6 days relaxing not a party resort great staff not a lot of food choices but food was great

We had such a great time! The staff are attentive and so much fun! Nepaul and Alex at the bars are fantastic and everyone is so happy and go out of their way to be helpful! The resort is so peaceful and everything is beautiful! We also really enjoyed our excursions and our driver Sinclair was pretty great!

We loved SATP and found it to be extremely relaxing. Short, escorted walk across road to beach and loved having the beach bar and grill right there to spend the whole day if you wanted to. Tree house room was a home away from home and comfortably quiet. Lighting in bathroom could use improvement and while the shower was nice and big, hard to control jets sent sheets of water all over the floor outside the shower every time. Staff extremely nice and helpful. Alex was our favorite and fun to be with! Pool and swim up bar gorgeous, hot tub relaxing. Grounds stunning, especially at night. Now, for the food. I am not a foodie, but the fare offered here, even in the reservation restautants, is mediocre. While plentiful (buffet) I found the food to be meh and fairly bland. Drinks while plentiful, are fairly boring and uninteresting to look at - in a tropical setting, a tropical, pretty way of serving drinks was expected, but a plain plastic cup is all you get. Another piece of advice - stroll down the beach towards the vendors at your own peril. Some are downright abusive, One even giving me a lecture about her pricing practices (all over-priced, run of the mill jewelry, trinkets ect) as a result of how much it costs her to get back and forth to her stall. Not my problem and I stormed off and bought plenty where I wasn't brow beaten and harrassed to buy. You can't even walk down that end without being bothered to the max. Overall, would we return? Yes, but not likely!

I can see why Sunset at the Palms has such rave reviews on Trip Advisor -- everything about the resort was exactly as expected. This was our first-time visit. The tree house rooms were private and spacious, the grounds were large enough to not feel crowded, but small enough to feel intimate, and the staff was fantastic. The staff truly seemed happy to serve and happy to interact with their guests. Couple of pointers: 1) Go to Fireman's Lobster on the Boardwalk and experience the most delicious, freshly caught, and for us largest lobster we've ever had. It's a 5 min cab ride away 2) Experience the Jerk Chicken and Fish Tacos at the Beach Grill -- again, some of the best I've ever had 3) Bring lots of bug spray (I used with Deet) as the bugs do get aggressive at dusk/after dusk. 4) Bring some small bills to tip with, not necessary to do every day, but I know the staff appreciates it 5) Expect to have one of the best Carribean trips you've ever had! My husband and I had been to many beach cities in Mexico over the years, and Sunset at the Palms is at the top of our list. Thank you SO MUCH to Miesha at Concierge. I had a highly allergic reaction to a bug bite on my eye and Miesha called a doctor to visit me at the resort and provide the medication I needed to resolve the reaction. This was a lifesaver and helped us enjoy the remainder of our trip. We can't wait to go back! I can definitely see why people return 4, 5, 11, etc times. This place truly is perfect paradise.

Excellent very relaxing.Good food and lots of drink.

This resort is for someone who is looking for just a low key vacation. Small quiet resort. Everyone is very welcoming. The Beach is across the street but is very Beautiful and Clean(less of a walk than I have walked in larger resorts).

This was our third year in a row and we will continue to stay at this resort. Couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.

Staff was exceptional. Food excellent. Resort very clean

If you like to feel secluded, this is the resort for you. Unfortunately, this is not something my partner and I like. Tree frogs start their mateing call around 4pm-7pm. We were unable to sleep through this. It is extremely loud and so are the insects. The windows are not real windows we are use to. Every noise and sound comes through them. The Windows are made out of wood and close like blinds. I felt like I was camping. The food was delicious. The staff is great, the resort is just not for us. I checked out early and went to the Royalton Sands in Montego. This resort is more our type. Large pool, great music, great food, no tree frogs.

My wife and I had an excellent stay. The resort is very unique and enjoyable. The wildlife and setup for the resort is great. Couldn't have asked for a better place for the price we paid. Highly recommended!!

The "treehouse" rooms were very clean and had very fancy bathrooms, and nice balcony. Beautiful grounds with palm trees and gorgeous flowers. The food was excellent. Each night was a different type of food, for example, Mexican, Italian, etc. Breakfast was wonderful every morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. The walk across the street was a short walk to the beach. Be prepared for the peddlers that walk on the beach. They aren't threatening, but they are persistent.

