The property itself was fine. Fun area, clean rooms. In theory it should offer everything you need for your south beach stay. In practice, the staff goes out of their to be as unhelpful as possible. If you can find a person, then surely they won’t help you. From beach chairs, towels, bikes to breakfast at each step the staff found away of avoiding telling us how to get one of these services (which you pay an $40 for). That’s assuming you can actually find someone at the front desk, which was rare. It wasn’t a terrible place, but these things could’ve easily been fixed.

Great place to stay! The room was simple, well decorated and flowed well. A couple slight maintenance issues like cracked paint in the bathroom but its still a great hotel. Close to the beach, CitiBike program and right center in the heart of fun. The pastry and coffee, water, and drinks at the Clevelander made it even better!
Perfect location in the middle of South Beach. Do not bother with valet parking! A parking house is there behind in the same block, may leave car for 24 hours for $50, did not need to take car out after checking out. Coffee and croissant for breakfast in cute patio restaurant next door. Loved it! Will be back next month! Thanks!
Reserved a suite, given a standard room with no adjustment to my rate
1. There are no electric plugs available, i had to ask maintenance for extension cord with additional outlets. 2. Additional charge of resort fee of $100, which was not mentioned in description of services. 3. Nothing is free. You have to go to different building for breakfast
First time I've ever prepaid my entire stay, verified my room twice with emails and once via phone call the day of arrival, only to show up and be told the hotel was overbooked and I had no room available. At 11 pm. On a very busy holiday weekend. And my refund would take up to 2 weeks to process. Maybe it worked out. Very musty smell in the lobby. Dank actually. Furniture and decor were older and worn. Tried to work something out with them and Orbitz. Per the CSR, the person they were talking to at the hotel hung up on them. Can't comment on the room. Based on everything else I saw, heard and smelled I'd venture to guess it's not good. Do yourself a favor, don't book this hotel and don't book a hotel through an app. Orbitz offered no help aside from a $10 credit for a cab to another hotel. 0 stars 0/10 rating
It was great - a comfortable and clean place to stay.
Room was excellent and staff was very friendly, but there was no continental breakfast when I asked and the bar was closed in the lobby.
My stay was a short one the young lady that checked me in did a phenomenal job she was very informative and helpful unfortunately the rest of the staff seemed to be indifferent and that goes for the Essex house and the Clevelander The room was very nice looked clean but the age of the room showed through even in the carpets and if you plan on using the jetted tub in the large rooms make sure you start the water forty-five minutes before anyone wants to get in the small amenities in the room are clutch the fridge the iron and board and others definitely came in handy After our event that night I arrived at the night club / party at the epsn poolside part that i was told would remain open until 0500 i attempted to enter at 0320 i was told by the large bouncer "na we closed" i entered the Clevelander to confirm this and the gentleman at the front desk stated "there's no way its closed look how many people are out there" this put a damper on the hopes for a night cap as i still was not allowed into the bar area. Make sure you call for your vehicle from the Valet thirty minutes before you need it as they instruct you to. I may have to try this place again and see if i get a different result but right now it was just an ok place to stay
The Essex house is in a GREAT location and is reasonably priced. The check in staff (Leo?) was VERY helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
