Park Lane Hotel

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Ok, lets start from the beginning: 1. First room that was given to me was dirty with used water in the sink. Also the tub had pubic hairs in it. 2. Second room had stains on the towels. Also, a pubic hair on the soap dish near the sink. 3. Constant buzz sound coming from the bathroom. Had to keep door closed throughout stay. 4. Mold in the refrigerator. 5. Housekeeping came into the room without knocking. Hope they enjoyed seeing me in my towel. 6. Security came into my room twice to check on the smoke alarm because someone on the floor complained about smoke. 7. The condition of the hotel felt like someone locked the front door in 1989 and didn't open it back up until 2018.

The woman working the front desk needs to take customer service classes. Rude and I'm sorry I don't have the room I reserved (and paid for) but don't put me in a crappy room instead. The room was outdated, the blind over the window wouldn't go up and the only thing new about the bathroom was the shower head. Tile was yellow in spots and broken in other spots. Water leaded out of the faucet handles when the shower was turned on. The only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast. Service was spectacular and the food was good. Otherwise I would have given this hotel a 'Terrible' rating.

Best location, awesome park views. Good value for NY. On the other hand, the rooms need to be updated. The bathroom seems to be over 20 years old.

Great location, great staff! The room was very spacious, and comfy!

The Park Lane Hotel rooms are spacious with spectacular views of Central Park

We enjoyed our stay! What a wonderful location and comfortable rooms. Concierge Staff was always helpful. Double beds in our our room but they were comfy!

Wonderful location with a park side view of Central Park; bed was comfortable; space was nice and large. I felt quite at home for several days. This is a beautiful hotel!

We arrived during a Nor’Easter, and thankfully Nino at the reception desk helped us immediately. Check in was super smooth and we were in our room within minutes. The room was spacious and had a great view of Central Park and the pond. Easy access to multiple subway stops. Definitely recommend.

The property is a beauty, with many amenities! The check in staff were outstanding, and the check in process very efficient. The rooms are attractive and large by NYC standards. Good water pressure in the shower! There is a wonderful reception for the guests in the evenings... very European in style. Our one negative came from the snatch-y bar staff... grumbly and not particularly accommodating for a room delivery request. It seemed very out of place when compared to the rest of the staff.

Can I just make a list? 1. Room is not like the picture. City view is a view into other apartment windows. 2. Sink had mold. 3. Hair on door and wall and ceiling of bathroom. Tub looked old and woren. 4. Within first 15 mins in the room, whilst changing, was walked in on by housekeeping. No apology given by staff. 5. Never was explained about the breakfast. Only saw 40 for breakfast,. Then got a bill for 33 for facility fees. Facility fees?? Mind you I checked in at 3pm on a Friday. Got charged for breakfast, use of amenities, and for calls and housekeeping for that day. A. Only there two nights, never had housekeeping come to the room, except when they walked in on me. B. Never used the phones. C. Never used the gym or pool. D. This so called free breakfast, the place was always empty or the doors were closed so how would we have used the free complimentary drinks. We had to pay for drinks at Harry's Grill and Bar. Was only told of a social thing that evening of check-in at 5. So needless to say, can't justify 33.00 per night facility fee 6. Originally reserved two rooms but a week before the stay we cancelled ONE room. Continued to receive emails regarding the stay up to the very day from orbitz. Got there and found that their reservation center cancelled both rooms. Called Orbits and they got it fixed. So basically, I wouldn't reserve there again. Oh, plus you have to 75.00 a day for parking. Expected so much more.

The hotel is a nice landmark with a great location overlooking Central Park. Carpets are old and stained. Bathroom tiles and tubs are chipped with old creaky faucets. My room came with a free cocktail hour with drinks and hors d’oeurves which was a nice touch.

Hotel in located in front of Central Park (south area) and between the 6th and 5th avenue which provides you with excellent dinning and shopping choices. Hotel bar and restaurant - in need of improvement (although they were renovating it)

Did not get help with a mail No room service Messy 2 hours buffet gift with clients carrying drinks everywhere

Great location. Clean and comfortable room. Very accommodating staff.

My wife and I had a very pleasant initial experience, our room was in a high floor as we requested an it had a partial view of Central Park as advertised. But that was it, the daily afternoon event was always crowded an the food and beverages of dubious quality, similar remarks can be applied to the breakfast offer. We had additionally several partial electric outages in our room which were repaired in a matter of minutes. We also had several maintenance visits to our room while we were occupying the room. To add to this the day before our departure we had no water supply for half a day, the staff deny any resposability for the failure attributing it to “the city” no satisfaction was offered or given by the inconveniences. Instead the key to our room ceased to work the last day of our stay, when this was reported the staff took forever to process and they claimed our reservation was for one less day. We had already checked our reservation on the day of arrival and at the middle of our stay. The burden of the searching was put in our shoulders, luckily my wife had a copy of the Orbitz reservation, not from Expedia as they incorrectly claimed and they had to provide the full stay. The behavior of the staff was absolutely inapropiate and hostile. Not a single apology was given.

We had a grand time in the Parklane. The staff were always helpful and responsive. Everythimg was well presented and efficient. Very comfortable and clean each day of the 3 days we stayed. We definately would return! Lovely convenient location.

It's nicely located on Central Park South with easy subway access. Rooms are large and staff mostly responsive. However, when we checked out we got a bill for daily "fee" and a visit to a supposedly free happy hour where we had cheese cubes and water. I asked about the fee and was told it was for "amenities." Like what? Elevators and a TV? Pretty angry about this

I was nervous about staying at the Park Lane after reading other reviews, but I'm certainly glad that I did. Can't beat the location. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and had a nice view. I might have been annoyed about the resort fees if I didn't know about them in advance. With the daily happy hour and the encouragement to take as much as you want, I think I got my resort fee back in food and soda.

To be near Central Park is a luxury. Also it is very easy to get around the city from that location.

Loved it! Comfy and clean beds, centrally located! Close to restaurants, stores and Central Park !
