Overall, the hotel itself was great and in perfect location. prices are a little steep, and 2 hour delay on checkin. was supposed to check in by 4 pm, but was more like 6. so this put us behind on other activities.

Pictures made this place look nicer than it was. First night there we had tons of little flea type bugs on the ceiling and wall. The next morning we had no hot water. We ended up just leaving and moving to a nicer place downtown

The location was amazing! Beautiful beach, beautiful views, walking distance to so many great restaurants and live music. Hotel staff was helpful and made many recommendations for shopping and dining.

Toilet in the room didn't really work, called and asked for a plunger and it never arrived. Front desk staff were nice though, hotel is pet friendly. Good location, close to the little folly beach strip of bars and shops.

Hotel couldn't find our Orbitz reservation and then charged us the normal price. With help of Orbits we got the money back. We forgot prescription glasses in the room. Value $1000 !! Was never "found" by the hotel .....

My stay at Tides was comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. I visited the property for a quick Valentine’s Day getaway. My room view and balcony was a nice touch. We tried the restaurant and the service as well as food was top notch. We wanted to sit out on the patio and the host made sure we had the fire pit and heaters light to keep us warm. If you’re looking for a great place to stay that’s a short distance from downtown Charleston with great ocean views and excellent service then this is the place for you!

The Tides was built in the 60s and has had several facelifts over the years. All rooms are ocean front and all entrances to the room are via the outdoor corridor. My room was 828 and even though it was updated I guessing 5 to 7 years ago there are several items that need the attention of the maintenance dept. toilet needs two flushes, shower water pressure is low, gap under entrance door allowing light, sound, air to pass through, beds suck...mattresses are worn out..::common areas are in good shape and the location is great.

Beautiful location & view. Within walking distance to shops & restaurants. Housekeeping was only thing questionable as trash & towels taken but did not pull up bed & leave nore bathroom items.

Location is perfect on the beach, restaurants, shops and easy parking. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is always willing to help.
