The shows were excellent and very entertaining. All in all a great vacation.