Website for hotel very misleading , the rooms are as shown on website. The staff was somewhat rude the moment we arrived, we had certain request for our rooms before we arrived. When we checked in and asked about our rooms , they told us that the rooms are the way they are. So instead of our family being next to each other , they put one room on one end of the property and the other on the other side. The rooms when we get there are dirty and have a bad smell of old food and alcohol . The buffet had very little to choose from each day The beach is off site and is only open from 7am-7 pm So no access for walking on the beach at night with my wife. For being an adult hotel the entertainment only lasted an hour at night and usually was through by 8:30 or 9:00 and then the hotel pretty much closes down If you don't tip everyone you come in contact with and I mean everyone be ready for bad looks and rude staff My wife and I travel quite a bit and this by far has been the worst experience I have had at a 4 or 5 star resort

Everything was wonderful. Staff amazing, food wonderful, the drinks great and location was perfect. Tucked away in treehouses the beach was only a short walk across the street. Although the resort is not directly on the beach, we found at other 'large' resorts sometimes the walk is much longer if you do not have an ocean front room. The landscaping and decor was perfection. The vibe was serene and relaxing. We were nestled in a charming bungalow 10ft up amongst endless trees and flowers. The room beautiful and clean! Food was wonderful every night, in particular the buffet and the chefs table we did one night. Many choices and everything was tasty. Coffeebar made my mornings, and the staff the front desk, security, chefs, waiters, gardener, bartenders, entertainment ( shout out to the piano man Paul Tucker) everyone was so kind and extremely friendly. We will definitely miss the sunset palms and cannot wait to return for a longer stay. Thanks!

From the very begining, arriving at the resort, we were welcomed with warm smiles and immediate service; and the refreshing fruit punch brought to us was perfect after our travels from NYC to Negril. The staff was so incredible. There was no doubt that they enjoy their work. Everyone was warm and personable. The food was spectacular and I am a vegetarian, but always had plenty of choice. The executive chef even went out of his way to prepare some grilled vegetables for me when they provided guest with a welcome cocktail party! The beach was wonderful. Lots of good music, sunshine, local flair and an awesome snack bar and beverage bar. We still feel the affects of this amazing vacation. We loved our room, the food, the atmosphere, Mr. Tucker! and the value. We highly recommend Sunset at the Palms in Negril. We will definitely be back.

As title depicts, this resort is a true Jamaican experience. If you would like to stay in a treetop cabin surrounded by beautiful gardens and royal palm trees this is the place for you. If relaxation is what you want amongst the friendliest and best staff in all of Jamaica - then pack your bags. The beach is across the road but a very short walk. We are beach people and enjoy it so much we spend most of our day there amongst calm, crystal clear carribean water. Food is good/can find anything to your liking. We are return guests/7th time!

we had a fab time at this resort. very quiet, laid back. great beach the water was warm and calm. patra the gardener chopped and got me my fresh coconut water every morning. i tipped him for his efforts. the bedding was a little worn and needs to be replaced but overall we were happy. excellent food everyday.

Nice quiet resort, but tree frogs made it hard to sleep at night. Very nice beach but beach was across the street and closed at 7 p.m. There was only one small pool, I was not impressed with the pool.

I'm a veteran traveler and this is by far one of the theee best resorts that I have ever been too

Super clean rooms. Loved the layout of the little treehouse cottages. Very private and peaceful. Comfortable big bed. The grounds and plants were beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff. Food was wonderful. We felt very spoiled and pampered with the foods and drinks. Nice entertainment nightly. Loved the open atmosphere of the dining area. A very beautiful resort. A very short walk to the beautiful beach. Also loved the bar/grill on the beach. A very safe place to vacation. We really liked that there wasn't large noisy crowds of people! It was very calm and peaceful. Only wished they had screens on the porch doors so that we could have opened them without mosquitoes coming in. Bugs were very minimal. Wish room wasn't close to road. A little noisy at night. Would have liked to have been away from the road. All in all it was a wonderful mini vacation and would highly recommend this place to other vacationers.

This was my first all inclusive experience and i have to say that i truly loved every minute of it. The resort is beautiful and was very relaxing. The staff was great and was always willing to lend a helping hand. The only thing which is not a complaint but we didn't know is that the only AC in the whole resort is in your bedroom.. But overall i can't wait to return to this little quiet adult resort...
