Second, time here. Got off to a rough start. However, that changed because of the positive energy from the staff. Will come back

That one Buffett was all I needed. Sushi place not so good, but I came to Jamaica for Jamaican food and they did some very nice homemade style cooking. Loved it!

We had booked a standard ocean front room. However, when we got there, they told us we're being "upgraded" to a junior suite. The upgrade was actually a demotion as the room was ocean view and not ocean front. Plus it was super noisy as it was facing the entertainment area. I called them and they gave us what we had originally requested - quiet, ocean front room. Drinks were OK. We loved the Mariachi and would've liked to get more. But every time we asked for it, they said they are out of Tequila. It was also challenging to get beach towels later in the day (around 3pm). I thought this was a bit odd given that they are a beach resort.

Hotel had a nice beach. Offered a bunch of excursions. Food was okay. Staff was very energetic and went out of their way to make sure you were enjoying yourself.

Needs updating. Been to nicer/ cleaner beaches on Lake Erie! No room services . No wait staff at pool, on beach or any of the resort lounge areas. No top shelf brand liquor. Pool not heated and ice cold. Hair dryer broke first day - took 3 days to get a new one. When it rains there are several areas of flooding throughout the resort, including the mildew smelling sports bar. Literally nothing to do if it rains. Food was decent. The jerk chicken was amazing!

A couple of things you should know. There is a deluxe section and they charge around $50 a day for it. Nothing on Orbitz prepared us for this upgrade! Without it you end up staring at the parking lot in an outdated room..... Everything else is subpar compared to the deluxe! The food is mediocre but the romantic beach dinner for an extra $150 is by far the best money you will ever spend! We received 5lb lobster TAILS! It was delicious and really added to our experience. Other than the bartenders and your maids, everyone else is pretty grumpy. Clearly an attitude adjustment is needed! Skip the Japanese restaurant, the food is nasty ad the waiters are just as bad.... The entertainment is pretty good but the trash burn pits in the middle of the beach were just tacky!. Stay on property for the beach. We walked to the left on the beach and discovered hundreds of beer and coke bottles littering the beaches...

Overall we had a very good time with my daughter The mattres in the room were too uncomfortable.. could feel the coils very worn down Too must smoking of pot that the smell wasn’t in the site some days even in the room at 5th floor .

Other than 6 days of rain had a wonderful time. Hotel staff made the place, especially the dancers at the shows. Food very good. Hotel credits were falsely advertised. Overall a great trip!!

Nice hotel, large open Lobby. Plenty of places to eat and plenty of activities. You can hang out at the party pool or relax at the adult pool. Pools are far apart. Property is huge. They have a large Beach with activities and a jerk hut. Only drawback is the 1 1/2hr shuttle from the airport

The staff tried to make my stay accommodating and friendly. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Hotel staff was very professional .Will highly recommend.

Food was ok, but my room had a mouldy smell. The a/c vents needed to be clean. Even though they say that the hotel is smoke free, I see guest smoking in their rooms and on the premises. I expected so much more from them. The rooms were not equipped with a coffee maker and my room didn't have an iron in it. Very disappointed. My mind is completed changed from all inclusive hotels now. I keep trying them but it only keeps on getting worst.

I have been to Jamaica 8 times in the past 3 years and and all my stays were excellent except this one, I thought riu was a good hotel until I actually stayed there, the rooms has a strong scent of mold, even when entering the restaurants you smell it so my guess is there’s mold in the a/c system, the beds sucked, the mattress were hard and uncomfortable, the pillows should be thrown out. I spend most of my time outside not because i wanted to but because i really didn’t want to go back to that horrible smelling room, even when i got back to New York i had to wash all my clothes even the ones I didn’t wear because they all smelled of mold. The next thing is the food selection, i went to Jamaica to experience local food, not the American food i eat everyday, the snack shop had pizza, fries and other junk the only place is the jerk hut which is only open from 12-3 where i could get good Jamaican cuisine, the restaurant has Jamaican food at dinner and breakfast but its just 1 or 2 choices not a wide selection. Overall my stay there was not pleasant, the staff was good but the amenities were awful, i stayed there from October 16-22 and i was on the phone trying to cancel from the first night and I couldn’t even get the manager, either he wasn’t there or i had to check back later. I’m never staying at RIU again.

I chose an all inclusive package and had the BEST time. I was highly impressed from the moment I reached the resort. Everyone was friendly and professional. There were restaurants to cater to your taste no matter what it is. Food was delicious and plentiful. There was entertainment every night, and plenty of nearby attractions if you want to venture beyond the resort. I plan to visit again in the near future.

My self and husband was at this hotel 2015 and returned back 8/6/2018 with 15 family members we had a wonderful time. excellent hotel Beautiful beach Nice pool Delicious food and cocktails. Would highly recommend to everyone family's kids couples. i give Riu Ocho Rios Five star. Will definitely be back to this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The food was excellent and the staff was very curteous.

I enjoyed all of the activities they had for the adults and the kids.

Enjoyed the stay. Only problem was with WiFi for couple of days. Good food. Very relaxing!

it was wonderful need flat screen tv they have old tv need to change it

I thought the hotel was fantastic and have done plenty of travelling across the globe. The staff was great at the front desk, the room housekeeping, and the restaurants. After reading some mediocre reviews about the food, I was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived. I thought the food at all of the restaurants was excellent--breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There were plenty of activities throughout the day and night.
