The facilities are great for kids but the pool water is filthy, particularly in the indoor water parks. The whole place hasn't been updated in a long time and needs freshened up. Looks nothing like picture above.

I have no idea how this place gets +4 out of 5 stars. It is incredible. On first arrival, yeah the outside looks decent, but the thing that kept coming thru is that this place is all a facade. One person working behind the counter at peak check-in time? The room at first glance, one of the beachfront angle rooms, seemed ok until we put our bags down and looked at things alittle closer. The sheets on one of the beds was stained. The packnplay was not in the room so we called down for it and told them about the sheets. The annoyed cleaning lady begrudgingly changed the sheets. That was the theme for the week, no effort by the owners to keep up the place and no effort by staff. The room was tidied up each day but sheets weren't changed, the carpets weren't vacuumed, sliding glass door wasn't cleaned, etc. For the waterparks, each building has a small waterpark, and by waterpark I mean 2 slides, 2-3 hot tubs, and a regular pool. Lots of chlorine being used. If you look one bit at the details, again it's all a facade. Metal tubes rusting, metal pipe straps rusting, and the Submarine playarea had big rust spots. I found holes in the pool surface and the floors. None of the issues we saw were unfixable, it just takes effort and the desire for the management and staff to want to do better. They just don't. They know they'll get a certain amount of occupancy by families just happy to be on vacation. There's probably better options in the area, choose them.

Everyone was very nice . Could use some updates to the rooms, but all in all it was good.

The hotel is situated in an ice location, quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. Hotel is clean and close to the beach with nice facilities. One caveat is that if you check out at 11 and want to use the pool or beach, there is nowhere to take a shower or clean up after being on the beach, I would definitely suggest making a room available to customers, so that if they need to clean up after using the amenities, it would make it that much more worthwhile to stay longer and use the amenities, instead of clients heading out to find other things to do, this would extend clients' stay and definitely a suggestion to improve.

If you are looking for a hotel that caters to your children, this is a good choice. If you are looking for a more adult atmosphere, try something else. This hotel disappointed me in several ways. Starting with check in, there was a long line with about a five minute briefing on hotel rules. When I got to my "beachfront" room, it was on the first floor next to one of the pools, packed with children playing. I could not see much of the beach. Next came the live music lasting from about ten am until ten pm. The musician was about 20 yards from my "beachfront window". The beach bar was also there. It had no view of the beach, and was crowded with children. The indoor bar was small and also featured many children. Some of these kids were seated on barstools at the bar. I have never seen this before, and I thought it was illegal. Guess not. The maid service was ok at best. The water parks are actually pools with big slides and water play areas. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Dirty dirty dirty We had to call daily for clean towels or for any room service needed. They never did it change of sheets like they said they would on the fourth day.

Enjoyable family vacation. Hotel was in great location to beach and entertainment sites.

Really nice stay, right in the beach. North Myrtle Beach, away from the chaos of the strip. Indoor water parks were fun, nice private beaches, lots of stuff for kids to do. Washer/dryer in room. Bar outside by pool, picnic areas, playgrounds, Starbucks on site, cafe, everything right there.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The resort is close to the beach and our upgraded room was very spacious. The thing I hated was being "welcomed" by the concierge...who was nothing more than a salesperson pushing other resort properties. I did not appreciate that at all. Huge turnoff. The resort is starting to show its age, some carpet is torn, rust on bottom of doors etc. Our room appeared clean, but when we opened the dishwasher, it was full of dirty dishes and pans. Yuck.

We enjoyed our stay. We were really impressed with the water parks at the hotel. We spent most of our time floating on the indoor lazy river. Our 2 year old also enjoyed the lazy river. The room was on the first floor but there was never any loud noises. The room didn't feel very clean. I found a e-cig under the nightstand, which shows someone isn't cleaning very well. The biggest room flaw was the oven that had knobs on the front. Our toddler kept trying to play with the knobs. One night we went out for dinner and came back to the smell of the oven on. That's pretty scary. I would definitely recommend this hotel purely for the water park amenities.

Reservations do not tell you which tower you will be in. We ended up checking into the wrong tower and having to haul our luggage to the second tower. If you stay in the tower not directly across from the parking garage it can be taxing as we had to walk to retrieve our car in the pouring rain and the "shuttle" was no where to be found. We ended up using Valet for our stay and even though we called 30 minutes prior to needing our car for dinner at night it was never there. We still ended up waiting and attendants were often rude. Pools were clean, but hot tubs often looked very dirty and had stuff floating in them. The lunch and dinner restaurant had only one bar tender waiting on tables and guests at the bat at 12:30PM. He said the waitresses should be there anytime. We ended up eating else where after waiting 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken and for someone to bring us menus. The breakfast restaurant is so crowded each morning (very little seating) you have to wait in huge line that wraps around the lobby. We ended up eating breakfast out everyday after waiting in the line for 30 minutes and it had not moved. We stayed here 5 years ago and it was wonderful. The service and staff have gone down hill.

Great view of the beach, comfortable room, and great amenities

The hotel was what I had expected. Room was pretty standard and clean. Our ocean front room had nice views but we were on the 8th floor and there were people below us that had an extended balcony. There was no privacy for them or us. That is expected at these Mytle Beach hotels so this one was no different. We enjoyed our stay but would not want to be here when hotel is at capacity. Too cold to be on the beach but beach area was nice. Good place for families with small kids.

Pleasantly surprised. Outside of the overcharge in my card, perfect stay.

Close to beach and local attractions. The corner view unit had plenty of room for a family of 4 and some e,tra ro spare.

After an exhausting and frustrating early morning of travel, we arrived at Dunes Village with the hope that we could check in early. Toni was at the front desk and could not have been more pleasant and accommodating - she really made what started out as a bad day much, much better! She was able to get us into a 6th floor room (I had already booked the oceanfront deluxe studio) that was ready to go right away. The hotel and room were a bit tired looking, but serviceable. The view from our room was wonderful and was the highlight of the stay. The bed, however, was very firm with little to no give (I am used to a thick memory foam topper on my firm bed). Also, the pillows were so overstuffed that they hardly had any give at all. By the end of my hips and both of our necks were killing us! I will say the that shower water pressure was awesome, but the towels are best described as tiny and highly exfoliating. The small kitchenette was a great convenience to have. We had one day of rain, so I checked out the kid-friendly pool area. On that day, a Wednesday, there were only 3 other people in the pool area (all adults). I enjoyed the lazy river and the spa very much. I will say that we arrived on a Saturday and the pool was full of children and their families. The noise from the pool was generally well-contained; however, the elevator floors were almost constantly wet. Not a big deal for us.

Children enjoyed the planned activities as well as the water park

The room was clean, kids loved the indoor water park. Hotel staff was nice. Starbucks in lobby was a huge plus Only complaint was the wifi signal is terrible.

We stayed from December 16-20. They said at check in the hotel was about 75% full. However it didn't seem that way. The pools were not crowded. My kids really enjoyed the lazy river and kids pools. Also the hot tubs!! Everything was clean and warm! It was 30 outside when we got there!

The hotel has a lovely location on the beach. Our room was well appointed and clean with a stunning beach view. Staff was very nice. Great place for a family with children! We were on business so stayed only one night.

There is a Starbucks in the hotel & it was steps away from our room. A fun park, beachfront, at the hotel. My toddler, floating the lazy river.
