We found this hotel on the Hilton app when looking for an oceanfront room in Myrtle Beach. We were told the hotel is only a few months old, and everything is shiny and new. HOWEVER, the hotel has some serious issues. The front desk supervisor working on Wed, Oct. 9, at approx 6:30pm, was not very nice. She was the only one working with a line 4 deep so we thought we would cut her a little slack. We asked for a room high up but she said there was nothing available. She did not provide us with water, we had to go back to the desk to ask. More importantly, the housekeeping dept needs some serious revamping. Originally we were going to stay 1 night since we have been on a road trip down the east coast. We decided to change our plans and stay 2 nights. The housekeeper knocked on the door at 9am when check out isn’t until 11, and I told her we were staying another night and if she could please come back later we would be out of the room for several hours. She said ok, she would be back. We left around 11 and did not return until almost 4. No housekeeping. We went down to the front desk and asked and were told someone would come up. At 5pm, still no housekeeping. After calling the desk twice more, finally someone came up about 6:30pm. They did not leave us soap and we told them the conditioner was empty but they did not refill. Later when we left the hotel we noticed a cart in the hallway so we helped ourselves to what we needed for the room. Finally, DO NOT FALL FOR THE VACATION CLUB SALES PITCH! Janine spoke to my husband and I, and since we frequent Myrtle Beach we decided to sign up. We were told that we could return the the same location for the 3 night stay for $299 (off season) as long as we went to a sales presentation at the Sheraton Broadway Plantation. We made it very clear we did not want to stay at the Plantation location. She seemed somewhat confused through the whole process and had to call some number a few times for questions. HOWEVER, the confirmation email sent a day later very clearly stated that the 3 day vacation package was for the BROADWAY PLANTATION. I called back to the hotel and spoke to a very RUDE gentleman who did not even listen to the whole situation before INSISTING that I was wrong and I finally just hung up on him since it was clear he was not going to hear me out. I called the number included in the email and was told that they would process a refund, that it was very unusual to stay at one property and be offered a sales presentation at another location, and that the vacation club did not include the Residence Inn Beachfront. I don’t know who is right and who is wrong, but I accepted the offer of a refund from the processing center. Just save yourself a headache and walk away. It’s such a shame because it’s a nice hotel in a nice location.
Very friendly staff from the front desk to the breakfast staff to the concierge desk to the bartending staff. Treat you like family. Hotel was extremely clean and would highly recommend to anyone. Will return next year.
The hotel was extremely clean and the staff were all nice to talk to. I want to write this review primarily because of the front desk reservations person named Bianca. She always greeted me with polite mannerisms like "Yes Sir". I think that many young adults have forgotten how to respect customers and elders. Kudos to Bianca for going the extra mile!
I wish I could give this hotel a good review. The accommodations and amenities are great. We had four people in a a 2 bedroom studio and had plenty of room. The views are amazing. The service is horrible. I have never stayed anywhere that you have to call for your room to be serviced- EVERYDAY! It was never cleaned before 5:00 and they always showed up when we were showering for dinner. I eventually gave up and just called for towels. I was told they were concentrating on the check in rooms. I think you need to worry about your current patrons as well. They are severely understaffed in this area. Also, the restaurant is staffed with one employee to bartender and wait tables. She was also rude. The service is not typical of a Marriott. I would like to say that one employee was top notch. I apologize that I do not remember his name. He worked the front desk and was very professional and friendly. He should probably be managing the property.
Wow, wanted to give this place a better review and did write one but after my experience with the front desk staff i deleted it and am writing this one. Upon check in we asked for a late check out for Sunday. We were told because of our “ status” that would be no problem. Well imagine my shock when housekeeping comes to clean my room! I contacted the front desk who had to call me back because they had to “check with manager”. I was called back to be told that my late check out request should never have been granted regardless of my points status and that they could give me till 2 and would be happy to hold my things! What a load of crap in ,y opinion. This hotel was not booked full, we checked before we even asked and i was personally told by the assistants general manager; who was NOT kind at all, that a “ bike rally” was headed in and they needed my room. So because YOU overbooked you throw out your other guests? I will be filing an official complaint with Marriot about this property and it’s oh so unfriendly staff. Another thing, it’s a pet friendly joint, it says it on the webpage so act like your a pet friendly place. I have stayed in a lot of Residence Inns and this by far is the WORST. My room, not even sure it was cleaned other than the sheets. No toilet paper, 2 Bath towels for a 4 person room and I had to “ sign” to get more. Wanna was dishes, good luck finding some soap or even a paper towel. It says no smoking but interesting while sitting on my balcony to watch the sun rise I was inundated with cigarette smoke from someone above or below me. If coming for a summer stay be sure to know what your getting, my rom only had a cooktop so if your expecting an oven, i would ask. However based off my experience here you will probably not get what you ask for, the staff will give you daggers for bothering them and it will be your fault. Save your money go get an Air BNB at least you know the staff will be kind, honesty the only good this about this hotel is the view.
First I want to acknowledge the awesome hotel clerks Biance, Koren, I want to thank you ladies for your kindness and beuing compassion. I dont understand why people bring dogs on vacations everyone dont like dogs. I came to the hotel to releax not get ill due to the NASTY DOGS SMELL lingering threw the hotel an on the elevator people are very inconsiderate and I dont care if it is a pet friendly hotel Marriott need to rethink that amenity because it is nasty and no one want to lay behind no nasty dog your facility is really nice but i see that letting dogs lounge around were people stay and lay will not work for me but wanted to let you know that the hotel is beautiful and the customer service is wonderful Bianca and Koren keep up the good work.
We stayed here on 9-16. The hotel was nice, as were the employees. Noticed when we left there were 2 separate charges on our account. One of the charges was a Pet charge. We don’t have a pet. I contacted them (Bianca) and she said we would be refunded one of them. No problem. She saw the mistake and was very apologetic. It’s the 25th and still no refund and the manager (Joe) has not returned my call. I will say there were A LOT of pets there. However, we didn’t have one. Still waiting for my refund, Joe.
New Marriott at the beach, i m a platinum marriott member so i know pretty well the Marriott wtih more than 500 nights Why disappointing? Service was not at exepectation level... room was not done on a daily basis, soap shower not there even after 3 reminders. Breakfast is average... plate are often empty Garage/parking is average as well Summary : they really need to do something Rooms are ok with a nice ocean front view Swiming pool is a joke
When I first arrived, I thought that they hired ppl from Chic fil-a the customer service was great. Until they gave me a room key for someone else room, until I paid for bottle water and only got it 1 day out of 4, until they checked me out after 1 day, until my friend arrived and they gave her my key instead of her own. It was tragedy after tragedy. The breakfast crew was great, I must say.. esp Ms Michelle. Nice hotel with good customer service, until they actually have to work.
Although we only stayed one night, we had a wonderful experience. All staff encountered were amazingly friendly and helpful with information about the storm. The rooms were spacious and clean. Our room overlooked the ocean. Sleeping to the sound of waves is priceless. We had an excellent rate. I would definitely stay here again.
