Toilet flushed slow and took a few flushes. Room was outdated and the spring beds squeeked just by sitting on them. The room felt itchy the whole time there. I'm glad i was only there for 3days. Pay the extra bucks for another hotel.

We were visiting friends who live in the area and just needed a place to sleep and shower. The mattresses are OLD and desperately need to be replaced. We stayed three nights. On our last night, we returned to the room after dinner and there were roaches crawling all over the countertop and sink.

Beautiful views, relativly quiet, older building but thumbs up overall.

We stayed in the north building and right away the lobby was unbelievable and unattractive. We got on the elevator and it looked like it could use a good cleaning and paint job. Once we reached our floor, the carpet was old and dirty. Dust and spider webs were in the corner on the floor and in the windows. The carpet needed cleaning and the hallway had a strange odor. We got into our room and it was not clean. The refrigerator was dirty, I had to catch the cleaning lady and ask if she could come in a wipe down the ugly thing. It was dusty in the room and the table was dirty as if it had not been cleaned. We slept on top of the linen with our close on the entire stay. The same day my family and I went to the dollar store to purchase cleaning supplies and water. The washroom was very small and half cleaned. My wife found dead bugs in the window. The housekeeper told me our room was on the schedule to be clean, but we were allowed to enter the room for our stay. One more thing, for this hotel to have carpet throughout the building we never heard a vacuum running nor have we seen the cleaning people with one during their cleaning. The reason we could not get any real guest service with room changing is that our booking was through Orbitz as a third party. I had to negotiate my request through who I paid my money if I needed change according to the manager. I probably start booking directly with the hotels from this point on with my vacations. I was very disappointed with my stay

The hotel was nice a lil out dated. They need to work on there big problem.

We have stayed at Dayton House for last 10-12 years for a few days during the winter. The location is ideal but some things not as great as previous visits. We have always stayed in South building but had to stay in North this visit. The soap had an unpleasant scent and other items were "off-brand" and not up to previous standards. The bed mattress sloped sharply on the sides & was not very comfortable.

Cockroaches on sidewalk in pool area, bed had stains all over it, fridge next to stove had splattered door from previous guests, bed mattress leaned so hard to the left you had to sleep centered or you’d fall off. “Ocean view” room was on the side of building, had to lean out over balcony to see ocean.. horrible parking arrangements and only had parking spots in structure a block away

More like an old motel than a hotel Surely not a resort...

nice views of the ocean, pools very nice. nothing overly fancy but comfortable. beds are of course a bit on the soft side as many hotels are but enjoyed our stay.

I had 2 rooms for the weekend and the one my wife and our son stayed was infested with bed bugs! We woke up at 2 am turned on the lights and they were all over the pillows and both beds. I told the staff immediately but did not get a refund for that room. We crammed in the other room which was clean for the rest of the weekend. Staff said they would have to contact Expedia to refund the money and it's been a week and I have not received it.

This isnt the worst place I have ever stayed but it wasn't the greatest. The room was average and the kitchenette somewhat outdated. The room was presentable but not the cleanliness. I wanted a oceanfront room with a beach view. That is what I got and truly valued the most from this myrtle beach visit.

Check-in: Office needs updating and expansion. Long lines. Helpful and prompt when resolving problems in the room. Ocean view and beach: Great! Price: Very expensive. Parking garage: Needs cleaning. Bathroom: Dirty! Carpet: Needs cleaning.

Everything was okay, especially the convenience of the beach and the awesome view. My only issue was the fact that is was majorly outdated, the room had an stale odor and I did not feel that the bed covers were up to standards!

Terrible housekeeping during our stay. Hotel is dated, needs a makeover and new elevators. Location is good and the front desk staff are friendly. Unsure if I would recommend.

This hotel is dirty, old, has a crabby staff, and way overpriced. Yes, close to beach, but this is definitely NOT the side of Myrtle Beach you want to bring your family. We will be staying close to the boardwalk next time. The difference is like night and day compared to this part of the beach. This hotel is ready for a complete demolition. It smelled disgusting. There were hairs on the linens. Foil on the stove top drip catches. Trash still in the wastebaskets and a ton of flyers for pizza delivery (which would have been so appreciated if they weren't the most God Awful places in the free world, more on that later aka Fresh Burger Co. which literally had me in tears by the end of the night) Anyway, this place is an absolute dump.

Need to fix head board on pull down bed and clean behind.

Our room was comfy with good lighting. Nice loungy chairs in the room, beds and pillows comfortable. Loved watching the sunrise from our balcony.

It was wonderful to be within walking distance of the beach. And there were some wonderful treats like a spa and pool and the lazy river was fun also. Wonderful stay indeed!

Beds were super comfortable, the bathroom was clean the room had a nice little kitchenette with good size fridge and even a little couch near the balcony. We did close the door to hard on the patio resulting in us getting locked out of the room on the wrong side but with a simple call to the front desk the problem was fixed. Over nice beach front and pool were nice. Parking kinda far though

We just came back from a 4 night stay and it was ok. Defiantly nothing special. The grounds and pools were nice. It was very crowded though, lots of kids. Not really my idea of relaxing. Never had an issue finding a chair. The room needed serious updating. We were on the second floor so our “oceanview” was really a view of the generator in the parking lot. Room size would have been tight with 4 people. The maid service was terrible, she only came one day. The second day she only replaced towels, no bed making or anything and the third day she didn’t come at all. We also had an issue with our shower not draining which wasn’t fully fixed until the end of our stay. They did offer compensation for the issue but we had to ask, it wasn’t offered. The wifi was also absolutely terrible. It took several minutes for pages to load and wouldn’t even work in the rooms. I was not able to get any work done. There were no beach towels, so bring your own. You also cannot take chairs down to the beach. We thought the location was good considering we did not have a car. It was about a $11-13 uber ride from airport and $5-6 to everywhere else (skywheel, broadway on the beach etc.). The piggly wiggly was about a 15 min walk, subway and ice cream shop was a few minutes. Mini golf was also within walking distance. Considering the hotel was right on the beach, it was a good price. Would I stay again? Probably not.
