I tried to cancel my reservation they took my money and took my reservation and gave my room away after I called manager wasn’t available for four days then declined my request for a refund

GOOD: Not too noisy/crowded location. BAD: Bed sheets were stained. Bed was very old and springs got stuck in our backs many times. Room heater was super old and made a LOUD noise during the night. Walls were cracked and paint faded. Bathroom was the least bad part of the room, towels were clean. Floor carpet was torn up and stained. Halls had a weird old smell. SERVICE: Had to ask 2 days in a row so they would change the bed sheets. Receptionists were nice but didn’t do anything about what I asked until I asked more than once. OVERALL: 3 out of 10

Everything was great. Clean, good service ex. The only thing the bed was not very comfortable and pillows were not great.

Small room, bathroom in hall shared by everyone on hallway. No soap or toilet paper. Room too hot, no way to control room temp..

The room looks nothing like the photos. Tv was literally hanging on it’s side, rug, sheets. Towels were dirty. Restrooms had no toilet paper. When requested they told us we had to wait till the following morning it was 4pm.

There were three roaches in my room, one of the nastiest places that I’ve stayed in New York, I normally use Orbitz to book my hotel us, but this is the last time, I never knew that orbits worked with those types of hotels, the bathroom was shared with another eight people, it was disgusting, I regret staying there I am so sorry for saying

I would understand if the carpet is old or facilities is not updated because it’s cheap but the toilet lid looked like it hasn’t been washed for a long time. The drawer stinks and dirty. From that we didn’t touch anything else.

Location and price work great. Room was very clean and comfortable. But my second night there the heat broke. Front desk staff refused to help until morning and no refund was offered.

I will never book this hotel again. Never. It was dirty, uncomfortable, and the location is pretty diverse. Very close to Bronx and you can feel it. ( Bad part of NY). For 158 $ per night I could find something better. About the bed. Are you looking for place where under your sheets will be oilcloth? Come to the Morningside inn, every time during night you will wake up after you will decide to turn during sleep. Why? Because of the sound as if you sleep in the paper. Clean bathroom? Why do you need this luxury attribute. Mold on the walls and towel instead of bath mat are waiting for you.

The room was really small and the staff was really unprofessional and rude. Even the Manager. He set an appointment with us because we had an issue and never showed up. We checked in in a room with no towels that were to be ready at 6pm. At 9pm we went to ask front desk for the towels and that guy said: “ Ask them tomorrow when the maid comes because I would have to go downstairs to grab them, but that is not part of my job”. He argued with us for an hour and we still ended up without towels. The day after, in the afternoon we were still without towels. The manager hasn’t done anything to rectify the situation nor apologized. Never again!!!

No AC, no working fan, no soap in the bathroom, deplorable conditions.

Very loud argument, apparent fight between adults disrupted my sleep. I learned walls are paper thin.

Terrible. To avoid at all cost... the receptionist is rude and non educated

I booked this hotel despite the reviews because of its location, extremely convenient for my trip. the bus to LaGuardia is right at the corner with broadway and it is perfect to use the room just to shower and store bags. the hotel is very old and it hasn't been remodeled in decades. the rooms are extremely small with no amenities and in very poor conditions. there is not even room to hang your clothes; just a little credenza with a couple of drawers. the bed was ok, basically a matress on wheels and acceptably clean sheets; despite the poor setup I was exhausted and slept well for a few hours. the shared bathrooms are in very poor conditions and need repair. I am used to travel in a spartan way and I made it work for me. it's a cheap place where to crash for a few hours, shower and store your bags. the overall quality is very low and it makes everything look less clean than it is. you pay for what you get. make sure you are ok with that.

No seating in lobby Shared bathroom ???? Hot water for breakfast !!! tiny room from 1946 25 min check in .... we cand find your reservation ... what card you used ... What is ORBITZ ???? front desk lady asked Cracked sink, shower with Only Hot and Cold water Bed mattress had metal springs outside

The supervisor and the young lady at the front desk were superb..I had an a little issue with the cable.the young lady at the front desk quickly notified the engineer and the gentleman took care of the problem.the rooms were clean I didn't have to wait..The hotel is in a great neighborhood lots of restaurants and bars. The train is near by and very convenient. I will definitely book again.

The room itself didn't seem unclean but the hotel conditions in general were dirty. The room is tiny, there is little privacy and you can hear everything. The shared bathrooms were tiny and gross. The trash was overflowing onto the floor. The tub was clean, however.

I loved the location but the hotel itself was nothing close to pleasing. My room was smaller than expected . The hotel photos are very deceiving.

This is more of a hostel than a hotel. Spartan room, shared bathroom. Very spartan. It was the best location for my trip and I was traveling alone, so it was the best value. But that is about all.

OK. First, I should have known better than to "prepay without refund". But it was 1 block away from where I had appointments over the weekend. So how could it be such a bad deal? Let me count the ways! 1st they asked for a credit card to keep on file -- fine, even though it was prepaid already online. Then they said they would keep payment on that card and I'd get a refund from the web site. Slimy way of not paying a commission I'm sure. I protested but they refused to change it saying the website had already been informed. (Still waiting on that refund.) As to the room, the first one I was given was a really depressing 7 x 7 dark room and shared the bath down the hall. NO way when I'd booked a "deluxe" room online. I rejected 5 more rooms when they jubilantly "found" an available "best room in the hotel". It did have a private bath, even though you had to scoot sideways to get to the shower and you had to go out to the bedroom to dry off after a shower. Lets say it had a "half" bath. Then on Sunday morning I was awakened at 7am thinking the building was collapsing. They were demolishing the hallway ceiling to replace old wiring and cable. (Oh did I mention the TV rabbit ears?) A ladder was in my doorway and I could not get out until the guys came down and moved their scaffolding. The front desk apologized for not warning me about work in the building. For the rest of the day my hallway was 2 to 3 inches thick with plaster and lathe and sheetrock. Unbelievable! I moved to a really terrific hotel on 79th for only $40/per night more and wondered why I ever went through that first night! Well, I know why: I'd prepaid and they were clear there were no refunds -- and I thought, oh well its just a short little adventure. Never again. This was worse than most hippie flop houses I happily stayed in as a youngster overseas. But those were $5/night and worth it. This was cheap, well located, and totally NOT worth it. And why the booking website allows them to scam their commission payment is beyond me! And I'm still waiting on that web refund!

Sorry but there was a miscommunication. You wanted to enjoy the city has I waited for you during the day but you left out of your room from early morning until late night. The misunderstanding for your towels was a simple error has you had a DO NOT DISTURB Notice on your day and we do respect our customers privacy
