Pleasant staff no matter time of arrival, close to many restaurants and mall. Close to 95. Room always ready even with personal preferences. Breakfast is okay with many choices, never seems to be crowded.
Myrtle and I really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was fresh new and comfortable. We were upgraded due to the air-con being too noisy in our original suite and this was done with grace and professionalism by Stephanie and Justin. (2 bdrm 2 bath) Thanks to both of these fine people our stay was fantastic. We used the fitness centre and pool which both were a great experience. Nibbles and drinks at 6pm were incredible and a generous memorable relaxing experience. Breakfast was the best that we have had yet in the States with a hot buffet fresh fruits and loads of selection. Thanks so much Residence Inn. We loved it. 😊
The Good: very strong & sturdy luggage carts + excellent breakfast buffet for guests. The bad & ugly: reservation for a "bedroom suite." If the room was any smaller, it would qualify as a tiny house. Toilet was dirty on arrival. Towels were small and what I suppose they are like at a Motel 6. No ice bucket in room. Ice only available from the barf downstairs. No anti-slip mat in tub. Very disappointing sgtay..
We always try and choose a Marriott property but especially we stay at the Residence Inn in Florence SC, when driving from Washington DC to SW Florida. It is close enough to the 1/2 way point, close to I 95, very clean.
My first time staying at the Residence Inn was absolutely amazing. When being checked in the woman at the front desk was amazing and extremely helpful. I was so impressed by the look of the hotel and how huge the rooms were that I knew that Residence Inn would always be my choice. After booking a second reservation yesterday April 23, 2018. While trying to check in I was told that I could NOT stay at the hotel if i stayed within 60 miles of the hotel. I was also told that my reservation would be canceled. He continued to say that all Marriott hotels were that way in Florence, SC and that the only one in Florence, SC that would allow an individual to stay at a hotel within 60 miles was the Courtyard. This was extremely embarrassing and I am extremely disappointed to hear that if you stay within 60 miles that only one Marriott was open to guest within 60 miles. This statement also confused me for I just checked in into that hotel two days prior and was greeted nicely and was able to stay in a room. The guy also stated that it was an extremely strict policy which did not seem so strict since I was able to check in a couple days ago. It doesn't matter if you would like a weekend getaway, or if you are homeless, maybe your house is too far away and you want to take a quick nap, they could care less and I have to say I am extremely disappointed.
I have stayed at this hotel many times & overall it has always been a great experience. However, this last set of trips to Florida I was hit with a pet fee increase that I had not been advised of since I booked my rooms. I was told it was due to renovations yet my first room looked exactly the same! The fee was always high but I find this increase to be a bit too much. So sad because I always liked staying at this hotel.
Just a review of this hotel's idea of a handicap room. The bed is very tall, very difficult to get in safely if you hurt. The bathroom has a tub so that requires you to climb over it to get a shower. There is a seat. There is nowhere to plug in a nightlight in the toilet/tub portion of the bath, as the sink with the outlets is on the other side of the door. This is not safe if you have mobility problems. Also, it is on the third floor so if you can't use the elevators in an emergency, and you can't walk, then what happens? All was clean and staff nice, but I do wish Marriott would ask a handicap person how it works in real life.
Driving from Philadelphia to Savanna, we stopped here for the night. It's a great hotel, convenient to exits on 95 and lots of shopping around it. The restaurant choices are all chains with pretty crummy food but lots to pick from. We had a king suite with a full kitchen. Very roomy. Quiet, comfortable beds and free breakfast. A good place to spend the night.
We pulled off the interstate in Florence and were surprised to see four Marriotts in a row, all of them fairly new. We surmised that the area was built up due to the nearby convention center and probably is pretty busy when a big show or convention is going on. We chose the Residence Inn because we knew the room would be big (it was). It was a fine hotel, with a happy hour (snacks and drinks) going on when we arrived. Easy, quick, courteous check in. Our room was clean and large with the usual Residence Inn amenities (kitchen, dishes, etc.). The breakfast was what we expected, just fine. The one problem I have with all Residence Inns is that they don't have ice machines. The reason is that there is a refrigerator with a freezer, but there is never any ice made when we get there. Also, sometimes the local water doesn't taste all that great, and I much prefer the filtered water in a regular hotel ice machine. Aside from this, our stay was very good. Our room was on the fourth floor and very quiet.
The location is ideal to I95 and centrally located in commercial district. Easy to get a bite, or do some shopping. Yet its nestled on a side street where not much traffic and lands to a quiet night's rest. Was our midpoint stop during a road trip and what a comfortable night's sleep. The bed super sized king and mattress firm yet comfy with the fluffy pillows. Linens were super white, not a stained yellow. Room was that mimicking a studio apartment with sofa area and mini kitchen having all the appliances necessary for prepping of a meal including a standard size fridge. Most importantly in my book it was clean. I loved mattress so much I called mgmt to provide me the info. They serve free breakfast as well, although we headed out early a.m. before it began so couldn't take advantage of it. Service was good, and since they didn't have our original room we booked they set us up in 2 rooms for the same price -- what service! Very accommodating. Loved it and would return/recommend.
