We noticed on arrival that the hotel was not the same as our last visit. It appeared they were not keeping up with certain things. After talking with employees I learned they were closing on January 4th 2016. One whole wing was already shut down and gutted. I feel that should have been stated when I was booking. Other then that it was just Okay.
I was happy for my stayed, but got interrupt with fired drill and the hotel had to fix water issue, it took 5 hours before the water came back, water turn brown after that, had to let the water run until it clear.
Hotel is older but has the charm that Charleston has to offer. Close to the airport so very convenient. The staff is friendly and the food at their restaurant was very good. Hotel is being converted to a Marriott so construction will begin starting with each of the rooms.
Was at the Charlepston Plaza to attend the 449th Bomb Group WW2 reunion.
Great hotel and good value. clean, quiet and all personnel were superb. Food in restaurant was ver good and priced accordingly.
Great location. Close to the mall and outlet shopping.
Staff was very nice and helpful, outside and lobby was nice but wish rooms were a little more up to date. Beds and sheets didn't have a clean smell or feeling, and make sure you bring your own water ($3 at lobby and $2 vending machine).
We stayed at this hotel for the weekend. It was a comfortable stay and the bar and grill was great.
The rooms need some updating, the hot water didn't work in our room but the manager was happy to give us another room. The beds weren't comfortable and the sheets were too small so they came off the bed.
Clean and convenient location beds were very comfortable. The AC Worked great and was easily adjusted. The only thing I would have to say negative was the pillows were way to soft for me I like them more firm other than that it was great
I picked this hotel as it was competitively priced and was just staying for a quick visit overnight while traveling. The lobby and main level are the nicest parts of the hotel. The carpet was filthy and covered in stains, the walls were scuffed and marked, the wall decor was old and falling apart and you could see the outline where things had previously been hanging. The mattress was decent but the pillows were dingy and yellowed. The furniture is well used and nothing appeared to be thoroughly cleaned. I didn't feel comfortable not wearing socks or shoes or even showering. Evidently they are due for a renovation, but it can't come soon enough.
It was a really nice hotel. My only complaint was that our bath tub was apparently leaking water to another floor below and the maintenance team knocked on door a few times and needed us to be out of the room pretty early in the morning. However, these types of things cannot really be avoided so I understood their situation.
The hotel interior is good. However the room interior was bad . Looked like a typical motel rather.
Clean, nice hotel, close to airport and not far from downtown.
We had a good time. My daughter who is three liked both of the pools.
Save your money and stay at motel 6 or spend the extra $15 and stay at the Holiday Inn. Don't let walking in the front door fool you with their luxurious entrance, fancy bar and restaurant. On to the room itself- Pros - It was clean and the a/c worked. Cons - I felt like I had just walked into a $35 room. The bed was hard, you could hear planes flying over, the latch to lock the door was broken off, the sink didn't have cold water - just warm and hot, the mini lotion provided with the toiletries was used, the electrical outlet near the desk didn't work, no fridge or microwave, and just overall small and weirdly updated - like new sink and old peeling wallpaper and moldy looking shower grout. Our second night we stayed in a room that was half the price and it was way nicer and this place.
The bathroom wasn't clean, hairs blocked the shower drain, of course not my hair.
My family and i had an overall good experience, the rooms were as described, clean, well stocked. The staff was excellent and did their best t accomidate (although they were a bit short handed for a holiday.) The only real concern was someone decided to smoke marijuana at the pool which was no fault of the hotel. Overall i would stay here again.
This hotel was great for our 3-night charleston visit. Plenty of parking and a quick drive to downtown, beaches, patriots point, plantation tours, etc. Much better deal than downtown hotels. Rooms were quiet although the air conditioner was a bit noisy. Breakfast was overpriced, but there's a deli across the street and starbucks just across I26. We didn't use the pool or excercise room, but they seem nice. Staff was friendly.
Stayed two nights - staff is very friendly - smallish bathroom (the water came out brown when we first turned on the faucet and bathtub. It cleared up after we let it run a few minutes BUT what was that all about?). Very disappointed that they do not provide breakfast - I expect it now a days - I think they want you to buy it in their restaurant.
