Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island

Nice small resort on Hilton Head Island. After staying at many different resorts over the years in south Florida and the Caribbean, to call this a resort is a bit of a stretch. They have 3 restaurants, but reality it's all the same food. A pool side bar 10 yards from the other other restaurants. The pool is very small, the beach entrance is about a 5 minute walk from the pool. Our room was on the top floor ( the 5th floor ) and you could barely seer the ocean. Great beach area and the staff was outstanding. The entire property was clean and well maintained My biggest issue is the $20.00 resort fee in addition to the room charge. For what ???

Well worth the price. Nice rooms, good staff, good location.

Hotel was excellent. Great proximity to the beach. Amenities were great. Pool area was spacious and enjoyable. Hotel staff at the pool, bar, hotel store, restaurants and bike rental were great. My son loved the ability to feed turtles on the property during the day. Room was clean and comfortable. Looking forward to returning soon.

We had the best time. The staff was courteous and professional. The hotel and room were very clean. The grounds were extremely beautiful. The food was great. We are definitely going back soon!

Lovely resort, very comfortable and relaxing room, perfect for a weekend getaway.

Good experience. A hotel that offers activities for all ages. The grounds are cozy with lots of intimate gathering spots.

When we first enter the facility; we were at shock and aw. Great quality, very nice!

We were looking for a beachy romantic weekend and were surrounded by noise! Loud music is playing in every gathering area, the children playing in the pool filters into the room, people drinking late at night in the bar can be heard in the open hallways (we were on the 4th floor, bar is in the lobby). Seems like a great place for young children and they played movies in the evening for them (so loud you couldn't enjoy the balcony while it was on). We were there for 3 nights and didn't have one night were we weren't woken up several times by noisy people! Staff was amazing (especially concierge), food was very good and loved yoga on the beach. Lovely hotel, outdoor areas and right on the beach - but too noisy for a relaxing time.

Have stayed at this hotel now a couple of times and have been pleased every time. Close proximity to the beach and local shops, restaurants, mini golf, etc. Shuttle service available for golf course on property. Poolside food a little overpriced and not as good- recommend going to restaurant or bringing something with you. Other than that, bring/rent some bikes and leave the car parked for a week and enjoy all that HHI has to offer!!

Great staff , very accommodating when we had to cut trip short by a day for a family emergency only to return and recheck in an hour later. The pool staff is normally very good, unfortunately they were not as attentive as in times past this time around. Great service and food at all restaurants on the property. Really no need to leave the hotel if you don't want to.

We were looking for a mini vacation and found Sonesta online. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by how nice, neat and clean the entire resort area was. The beach and pool areas were very nice and attendees were polite and friendly. The resort staff was very friendly from the front desk all the way to the cleaning staff and restaurant workers. We definitely would recommend this resort and area for someone looking for relaxation as well as other surrounding activities to do. PS: the spa was awesome also.

We came out on spring beak for five days. It is the perfect location and they had many activities. My favorite was the bike rental and riding on the beach. Also, I liked the spa.

I took my daughter here for a weekend trip and we absolutely loved it! Great hotel and ammenities and awesome staff! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Hilton head Island.

we had a family scare and the staff was incredibly accommodating and caring. beautiful views and great beach access....posh lobby. Solid dining options/food.

The stay, all-in-all, was great. No complains. The rooms where spacious, clean, and comfortable. The restaurants, employees where all attentive, helpful and curtious

The staff was slow, sometimes there would not be anyone at a counter to ask a question. Its set pretty far back from the beach, so it was a bit of a walk. Wasn't that impressed for the cost of the room.

It was our first time staying here. I booked it after reading all the good reviews and it didn't disappoint. We really enjoyed this resort. It basically has it's own beach right out the back door, within 3 minutes walking distance. It even has its own shower/bathroom area to rinse off the sand. The outdoor pool was big and very child friendly with a huge toddler pool on one end. The deck was always clean with lots of umbrellas and shade. Service was excellent inside and out in the pool area. Our room was clean and spacious for having two beds. Service at the front desk was very helpful and guest friendly. Would definitely book again if we come back to Hilton Head.

It was ok! The pool was small, but the beach was good.

Hotel grounds were nice and I liked the location. However, in my opinion it is not a four star resort. Although the resort was renovated it still has an old feel with the design, low ceilings etc. Staff was friendly and attentive but there was always trash and food out in hallways and by pool that should have been whisked out of sight quickly in my opinion. Ocean views are not really ocean views. Elevators are old and slow and cannot manage the crowds. Will rent a house next time for same price.
